landford.saint Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 After all of the months of uncertainty and troubles, and with just a week to the big day. How about a sweepstake on who can guess the identity of the new owner. My guess is purely from the heart, knowing in my head its totally wrong. Richard Branson.

Katalinic Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Vincent and/or Robert Tchenguiz. Involved in property and loads of other things (in 2007 bought Peverel Group based in New Milton). Seem to remember Morph was hoping it wasn't them. They own a company called Consensus who rescued the estate agent Chesterton from administration a couple of years back - the Saints project is right up their street imho.
trousers Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 I think someone who nobody knows. Not even his wife?

Window Cleaner Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Not even his wife? Anyone buying the Saints would probably want to hush it up expressly so that his wife didn't find out. She'd probably belt him with a rolling pin or something for being so stupid.
Northam Girls Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Andrew Lloyd Webber for me Lives in Hampshire - into music promotion for which St May's is ideal - loads of money - not very outgoing which could explain the secrecy etc

Window Cleaner Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 The Libyans from Back To The Future. Biff Tannen would have plenty of money if only Marty hadn't gone back to 1955 and stolen the sports almanac
Amesbury Saint Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Richard Branson, based on the rumour I heard 2 months ago, But it was a friend of a friend of a taxi driver before you get excited.
OldNick Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Richard Branson, based on the rumour I heard 2 months ago, But it was a friend of a friend of a taxi driver before you get excited.why do people have such high regard for Branson????
landford.saint Posted 12 June, 2009 Author Posted 12 June, 2009 why do people have such high regard for Branson???? I think its because he has the ability (not always but more often than not) to take an idea and turn it into a money making business, and he has lots of money, which to be honest IF (and thats a big IF) the new owners are prepared to spend some of it, with the right team off the feild to make good decisions on we could get some success. However look at QPR big money owners... wont spend it, and put the seat prices up to some ridiculous levels.... And interference off the pitch I am lead to believe.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Abdull Abulbul Amir and Ivan Skavinsky Skavar Tarquinfintimlimbimwhimbimlimbimbuststopf'tangf'tang ole biscuit barrell, possibly. Otherwise? Phil Collins

I dont think Branson is likely to put more into something than he gets out.He is Mr Publicity, it will be balloon rides all over again. If he keeps us having a club so be it, but fans have to remember that we are likely to get a RL Mk2 as in things being run for profit. Branson is much more customer friendly though

Bongo badger Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Biggins. To be honest i have no idea, but i feel we will all raise our eye brows and down the corners of our mouths when we find out ! I just said that to see how many people would do it to see what its like lol.
Footballfan Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Nick if you think Eric Idle I will go for Billy Idle, same odds on both.
Patrick Bateman Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 why do people have such high regard for Branson???? Because he's an excellent business man who has built a brand with a superb world-wide reputation that people love to work for. He creates a buzz, gives up considerable time and effort for charity and is great to work for and with. Plus, he's not interested in football. It's not green and it's not advancing technology to create green fuels.
OldNick Posted 12 June, 2009 Posted 12 June, 2009 Nick if you think Eric Idle I will go for Billy Idle, same odds on both.Im going to chnge it John Cleese then
