patience is a virtue.

it won't be long now.

you are busy

but we have been on here waiting since the Allen story broke for our new era...

how's it going?

I concur..... I would love an update. (Tony, I respect you are not a sideshow existing for our own amusment, but the wait is killing us......)

Oh come on lads, Sunday is a day off rest, we will hear something this week.

Then what the hell would I know :)

Tony, pleaseeeeeeeeeee put us out of our misery

Contact with the man himself! I like this bloke already, the old regime would never have had this level of fan interaction! You sure it's him and not some silly impersonator or anything?

Yeah, Mike Wilde would never post on here

I hope when it goes through on Friday we

- have regular updates from the new owner

- that ticket prices are announced

- that the marketing staff are ready not just to sell tickets but to promote a new feel good factor around the club, the city and nearby towns / villages

- the IT system works so we can buy tickets

- the club remembers to thank those who helped them during the last few weeks

Come on guys, its going to be a good week ahead. Tony is quiet - which shows that the serious and professional business is being done - i would have been worried HAD he constantly been in the media with 'updates' similar to previous tyre kickers - I believe that if this by some small chance did not happen, it wont be by the lack of professionalism, but by some legal issue with the backer and I think think is remote... sometimes yu just get a vibe and the silence is a psitive message because it shows a professional and business orientated process... bring it on and wish uncle Tone the best for a positive outcome.

I think Tony Lynam should start a Twitter feed for the next 5 days and use it to update us every 15-20 minutes on how things are going. ( he could stop between 11pm and 7:30am )

Perhaps we could tweet guesses as to who the mystery man is and he could respond with "freezing", "cold", "getting warmer", "you got it" type responses?

Or he can get on with the job at hand and we'll waste more time on here speculating.

I think Tony should...

just chill and enjoy the ride!

Ups and downs to follow... but we've got the fans, MLT and Tony and the dude with the dosh...

and Rupert is a failed football chairman and now OAP home organiser.

Justice is sweet.

Yes, patience is a virtue. However, the procrastinating is about to lose us a decent goalkeeper, according to the Echo.

(i have not read the latest echo - so I do not know of any new 'actual' news)

Priorities of the Echo

1 > Sell as many newspapers as possible

2 > Write all news about Southampton FC

In times of relative silence, they will do a lot to try and sell these papers IMO. The fact with Kelvin (i presume that is whom you are talking about) is that he wants to try and stay at this football club. His family are settled and he likes the area.

IMO, We will be fine, Kelvin will stay.

top of my things to do, -made me smile.

You know what its like, if you don't write out a things to do list, you get to Friday and realise you have forgotten to do something important - like buy a football club!

Yes indeed! I am eagerly awaiting Spencer's next update of Tony's humanitarian charity work. Where will it take him next? I wonder if he met Mikey Wilde while over in the Channel Islands.

Does anyone know when the 'Saints Go Lynam' t-shirts will be available at the megastore? ;)

I don't understand why Lynham, Fry, MLT or anyone else connected with the Pinnacle bid should pander to the collective neurosis of this forum. Lets face it the regular posters don't even make up 5% of the current dismal number of ST holders waiting to renew their tickets so why should Pinnacle announce their plans on here first or even acknowledge the collective whinging, it's embarrassing.

The Echo isn't much better allegedly looking to this forum or NI for their stories and soundbites. Personally, I will wait for the press conference and hear it from the horses mouth and until then I continue to hope no news is good news but equally aware that nothing will surprise me.

why is it you find the need to *****, whinge or moan about..well...everything and yet when others do it you say its embarrassing?

I take it you have a problem with his charity work and the promotion of it. I noticed another sarcastic comment on a thread yesterday.

I am hoping that our new owner would want the players to be the first to know and an announcement will be forthcoming today or tomorrow at the latest.

Now reading on here that Lynham is taking in the garbage sprouted by certain posters on this board makes him even worse than Michael Wilde and the PR's working for you know whom.

Surely if the club is indeed separate from SLH, the sale of the club could have gone through and been announced a long time ago. I can only hope that it's a sign of them being thorough and not of them expecting to take in the advice form the likes of Hypocumdriac in order to move forward.

Especially when its not even TL that's promoting it!!

If that charity gets one more sponsor or pound from getting noted on here then that will have been worthwhile because how else do they get known?.

We can always get OB some "Bitter & Jealous" ones printed in the megastore dedicated to him.

Not bad, he hasnt even "taken charge" yet and is already worse than Lowe and Wilde.

**** me.

Oh, and its Lynam not Lynham.

I was lead to believe he was requested to just give us a small insight on to what was going on. There's no harm at all in him updating us twice, once to clear up a vindictive rumour. Which he isnt exactly going to waste resources and make a press release because of a stupid rumour.

This man is saving our club, so don't knock him or you'll meet my friend PAIN ;)

Who said Lynam is taking in anything?! I'd hope he's overseeing the takeover, not wasting time on here. What a ridiculous post! Some of the idiotic theories and supposition by some posters on here is laughable!

Thanks for that Ron. To further clarify this discussion, TL played in the Guernsey Smile4Rich Golf Day on Friday, attended the dinner on Friday evening, and returned to Southampton first thing on Saturday morning. As has been pointed out, this does not conflict with his assertion that he'd be working on the deal over the weekend.

As has been mentioned previously, Tony is a very generous supporter of the Smile4Rich Appeal, both in terms of his time and financially, and I believe that he has made no secret of the fact that it's a charity that is "close to his heart".

For those of you who don't know, the Smile4Rich Appeal was actually named in memory of a young Saints fan, Richard Bowler (aged 15), who passed away suddenly following a brain haemorrhage in July 2002.

Tony had committed to playing in the Guernsey event some months ago, well before his involvement in the rescue of SFC. It would have been an understandable and easy option for him to drop out of the event given his current workload, but he was adamant that he still wanted to take part.

I've seen plenty of criticism on here for previous regimes' failures to honour promises over Southampton Football Club, and yet it now seems a small minority of you are quick to criticise TL for being 'a man of his word' with respect to a charity event that actually honours the memory of a Saints fan.

I know football fans can be fickle, but.........!

Anyway, if you want to read a bit more of the history of Smile4Rich, try visiting http://www.smile4rich.co.uk/about-smile4rich/our-history

chill out! it was a tongue in cheek thread along the lines of the football chant. We are all dying to know and would love to hear any info - however no-one is suggesting that he stops working on the deal to spend a day on here.

I think the press release he issued was released on here first, hth.

Well if we don't know be Wednesday I'll have a word with Tony in my local Wedneday evening...and give you all an update Thursday...

Its a fair point though isnt it. At its hight when something REALLY exciting is happening, how many people are online here? 500 maybe?

This is a busy forum, unfortunately it is generally busy with the same people argueing about the same things.

No more comments please Mr Lynam. Do things proffesionally and stay of this forum especially if you are going to take some form of boardroom slot. Its all getting a bit Mike Wilde like for me and should not be happening.

If you read the post he hasn't been on this forum....it was a response to a message sent to him...totally different to Wilde.

Makes me laugh....some want openess and honesty and hourly updates, when its given twice in as many weeks they get slated....brilliant.

With "Mike" Wilde he conducted himself through Keith Legg (typical of Mike to use others!) wheras Tony posted for himself. That said it would be unwise for Tony or anyone else "on the inside" to use this medium going forward especially if they choose to do it in disguise (as Mike Wilde did) because eventually it'd backfire. Once the club is sold the Offcial Site will be at the new owners disposal and it's there where they should stay.

This isn't having a go at what Tony has said so far, on the contrary because he's come accross well and because a certain poster i know vouches for Tony i'm fully behind what he's doing. It's just advice because having seen mistakes made on these forums in the past I think it's the right thing to do to warn him against the pitfalls.

Finally I understand that Hypochondriac has been doing his usual trick of pm'ing Tony to try to weedle out information. He does this with everyone. Be careful with this poster Tony and if you take my advice ignore him.
