Master Bates Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Will have fans attending The FA have decided the game will NOT be played behind closed doors.
chrisobee Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Very thoughtful of the tube drivers to go on strike. I wouldn't fancy trying to get anywhere in and around Wembley tomorrow. I can hardly imagine what the always chaotic roads will be like! Thanks goodness it's only Andorra.
stevegrant Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Rumour is that none of the overground trains are stopping at Wembley tomorrow, which seems completely mental to me
chrisobee Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Rumour is that none of the overground trains are stopping at Wembley tomorrow, which seems completely mental to me Well that is interesting! No BR trains from Marylebone stop at Wembley Park anyway which only leaves Wembley Central and as a rule I believe only the slow trains stop there and even if they miss out Wembley Central there's always Stonebridge Park, North Wembley and South Kenton which are within walking distance. I predict complete chaos and many fans arriving just as the match is finishing !
stevegrant Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 The Sutton to Milton Keynes train (goes via Clapham Junction and Watford) stops at Wembley Central usually, which was going to be my alternative plan for tomorrow. Now that's been scuppered, I'm not bothering.
hypochondriac Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Just been given a ticket. Whats the best thing to do?
hypochondriac Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Cheers Ponty. Will be driving with my mate tomorrow. Leaving Southampton about 12:30. Do you think we will make the game? Anyone have any suggestions about where to park or what to do?
chrisobee Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 (edited) Cheers Ponty. Will be driving with my mate tomorrow. Leaving Southampton about 12:30. Do you think we will make the game? Anyone have any suggestions about where to park or what to do? 12.30 should do it fine! Parking anywhere in London is of course difficult and in Wembley on a match day next to impossible. There is a car park for sure at Harrow and Wealdstone station and if you are lucky you might get a BR train to one of the stations I mentioned earlier even if trains are not stopping at Wembley Central. Also unless they have changed the parking restrictions near H & W station ( quite possible) you could park in one of the streets nearby. Last I was there parking was only restricted between 10am-11am and that to stop commuters. Can't be sure though. Edited 10 June, 2009 by chrisobee
chrisobee Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Can you not get there from Gerrards Cross? If you are really fit you could jog from there but it is on the BR line to Marlyebone ( Chiltern rail) and trains are definitely not stopping at: Harrow-on-the-Hill, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Chalfont and Latimer, Amersham. Plus of course Wembley Central. This is the link to Chiltern Railways: http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/news/latest-news/important-announcement-for-wembley-passengers/
chrisobee Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Cab? Once you're as close as you can get, obviously. Lol Watford might well be as reasonably close as you'll get if you are coming off the M25! Personally if I were coming that way I'd turn off near Heathrow ( if you're on the M3) and then Uxbridge and head through Hillingdon, Eastcote and Pinner. That route will also make Harrow a decent option, just remember to set your Satnav!
Deppo Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 I've got a fiver on 6-0 England. Sorry to bring the thread back to football.
UniS Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Park in Perivale and get the 297 bus. Easy. The roads are pretty mental up here as it is, so tonight will probably be even worse.
Thedelldays Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 i reckon giving walcott 45 mins up front with rooney would be a good shout imo
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Hell yes! 1-0 after 3 minutes, Rooney from the Skates cross. Could have easily been 3 already. Please let this be the savaging we have not dished out against minnows for so long.
saints_is_the_south Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 I don't think Andorra have had the ball in England's half yet lol.
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 (edited) So far, so bo' selecta. I want 8 at least by the end of this, and will demand Capello's sacking if this is not acheived. Edited 10 June, 2009 by Colinjb
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Who's playing in goal for England? Rob Green, but it could be me for all the goal mouth action Andorra have had.
Dicko Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 I'm still not 100% convinced that Theo is as good as his reputation suggests He's seriously inconsistent
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 4-0, Defoe. Nope, 5-0 Defoe again, rebound off a Beckham free kick.
Saintjersey Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 3 ex saints players on the pitch now. When was the last time a team from League One had 3 ex players in the England team? My bet is never.
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 3 ex saints players on the pitch now. When was the last time a team from League One had 3 ex players in the England team? My bet is never. Leeds? Robinson, Alan Smith and Lennon?
Saintjersey Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Leeds? Robinson, Alan Smith and Lennon? They haven't all played in the same team surely?

Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 They haven't all played in the same team surely? Robinson and Lennon have, not sure about Smith mind, but isn't impossible.

Julian H. Cope Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 What's everyone having? I'll have a Dubonnet & Lemonade.
Deppo Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 How embarrassing. You won't believe this...I appear to have left my wallet at home. Do they take Luncheon Vouchers here?
Julian H. Cope Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 How embarrassing. You won't believe this...I appear to have left my wallet at home. Do they take Luncheon Vouchers here? They always accept luncheon vouchers in The Edge.
Colinjb Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 :DMan of the match,,,,,,,,yep you got it the Skate Boy:D All the better for engineering a move away.
skintsaint Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 can Defoe shoot without scuffing the ball? Awful player who only scores against the minnows. Please hope to god Owen comes back to form (doubtful).
chrisobee Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 can Defoe shoot without scuffing the ball? Awful player who only scores against the minnows. That's unfair, he scored 2 v the mighty Trinidad and Tobago If I'm right 4 of his 8 goals for England have been v Andorra !
Give it to Ron Posted 11 June, 2009 Posted 11 June, 2009 :DMan of the match,,,,,,,,yep you got it the Skate Boy:D As voted by Hart ? Beckham was brilliant for me and his range of passing was superb. Ok it was Andorra but we still had some who were absolute crap didn't we Theo.....Crouch....
JustMike Posted 11 June, 2009 Posted 11 June, 2009 As voted by Hart ? Beckham was brilliant for me and his range of passing was superb. Ok it was Andorra but we still had some who were absolute crap didn't we Theo.....Crouch.... yep totally agree
ChrisPY Posted 11 June, 2009 Posted 11 June, 2009 Robinson and Lennon have, not sure about Smith mind, but isn't impossible. Ferdinand, Robinson, Lennon.
