Thedelldays Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 are buying some great players. barry tevez very very good players top 4 for them next season IMO
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Citeeh will still some how manage to mess things up.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 As long as they keep with Hughes I will be pleased for them
Thedelldays Posted 8 June, 2009 Author Posted 8 June, 2009 watch manu fan claim that tevez is their cast off..lol
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 watch manu fan claim that tevez is their cast off..lol Well he was not in their first team line up when everyone was fit.
Ludwig Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 All over Talksport today. I wouldn't trust it until it's signed, sealed and delivered with a press conference.
saint_stevo Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 As long as they keep with Hughes I will be pleased for them he has gone to Hibs
Andy_Porter Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 watch manu fan claim that tevez is their cast off..lol He is no way near as good as people think. Hardly suprising that United aren't willing to spend 25 million on him. Signing Valencia for 16m and playing Ronaldo upfront more often makes sense imo. He'll do well for City but I think they would be better off signing more of a traditional English style centre forward. They've jsut got a load of midgets up front and need someone like Benzema, Carew, Adebayor etc to break down teams away.
Andy_Porter Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Looking at their squad they have a ridiculous amount of talent there, just wonder if Hughes is the right man to get them all playing as a team. Robinho Bellamy Tevez SWP Ireland De Jong Barry Jo Petrov And then you've got the ones who might be happy with a bench place... Bojinov Johnson Hamann Vassell Gelson Benjani Etuhu
Hatch Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 They need a really good centre back, and Dunne to stop scoring 10 own goals a season
Weston Super Saint Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Who's Barry Tevez? He was in our yoof team.
Smirking_Saint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 They need time to bed in the new players, then they will be a challenger. But yes, need a better defence. Dunne had a good season last season but this one went to pot.
Wade Garrett Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 They are on their way to being the modern day version of Keegan's Newcastle who spunked the title. Great going forward, nothing in defence. Superb entertainment though. Looking forward to it.

Smirking_Saint Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Dunne had a good season 2 years ago. He was crap last season. Thats what i meant, crap season just gone, but then richards had a poor season compared to 2 years ago also
Wade Garrett Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Thats what i meant, crap season just gone, but then richards had a poor season compared to 2 years ago also Hughes thinks Richards is lazy, and had a go at him in training. He could be on his way.
Papa Shango Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 No way will City get in the Champions League next season. They are a million miles away from the top four at the moment. 6th or 7th at best for them next season I reckon.

Ponty Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 thats what i was thinking. They are a bit like saints in the past, great at home but go missing away When were we ever great at home?
OldNick Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 1983/4 yep and many seasons before and after that. We'd beat Man U at home and then go and have a non perfoprmance at Ipswich or Coventry etc
Papa Shango Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 Oh, that far in the past. Fair dos. We only lost 2 at home 2002/03 (To Liverpool and Man United)
Ponty Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 We only lost 2 at home 2002/03 (To Liverpool and Man United) This is true.. I actually had a look back and was bloody surprised to see that.
ChrisPY Posted 9 June, 2009 Posted 9 June, 2009 IIRC Middlesborough and us were the only teams unbeaten at home about February/March that season. Strange to think SMS and The Riverside gave away teams a bit of a scare to travel there!

Strange to think SMS and The Riverside gave away teams a bit of a scare to travel there! Think we came closest to beating Boro at the Riverside too. 2-0 up with about 8 minutes left IIRC.
