StuRomseySaint Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 ... anyone know who has the best beer deals? Looking to bulk buy for the IOW Festival, where is the best place for deals on crates of beer at the moment?
Robsk II Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 Believe it or not, quite a lot of Aldi's beer is actually pretty decent. It's also sodding cheap.

I am contemplating going down the 'smart price' route... although I cannot see any official confirmation of the Carling amnesty tent being there this year, so not sure it is worth the gamble? You might be able to get some good deals down the car boot or at some other pikey event.
Robsk II Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 I know it's easy to be sceptical, and you could let old antipathy into this post and say I'm a queer who probably doesn't like beer... But actually, I'm a fan, so please believe me when I say Aldi is well worth a visit - try a few of what they've got, and I reckon you'll find something sodding cheap that's right up your street. Andy_Porter Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 (edited) Tesco atm do 45 cans of Fosters, Carlsberg or John Smiths for 20 quid. Think there is a similar deal on bottles with Stella and maybe Bud but I can't really remember the price or amount on that. Apparently the cold beer amnesty thing could still be happening, not sure it's worth the risk though since the Carling website is a bit hazy on details. swannymere Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 Tesco's is the cheapest for booze at the moment, cheaper than Morrisons, Sainsburys and ASDA. Just stocked up with lager and cider for Glastonbury and its 3 cases of 15x440ml Strongbow for £20 and other beers which i've forgotten. Don't forget the trolley:D
Saint in Paradise Posted 9 June, 2009 Share Posted 9 June, 2009 SRS I seem to remember that you were going to start a late night business delivering booze, what happened and don't you still have contacts from those days ?
