Matthew Le God Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 The players return on the 22nd of June, not next week at all. Trust the Echo, can't even get a simple thing like that right. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/8089055.stm ummm...? The Echo is right - some of the squad report for fitness testing on Monday with full training restarting on 22nd This doesn't conflict in any way with that BBC article
Doctoroncall Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 I know who 2 of them are, I shall not be saying a word though. SFC are supposed to stick together, are we not? So you still uphold the playground code. As SFC will be banning any that are positively identified and/or found guilty of the crime, SFC are not sticking together. What does the code say about that?

Window Cleaner Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 The Echo said some of the squad are returning next week for pre-fitness checks prior to pre-season training starting on 22nd. Great, 2 months off and they're knackered already. Hope there are no 'Peter Wells" who came back about 3 stone overweight.

The Mac Attack Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Good - I hope these idiots get locked up. Yeah 8 years minimum i reckon :S
Gingeletiss Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 I know who 2 of them are, I shall not be saying a word though. SFC are supposed to stick together, are we not? You either said that for effect, or you really are a BNP supporter. Question, If one of them does something next season, that results in futher points reductions, will you be happy with your Schoolboy code of conduct??..................
1976_Child Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Well I had a rant at the old bill about how crap they were bringing the dogs on the pitch and how their mates in the Met had murdered that Millwall bloke. Also was not happy about being filmed on the way out of the stadium by some jack-booted copper. Ask him what right he had to film me and was he going to put it on you-tube. But I never chucked anything at the Burnley fans. That sort of thing has no place in footy. Keeping an eye on the fuzz so they don't become fascist pigs is every free Englishman's duty.
OldNick Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 I couldnt get the pictures of all the fans up. I read the Police officers post on the Echo site and though he is correct in some ways it seems to me he is trying to cover his mistakes and so wanting to make arrests for evets that were caused by his and the clubs negligence. At half time it should have been announced that the players would come out and do a walk around the pitch. As others pointed out the fans just moved around to the kingsland and stewards were trying to alert the police who did nothing. Ps Im not condoning the idiots who went on the pitch. They were moronic and as for those swinging on the goal!!
Kaiser Soze Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 As far as I can see there is only 8 pic on there ?????
StuRomseySaint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 As far as I can see there is only 8 pic on there ????? Don't worry, you're not on there mate!
The Saturday Boy Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 As far as I can see there is only 8 pic on there ????? According to the article, three of them have already been identified, so they've probably removed their pics.
graymalkin33 Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 I know who 2 of them are, I shall not be saying a word though. SFC are supposed to stick together, are we not? No we are not. If you are joking then hahahha ha ummmm ha If you are not joking then you are a plank.
NickG Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Ah fair enough. I took it that they had someone set up and a bit further along the road than just an informal chat. But then if it was only a chat to see if there would be interest and if it would be possible then deciding what players should be brought in may also be a bit premature dont you think? To me it doesnt quite make sence, if I owned a football club and I wanted a manager then I would make sure I got him before identifying players he wanted. As going out and picking my own squad then gettting a manager to sort them out would be on a similar lines to the old Rupes picks the team line would it not? Suggesting they know what manager they want says they are planning things but suggesting they know what players they want too suggested they already have a manager set up. Kinda looking at it from both ends IMO. Either way, the sooner it all gets sorted the better neither player nor manager discussions can be formal until they actually have a club
beatlesaint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 The Pinnacle in Race Against Time article is a sure fire highlight of when a newspaper hasn't got a clue what to write next. Its such a non story - like us they know there is a 3 week period of exclusivity, we all know when that is over and provided they are ready to take over it is a race against time to make all the changes they may want to make with regard coaching and playing staff. What a complete waste of print.....along the lines of the "who is going to be the next manager" article in the Pink on Saturday. Put the cricket on the back page if you are that hard up for a story !
Window Cleaner Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Put the cricket on the back page if you are that hard up for a story ! Hampshire's latest performance would need just 2 words F*cking Awful, so they probably needed a bit of padding for the back page.
StuRomseySaint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 You either said that for effect, or you really are a BNP supporter. Question, If one of them does something next season, that results in futher points reductions, will you be happy with your Schoolboy code of conduct??.................. The actions of the police caused the things to escalate in that game, just because the police f*cked up, I don't see why people should grass on other Saints fans and do the police's job for them. One thing of note, I notice a number of the pictures are people wearing Saints shirts, proof in itself that not wearing colours has f*ck all to do with being a 'hooligan' . That will no doubt upset a few people on here. Last question, how many teams have recieved points deductions for crowd trouble in recent years?

You seem to take joy in the fact that you know people that get involved in violence at football. Maybe you even do yourself, and you don't really try to hide it either.
Master Bates Posted 9 June, 2009 Author Posted 9 June, 2009 The Pinnacle's Race Against Time article is a sure fire highlight of when a newspaper hasn't got a clue what to write next. I pointed that out to my mate earlier, made me giggle
StuRomseySaint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 You seem to take joy in the fact that you know people that get involved in violence at football. Maybe you even do yourself, and you don't really try to hide it either. Don't take joy in anything, just simply stating that the OB went completely OTT at that game, and through their bad policing, they caused the situation. I wasn't even at the game though, thanks. :-) Just come to my opinion based on video footage and accounts of TSW members.
aintforever Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 That hooligan feature just sums up how laughable the Hampshire Police are, first we get their Nazi dog routine that does nothing but encourage a pitch invasion now we get rubbish grainy pictures, of people who may have thrown something at someone over a month ago (not exactly crime of the century). The annoying thing is tax payers money was spent on some fat arsed rozzer trawling through hours of CCTV footage and doing screen grabs when he could have been out stopping serious crimes taking place, or maybe actually catching serious criminals. You can guarantee that the cop who did these pics, did so to get out of doing real police work because they are probably scared of breaking up a domestic in Shirley, or dealing with drug dealers in some inner city dump. Whenever you get burgled or car broken into the police are useless, you might as well call Father Christmas for all the good they do. - lack of man power is usually the pathetic excuse they will come out with. Now they appear to have all the resources in the world to catch a few kids who chucked some stuff - tossers.

There are some people having a good old laugh on this thread... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=13657 Disgusting don't you think? Gloryfying violence... I suggest you get over to that thread and give 'em what for...

krissyboy31 Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 A view from Burnley. http://www.burnley.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=157117
Dan Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 I know 2 of the lads quite well actually. One of them I spoke to earlier who I was with at the Burnley game and I can assure you he didnt throw anything. How can they point out 11 fans, when hundreds were hurling objects.
damers Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4428978.Swiss_group_waiting_to_swoop_for_Saints/ Swiss group reday to swoop if pinacle fail. Always good to have options.......
JustMike Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 The actions of the police caused the things to escalate in that game, just because the police f*cked up, I don't see why people should grass on other Saints fans and do the police's job for them. That will no doubt upset a few people on here. Last question, how many teams have recieved points deductions for crowd trouble in recent years? sorry mate but thats carp. I stayed in my seat when the pitch invasion started (in the Northam) and could see everything. The police did not make people run straight over to the Burnley fans, nor did their actions make "fans" lob items at the Burnley lot. The police simply reacted to what was in front of them, which was a bunch of idiots acting hard in front of a police / steward barrier whilst throwing objects at other people.
Red and White Army Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 sorry mate but thats carp. Par for the course from that idiot SRS.
The Mac Attack Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 That guy on the Burnley website.......talk about over hyping a situation. He makes it sound like Basra. In my opinion it was largely a whole lot of chanting with a few objects being thrown. When things like this happen in football there is always a massive overreaction. Ok it shouldn't happen, but police 'hunting' people down for throwing a coin. Whilst i would never do that i do wish they would spend there time actually trying to solve something a bit more important.
The Mac Attack Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 however, if they are going to chase petty incidents like this, i wonder if they can put a photo fit up of the cat that took a sh*t all over my lawn last week!
saintjay77 Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Where did the flares come from? Was it our lot or was it out of the away end? Were the reports about Poopy fans being in the away end showing there shirts off true? If some of the above is right then that Burnly guys account of events will probably end up getting retracted. Anyone lobbing coins into a group of people need to be delt with for sure but the police/stewards should have been aware and delt with anyone in the away end giving it the biggun. If Poopy nobs were in the away end stiring things up the police should have just thrown them out and allot of the saints fans would have just had a standard pitch invasion with no trouble. Dont see why we would have any normal rivalry with the burnley lot so there must have been more to it IMO
Griffo Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 There was a fair bit of trouble with Pompey fans before and after, and from the Itchen North there was one guy that was sitting there in his Pompey shirt but got ejected in the end when he was spotted out.
The Saturday Boy Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Seven of the eleven have been identified now - http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4429262.Seven_Saints_fans_indentified_in_crowd_trouble_investigation/
saint1977 Posted 10 June, 2009 Posted 10 June, 2009 Hampshire's latest performance would need just 2 words F*cking Awful, so they probably needed a bit of padding for the back page. Durham have a seriously tasty attack though - Onions, Harmison, Plunkett and co. Add in the conditions and the pace those three bowl at and I don't think many county sides, and a lot international ones, would make many runs. Hants have generally started well but need Tremlett fit to hit those sort of pitches with the venom Durham will. Griffiths is skiddy and 84-86mph but still learning, Tomlinson adds variation but the other quicks are wicket-to-wicket and better suited to early season.
Master Bates Posted 11 June, 2009 Author Posted 11 June, 2009 Todays Echo is near on the same as yesterdays, "Pinnacle's Race Against Time", saying that it'll most probably go to the wire blaah blaah blaah
doggface Posted 11 June, 2009 Posted 11 June, 2009 I have a a quick read of the paper & has some direct quotes from TL (more than on the website) & all sounds v encouraging. I would expand on his comments but I am too tight to buy that rag again.
krissyboy31 Posted 11 June, 2009 Posted 11 June, 2009 Todays Echo is near on the same as yesterdays, "Pinnacle's Race Against Time", saying that it'll most probably go to the wire blaah blaah blaah Could we merge this thread with the NOTHING one? The Echo seem to be masters at it.
