I thought the deal HAD been concluded Cue paranoia I think you've read that sentence completely out of context Phil TBF. I read it as 'if the deal is completed on Thursday as opposed to the deadline of Friday' i.e early. Either you have read it ou of context or you would appear to be trying to stir up paranoia in people? Now you've always struck me as being a very intelligent and insightful poster so I'm a bit concerned as to why you would appear to be falling into the 2nd catergory? All IMHO
NickG Posted 14 June, 2009 Share Posted 14 June, 2009 all good sources seem to say its going well, even relaxed. Phil does seem to be negative due to his involvement with Jackson possibly?

All IMHO Was winding up Thorpie TBH. More joshing him that maybe he knew something rather than insinuating he did. Some paranoia is good though, but just a little bit. Keeps us alert but not necessarily like the rabid questioning of last week. We didn't have enough of it the last time big changes happened in the ownership, but we don't want too much now. I was very worried before the exclusivity, I remain marginally concerned during it, simply as it isn't all done yet, and lots of club admins get sorted out quick and easy, but lots also have lots of "last minute surprises" but I'm expectant that it will get done. Jeez, no sense of humour there this morning - must be raining again! It WAS Thorpie that posted the words, not me! So just that there is no misunderstanding I have now edited it and stuck a smiley in ok! Oh, look I did when I posted it, a smiley, not a rolly! :D:D:D:D :smt080:smt080:smt080:smt080:smt080

Secret Site Agent Posted 14 June, 2009 Share Posted 14 June, 2009 (edited) Hey trust me. Big business always goes to the wire. Three weeks to do a tender and we finish it at 10.20 to be delivered at 12 pm, It gets delivered at 11.56. Four months to do a tender and it is finished at 1 am the morning before. Bottom line? They will be up all night Thursday till sparrow fart on Friday morning before finishing the deal. For me this is a natural occurence. Totally agree.....it doesn't matter how close or far away a deadline is the deal will always come in right on the wire. I expect this site to have a collective bowel problem Thursday night !!! waggy Posted 14 June, 2009 Share Posted 14 June, 2009 if its going so smoothly why does it have to take the full 21 days?? .... ever bought a house?
SaintBobby Posted 14 June, 2009 Share Posted 14 June, 2009 I'm frustrated, but not panicking. As others has said, even if 90% of everything was agreed within the first hour, all available time is likely to be used up to sort out the last 10%, 5%, 1%, 0.001% etc. If they only get to 99.999% agreement with minutes to go (because...e.g....they are in dispute about whether the new owners have to honour the £2,000 per annum photocopying contract with Rank Xerox), then I'd imagine they'd just split the difference right at the end rather than call off the whole deal.
