Opening Game off the Season Sweepstake

Dorchester at home.

Dorchester away would suit me as I might actually get to see a game for once - trouble is, who would I shout for? Oh SAINTS of course! If we are still in League 1 when all this guff ends then I hope I might get to Yeovil when the time comes.

Colchester at Home I think, could be a good game to start the season on. They're a good L1 side, usually around the play-off places for most of the season and it'll be a good benchmark for the rest of the season to play them, as the play-offs are hopefully our goal.

When was the last time we won the first game of the season?

Coventry away, think Egil Ostenstad got the winner - not sure which year though! I can't really be expected to know considering i'm 17 years old, and the Ostenstad era was so long ago that its up there with my first substantial memories of the club.

I will go for Brentford away

or if the rumours are right this morning then by Friday no take over then Cambridge away would be good in the Blue Square.

Talk ****e this morning say we have until friday to complete a takeover or we will be dumped in the Blue Square. With the fixtures coming out today I find this hard to believe.

Not to mention that the late Tony Kempster's website (RIP Tony) has this little update on the ups and downs of non-League football, indicating all of the knock-on impacts, massively detailed and from May 2009, showing if nothing else that there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE of us being in the BSq Prem this coming season. We will either be in League One or nowhere.

I'd have to disagree with you there! Given the buggeration factor you highlight, if we were to "fold" it would cause even greater issues at the lower end of the "steps", therefore it would make perfect sense for Saints to be accomodated in BSP, shifting all te remaining teams up one place...... otherwise they really would have a problem ****ing teams all around the place (esp after issuing fixtures....)

...having said that, I'm sure it is all academic, as the take-over will be completed by Friday - why spend the money sooner than you have to?
