exit2 Posted 10 June, 2009 Share Posted 10 June, 2009 If you are installing from a CD, try disabling DMA on Your CD-ROM drive

saint_stevo Posted 10 June, 2009 Share Posted 10 June, 2009 Look in device manager under IDE controllers and change the appropriate channel to "PIO only"
Colinjb Posted 11 June, 2009 Author Share Posted 11 June, 2009 Look in device manager under IDE controllers and change the appropriate channel to "PIO only" I've gone into device manager, IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Then looked in NVIDIA nForce3 250 Parallel ATA controller (v.2.6) I found a reference to channel in 'secondary channel' and 'transfer mode' is already set to 'PIO mode.' Any further ideas?
