Robsk II Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 Yeah, I saw this too. I mean, what the f*ck? How could anyone do this? What sort of thing must possess people in order for them to act in this manner? As much as anything else, it's just odd.

Robsk II Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 I can't see how she wouldn't have done? I think it would be hard to argue in court she would not have been aware of the possible consequences of her actions, ie, that someone very ill may have been in the ambulance. As such, it would sort have been causing a death.
red and white saint Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 Some people never cease to amaze me She was lucky the patient didn't die SHE DID The patient in the ambulance died and the judge said if Avery's driving had played any part in that death, she would have been facing a very different sentence. The patient did die so fail to understand how her actions are not considered a contributing factor, in that she hindered the paramedics ability to perform cpr

St Landrew Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 Examples like this hit at the very core of my inability to comprehend certain people's in today's society. It's all about consequences, and the ability, or lack of it, to see how a person's actions can adversly affect those around them. I can visualise consequences, and I'm sure You can. But plenty of people can't. They just act, and bugger everyone else. And do they care about themselves when they are punished for their actions..? Oh yes. Surely, it can't be more plain to anyone that dangerously impeding an ambulance with its sirens operating is likely to lead to bad consequences..? Weston Super Saint Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 If you're whacked off your t1ts on drugs then you probably won't give a monkeys about anyone else.... I imagine this was the case with the woman who cited 'stress' as the only reason for her actions, yet the ambulance driver states her and friend were laughing and gesturing - doesn't sound like 'stress' to me. Unfortunately we created this society with our namby pamby punishments and lack of any sort of accountability, and now we're stuck with it. Saint in Paradise Posted 13 June, 2009 Share Posted 13 June, 2009 Not strange at all, I advocate capital punishment for most driving offences. Hopefully you only mean ones that cause the death of others and not just speeding a few mph over the limit ?
