My money is on everyone saying "Who's he?" when all is revealed.

and mine......but quite frankly if he has bought us, is prepared to invest enough to achieve the 5 year plan to get us back to the Premiership, and has been smart enough to get someone like MLT involved, who cares !!! : - )

Ok, i know we are now just a league one side but i am just a tad staggered that once again there appears to be no info/guesswork/rumours in the sunday papers, nor has there for what seems an age.

Does this mean..

A) not a soul really gives a toss, not news worthy etc....

B) not one journo or pundit, besides the people involved, actually know anything...

They appear not even bothered to make stuff up,for a change.

Or is the deal being done the "correct" way and it's so watertight that it has'nt sprung any "leaks".

I've just got a feeling there is no actual multi millionaire owner hence the reason nobodys got a clue who it is.If there was/is surely the takeover would have been done by now and i just find it strange the wish to remain anonymous even when the takeovers complete.

Yes, totally agree with that. It does seem odd. Surely nothing is that 'watertight' these days which, as you say, makes it a bit worrying that, possibly, they can't be bothered. Surely not. Let's go for the 'watertight' version!

Well I am now officially ITK.

I've been speaking to a senior manager of a prominent company in Southampton who told me the name of the company owned by our potential new owner. I have subsequently found his name on the web. It is a name mentioned on here in one or two threads but means nothing to me.

I have to say browsing the web site I feel quite confortable with this guy should my info be correct.

Make use of that last post.....

Well here goes, my last post.

I do feel at bit torn here as apparently from what I've read on this forum he wants to remain anonymous which (I think) is perfectly understandable, at least until the deal has gone through. I think we should at least try and respect this and so sorry but I am not going to name him. However his name IS mentioned earlier in this thread.

I know I'm going to be slated from some on here but there you go. Please be assured that if this info is correct (and it did come through a number of people before getting to me) then the company he part owns is pretty big with a turnover of ten's of billions and he is in the Sunday Times rich list.

Once again sorry if I come across as a smart-arse ITK'er bit I just don't feel comfortable naming him.

Hopefully it won't be long before we are all put out of our misery.

Then there was no allegedly about that service station story. I was there.......

Had forgotten all about that. Amazing what you find out when nothing happens.

Damn I hope by some weird quick of fate that it isn't the same bloke who went on to make zillions and is now buying us.

Ye Gods, I'd almost prefer the amigos

if hypothetically this poster is correct - and have no reason to think he is more than others.

There are not many on here who

1) on Times rich list

2) part own company with turnover he states -rather than retired/personal fortune/ etc

3) no well known

4) appears on here and couple of other threads

Obvious now!

Roger de Hann...

This name has been touted on here before, and some have alluded to him having " prevoius connections " with the city of Southampton.

What connections though ? I have still to hear of them.

Legend has it he offered out a coachload of leeds nutters at a service station then legged it leaving his mates to it :)

Never knew him but he was known for doing that sort of thing quite often by all accounts.

...wasn't it Chelsea, how'd that song go?

"Jim, Jim, Jim Redpath, England's leading psychopath, he only runs when the Chelsea come!" (something like that)

He was an early kind of a Saints 'J*hn Westw**d' - self-appointed fans leader - that big scar across his throat, did he get done in 'Stanley Park'? Guess not, they'd never have caught him!

Jim "We're the Barmy Archers Army" Redpath, RIP (Runs In Panic).

Back to the OP, I'll go along with 'JR' (the other one!).
