Scudamore Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 i'm especially looking forward to getting knocked out by someone sh:t...
Micky Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Whats the johnstons paint trophy - do Real Madrid play in that too...????
Thedelldays Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 i'm especially looking forward to getting knocked out by someone sh:t... :smt046 we wont even be lucky enough to do well in that...
Matthew Le God Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Chance to take 35k of us to Wembley shouldn't be laughed at
Thedelldays Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 isnt the trophy like a north v south thing..? who are the "big boys" in the southern part of the draw..? us charlton brighton orient millwall lol
Marsdinho Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Bet Leeds and Leicester though it would be easy to win as well.
SW5 SAINT Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Don't forget Luton! I don't think Luton get to play in this anymore!
hugh Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 i'm especially looking forward to getting knocked out by someone sh:t... We can't knock ourselves out! Can we?! #-o
Neil Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Chance to take 35k of us to Wembley shouldn't be laughed at Exactly. Similar to the ZDS trip in the early-90s, we'll all start getting excited at the SF stages. Could be a good jolly...
Andy_Porter Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 I know you're taking the **** but I am really quite excited about the JPT. The chance to go to some proper tin pot grounds and a possible trip to Wembley, even if it is only a pretty insignificant cup It would be amazing to see Saints actually win something. I'm hoping for Bournemouth away in the first round.
miserableoldgit Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 If we were to get to the final, I am sure that it will be an emulsional experience, but with Matt there I`m also sure that the gloss won`t be taken off the day
Micky Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 If we were to get to the final, I am sure that it will be an emulsional experience, but with Matt there I`m also sure that the gloss won`t be taken off the day Do NOT give up your day job....
CLOTH EARS Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Look on the bright side we wont be playing any northern teams untill the final, so at least we wont have to travel to Macclesfield on a freezing cold tuesday in November. I take my hat off to those of you that will be travelling to watch Saints away in this competition
hamster Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 isnt the trophy like a north v south thing..? who are the "big boys" in the southern part of the draw..? us charlton brighton orient millwall lol LOL, how long have been away dd? We are pretty **** nowadays (have been for some time), and really do have to ditch this 'big club' delusion, we really do. Having said all that, I do like proper cup competitions and if we can get to Wembley in any competition or the play-offs I will cream my jeans.
saint lard Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Yep,i'm just ****ing myself laughing at the prospect.
Verbal Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 LOL, how long have been away dd? We are pretty **** nowadays (have been for some time), and really do have to ditch this 'big club' delusion, we really do. Having said all that, I do like proper cup competitions and if we can get to Wembley in any competition or the play-offs I will cream my jeans. Quite agree. And the first thing we have to do is downgrade this forum. It's still Championship quality, with occasional bursts of Premiership class. What we need is a real League One forum, where we gaze with wonderment at a fixture list that has us matched against the mighty Milton Keynes Dons, and get all tingly about a trip to the football factory that is Brentford. If only there was a way to make it more crap on here. Or not. I'm sticking with my delusions.
Dark Munster Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Bet Leeds and Leicester though it would be easy to win as well. They had bigger fish to fry.
SFC Forever Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 do we have to enter? A bit like our players. Don't know how to enter the opposition half and score a goal. God i hope we get some new players quick.
Bailey Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Oh when the Saints, Go Johnstone's Paint! Oh when the Saints go Johnstone's Paint! I wanna beeeee in that number, Oh when the Saints go Johnstone's Paint! Being serious for a minute though, we'll probably get knocked out by a League Two side. Would love to get to the final though for a day out at Wembley. Here's hoping!
westofshannonsaint Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 I would like an excuse to go over and have a look at the new Wembley - Glory hunter that I am.
Draino76 Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 But this is fun no? It all adds to the rich tapestry of life supporting Southampton football club. When I'm talking with my collegues at work they all wanna know what the **** is going on at Southampton; and I always have at least 2-3 ****ed up, but interesting things to tell them.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 I for one would love to see us go to Wembley. Some people foget that alot of people who have only been fans for 5 years or less (me included) have NEVER seen us do well in any competition let alone get to a semi-final/final situation. Regardless of what competition it is, a trophy is a trophy in my book.
Colinjb Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 I agree, I am frankly creaming myself at the thought of getting knocked out of a meaningless trophy on a rainy tuesday night away to Rochdale.
gonzo Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 I know you're taking the **** but I am really quite excited about the JPT. The chance to go to some proper tin pot grounds and a possible trip to Wembley, even if it is only a pretty insignificant cup It would be amazing to see Saints actually win something. I'm hoping for Bournemouth away in the first round. I'm hoping to we get to thrash them in the final, personally.
hamster Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Does the club already know the draw and they are just keeping a lid on it for now?
Fan The Flames Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 chance to take 35k of us to wembley shouldn't be laughed at +1 100%
Gaz@Maybush Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Chance to take 35k of us to Wembley shouldn't be laughed at Yeah, be nice to see those missing 20k again.
ericofarabia Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Getting a semi on at the thought. A chance to win something that Man U haven't managed to yet
Saint George Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Was always a Dulux man my self.....Cant beat quality competition
eurosaint Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 If we were to get to the final, I am sure that it will be an emulsional experience, but with Matt there I`m also sure that the gloss won`t be taken off the day And afterwards we could paint the town red !!
Lets B Avenue Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 I agree, I am frankly creaming myself at the thought of getting knocked out of a meaningless trophy on a rainy tuesday night away to Rochdale. Pedants Corner: We couldn't meet Rochdale until the final and thats played on a Sunday.
lee_saint Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 We will be one of the teams to beat in the JPT. So expect us to be knocked out by some League Two team in the first round.
Gorgiesaint Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 I would be excited except midweek games in the South of England means zero chance of getting to any of them due to work. But the chance of getting to Wembley is something we should be excited about. So as Lee Saint says, we'll probably get knocked out by a L2 team in the first round!!
Window Cleaner Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 We will be one of the teams to beat in the JPT. So expect us to be knocked out by some League Two team in the first round. Why? have we got some new players then? The first round is a bit over 2 months and we'll probably still waiting for a 'take-over' by then.
Ponty Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Luton got to the final, I believe, but I can't remember who they played or who won.
Ponty Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Wow, a winning day at Wembley and relegation from the football league. What a season for the Hatters fans...
miserableoldgit Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Is this the competition that has the draw on soccer am? Thats the one.
Stirchleysaint Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Will we be in the South East or South West draw?
Micky Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Do we win some paint? Worthwhile IMO We need paint - thats why we have so much debt at SMS - it needed bloody decorating and we had to buy the paint - true story...!!!
