Leicestersaint Posted 6 June, 2009 Posted 6 June, 2009 We were all out for 105 - what on earth went wrong here?
stevegrant Posted 6 June, 2009 Posted 6 June, 2009 I'd wait and see what happens in their first innings - could be a batsman's graveyard.
chrisobee Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 (edited) 84/2 at stumps suggest probably not ! Just hope the rain we have had here heads NE fast !! However, it does make you wonder how switching from 20/20 to a 4 day match within 2 days may not be ideal albeit of course the same for both sides. Edited 7 June, 2009 by chrisobee
Leicestersaint Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 I still hope we can do really well in the championship this year - but we need more consistent batting and bowling.
Leicestersaint Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 They are now 140 for 3 - I don't like the way this match is going! Why hasn't he given Dawson a bowl?
Berkshire Saint Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 191/3 now, really need some rain! Dawson hardly ever seems to bowl in the Championship, Carberry has bowled more overs than him this season! He has been expensive but he always seems to pick up wickets.
Leicestersaint Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 208 for 5 - a bit better and at least we will get a few bowling points hopefully. No sign of the rain in Durham yet.
Leicestersaint Posted 7 June, 2009 Author Posted 7 June, 2009 Durham 311 all out. Hants 1 for 1 in second innings - Carberry out for a second duck! What's gone wrong here then?
Hatch Posted 7 June, 2009 Posted 7 June, 2009 Not good, at least Tahir got 5 wickets and he is in my fantasy team
bungle Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Despite the fact we are doing badly, it is great to have some proper cricket to talk about again, after the recent farcical "cricket". Not sure how we are going to save this game - think we will be relying on the weather.
The Saturday Boy Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Lost by an innings and 110 runs - http://www.cricinfo.com/countycricket2009/engine/current/match/382928.html Durham were lucky
Lets B Avenue Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Thanks for that. BBC Sport still hasn't updated the overnight score. What a shameful capitulation. I could just about pardon the 1st innings as they had to rush up there Friday and get stuck in on a rain affected day. But yesterday?
Window Cleaner Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Thanks for that. BBC Sport still hasn't updated the overnight score. What a shameful capitulation. I could just about pardon the 1st innings as they had to rush up there Friday and get stuck in on a rain affected day. But yesterday? too much one day batting in 4 day matches no doubt. It's what happened to the W.Indies in the recent 2 test series. One day cricket and 4 day cricket should take place in seperate parts of the season.First 1 day from April to late June and then 4 day afterwards.
Lets B Avenue Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Going to be worse next year with 2 20/20 comps. although no World cup to get in the way. OK there is one In South Africa with a bigger ball. Before someone tries to out-pedant me.
bungle Posted 8 June, 2009 Posted 8 June, 2009 Also the gap in the season for those not involved in the farce (which includes our young bowlers) can't help. Not sure how much Durham's team is different from when they play non-cricket.
