Pearson was appointed at Leicester to get them promoted from League one. He achieved this by winning the League convincingly within one year. Pearson has achieved everything that was asked of him at both Saints and Leicester. If you can't give him credit for that, you are deluded IMHO. If League 1 is as easy as you say it is, then we can expect to finish on at least 86 points next season and be comfortably in the playoffs, just like we did when we were relegated from the Prem.
