Have to say that given some of our recent opponents this is a pretty decent fixture.

Up there with the coup of Bayern Munich a few years back.

Would have thought a decent crowd for the regime's first home game (fingers crossed) could be expected.

No , I meant Marco van Basten will be our NEW manager next season!!!!!!!!!

Excellent. With Wotte back in his 'Director' role I can just see the OS headline now...."Dutch Duo Ignite Saints Hopes For Season"....;)

That should keep the losing at home run going!

It's a pretty short run at the moment as we didn't lose our last home game...and the game before that....;)

we have better friendlies than the Skates- only Benfica for them I think!!

Theirs is in Portugal, I am there at the time and have a Benfica supporting father-in law so may go and sit in the Benfica end.

It seems Ajax must be doing a UK tour as they are also playing Brizzle City.

Dutch opponents....hmmm...any connection to the nationality of our manager next season perhaps....?

Ajax are on tour over here, dosen't nessarily mean Wotte will be gaffer imo.

I hope he isn't,but i could be wrong of course.

Excellent news! I'm all excited about the football again now.

Annoyingly I'll be at Glade Festival in Winchester that weekend, but at least it's looking good for the future if they feel confident enough to announce a prestige fixture like this now.

Nice. An early thrashing. That'll give the kids plenty of confidence. Perhaps Eastbourne Borough would have been more appropriate opponents.

I wonder what Ajax supporters think about an away friendly against a 3rd tier English club? Anything like we have in the past going to Holland or Sweden playing 3rd tier teams? A complete waste of time, probably.

Great news I'm darrn sarff that weekend doing the whole family visiting thing. Might take my nipper with me. He is a curse though, both games he's been to we've lost against Peterborough and Notts county. He's still a Saints fan though I think I've brainwashed him satis. Could be done for child cruelty though brainwashing him as a Saints fan at the moment!

sorry to be a bit negative but i think we may need to see the side Ajax put out before shouting what a great fixture it is, a team of 18 year old unknowns is likely, we need to get real we are in the third division next season

They'll put out their first team but expect a big squad with some youngsters in it. But since the match will be a good three weeks after Ajax start their pre-season all their "stars" will be playing. Keep an eye out for Suarez, a brilliant player that will no doubt be playing in one of the top Spanish teams soon.

If you feel like giving advice to Ajax fans on where to go and what to do in Southampton check ajax.netwerk.to .

When they going to announce the pre-season tour of Holland then.

If we ever get back to the Prem? Doubt there will be a tour. We will be playing non-league teams away and any CCC/Prem teams we play will be at SMS.
