Armed cops at Heathrow airport cannot wear a tiny pin badge to support out troops because it's deemed 'offensive'. The money raised through selling these tiny badges, at £1.00 each, goes towards the forces charity 'Help for Heroes'.You can however wear rainbow symbols. Descriminate or what.

It's just a case of one group of fascists not being allowed to publicly support another group of fascists.

I await your responses.

yep I must remember not to call them when my car gets nicked.i'll go and find it without the help of those fascists ( iw ould probably have a better chance.......but)

LOL

This is the exact reason why I said people are turning to the BNP

Yes, this is the exact reason people vote for the BNP. If people are told they can't wear a badge they automatically vote for a neo nazi, racist party. If only people could wear their badges. Where will it all end?

Where's Stanley ?

I'm here. This morning i was in town and soldiers returning from Afganistan were parading. Not a single protest, just clapping. I wonder why my town is different to places like Luton?

A statement from the Met said: "The dress code states only approved corporate badging may be used."

Madness. Complete madness.

Indeed. I'm going to protest outside my work, where only corporate clothing is allowed.

Pink Ribbons are 'approved' then!?

You haven't stopped to think whether any other badges/ribbons have been previously approved then? Maybe, the pin badges in question will also be approved if the request is made formally. Hey, that would make for a pretty lame news story though, right?

When the Islamist fascists protested in Luton, all 20 of them, they showed themselves up to be the bigoted, racist, thick morons we all knew them to be. Marginalised by the mainstream and mocked by the majority.

That's why I all in favour of letting the BNP have airtime and media scrutiny as then the same will happen to them.

The more publicity the better.:)

Wearing any sort of non-uniform badge/ribbon on any kind of uniform looks scruffy, so I wouldn't allow it either.

I'm also fairly sure that the cold hard cash is appreciated more than seeing the Sun reading public wearing these pathetic badges.

Getting back on topic, the police at Heathrow are in UNIFORM whilst on patrol and in the public eye. The idea of a UNIFORM is for everyone to look the same and have a sense of belonging. The only differing parts of a UNIFORM are rank or trade badges. Since when has it been down to the individual, wearing said UNIFORM to attempt to enhance it with his or her own embelisments.

As an ex serviceman I fully support the help for heros campaign, and a lot of other charities, but how would a copper look if he filled his stab vest with all the charity pins avaliable?

The only exception to this rule is and always has been the November Poppys, the only servicemen not allowed to wear them ironically is those taking part in the London Cerimonies.

But they are allowed to wear rainbow symbols and this is where the discrimination comes in.

There's a sizeable immigrant population (not as much as Luton) in Watford, days after the Luton thing, there was a parade with the exact same regiment in Watford. No trouble whatsoever, no protests, nothing. It's not immigrants (or lack of) that makes your town different.

I have witnessed first hand Sikhs and Hindus demonstrating against Muslim extremists so credit where it's due.

I don't wear black leather and am not mad. I do have cats but I am not single. You are a tosser though as so many people on this forum have told you already. You clearly are a racist facist idiot. Thanks.

If you're going to get your opinions from reading Sun articles, you're going to get offended pretty easily. You have no idea what the story is here, that piece was little more than a soundbite.

Developing such a strong opinion from such little information makes you look an absolute arse.

Agreed, I have lived in Watford for 12 years and can't recall any racial problems at all.

This ban though is totally barmy, another example of Britain, the land of ridiculously enforced political correctness.
