NickG Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 (edited) Looking at several sites we are about 6th to 7th favorites for promotion and not amongst the favorites for relegation. I would not like to guess until we know owner, money and manager! Edited 13 June, 2009 by NickG
lordswoodsaints Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 Tbh the bookies havnt based that on anything but guesswork so I wouldn't use that as any sort of indication of our finishing position.
St Marco Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 Remember some people saying the same thing this time last year! In all seriousness it is really difficult at this point to say where we should be aiming. The squad if it is kept together should be aiming at the top 6 even with the points deduction. However if we lose some players and replace them with the likes of Smith etc then we will be in another relegation battle for sure. Next season will be very difficult but if we did what we did this season then we will make it even harder for ourselves. We need a return to reality, no gimmicks, no manager that has not been a manager at least at this level and so on. If someone offered us 6th place now i would bit their hand off for it.
Matthew Le God Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 With -10 points 6th place would be a very good season
OldNick Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 it hasnt been confirmed that we will not avoid -25 has it. it all depends that we come out in time with a CVA

I would not like to guess until we know owner, money and manager! Obviously the odds assume a takeover, new manager and several player purchases.

OldNick Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 thanks pal, keep on cheering us upyou need all the info before deciding if we are going to be promoted or relegated. Ihave a bet with a Cherry fan that if they go up he gets £100 and if we go down he gets £100, or course if it goes the other way i get the money.

NickG Posted 13 June, 2009 Author Posted 13 June, 2009 Obviously the odds assume a takeover, new manager and several player purchases. a takeover by someone with no money left after, a poor manager and worse players??
SKATE_HATE Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 i've got 165/1 to go u 2 seasons running with ladbrokes
Rut Posted 14 June, 2009 Posted 14 June, 2009 i've got 165/1 to go u 2 seasons running with ladbrokes I presume that you meant to say 'to go up'. (you missed the 'p' out) Interesting bet. If we do go up this season then it means we've really got our sh*t together. We are 8/1 at the mo. If you put a tenner on that's 90 quid at say 10/1 next season - would be 990 back. Only 98/1. Are you sure that is 'to go up' and not 'win the league'. If it is 'to go up' I'd say that ain't a bad bet. Still fukcin hopeful but who knows...
egreog Posted 14 June, 2009 Posted 14 June, 2009 Misplaced optimism in my view.......with minus 10 points, just staying in the league will be a good result.......just because there are new owners, things won't be wonderful overnight.........difficult season in my view!
