Could be that something like Radio Hampshire could be back in time for the season.

 

 

PRESS RELEASE - 8th June 2009

 

Play Radio on FM in the South New Owners for Southampton & Winchester The licenses for Radio Hampshire in Southampton and Winchester have been acquired by Play Radio.

 

The licenses were bought at 5pm on Friday from the liquidator's of Radio Hampshire Ltd.

 

The winning consortium is promising a return for a local radio station for the south coasts biggest city as soon as possible!!

heres hoping they retain the commentary team and still stream it on saints TV cos' im moving away in september and I was relying on that!!

 

Lets hope not. Lets hope they retain the commentary and appoint a new professional match day team and a summariser who can actually give an opinion even when it involves something that 'didn't happen to him during his playing days'.

Flash is busy scouting for Leicester so probably not much chance of him coming back unfortunately.

I'm noticing a theme on this forum that if people agree with me they seem to think it appropriate to apologise!

 

Why apologise, Armstrong was tedious and every time he was asked a tough question his answer started - 'I don't know, I never or it never or it will never etc etc etc' Case wasn't much better and a week never went by when he had a 2 minute soliloquy on Liverpool. Flash was the main man whether you agreed with him or not at least he didn't sit on the fence and made the programme above all interesting and entertaining.

I wouldn't bother, if you could measure popularity on here in miles I suspect I would be about an inch. It would be a short thread.

I can cope with Cope (sorry, couldn't resists) but not Case. He was just so dull and his inability to pronounce the players names got on my tits after a while.

He used to love a love in with our Jimmy. Tim would rattle on about how great Jimmy was and when he came over to the 'States' and you could hear Case over the radio mouthing to Cope who the fluck is this guy - I can't get a effing word in.

 

Gotta love TT but nobody can be that impossibly lovely, not without medication in my experience.

When I wrote that I thought who will be the first with the knob gag, thanks for not disappointing. Anyway, size isn't everything at least I don't have to wake her up.

i miss the calls from LA its great to hear the weather forecast from over there , when the rain is peeing down here and Im driving home after another defeat.I also miss the 'if only we had 5 or 6 players like you Jimmy'

Genuine LOL comment. At the time it really makes you cringe but you're right Nick you soon forget how much you miss those calls. Jimmy Case always seemed to act like a rabbit in the headlights when Tim was on the line. Say what you like, Timbo does a nice line in superlatives and I dread to think what he would say to MLT, I don't think there are enough words worthy of such tribute available.

I didn't even know Radio Hampshire had gone off the air. Sure enough, having hit pre-set button 5 on my radio, it's dead air static. Mind you, not much worse than before. :-)

 

So, having clicked the playradio link, anyone know which of the plethora of stations we will get - please, no heavy metal. (cringe)
