thesaint sfc Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 The shell garage up the road from me has a job going.
hypochondriac Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 The Bellemoor pub were advertising for bar staff.
J Bizzle Posted 3 June, 2009 Author Posted 3 June, 2009 Another example of people coming out to uni and getting an average job a 17 could get. Not really, just need something for over the summer, have a job lined up for when i finnish uni anyway.
Saint Keith Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 ask SRS. he's always got lots of things for students to do
saint1977 Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 I've finnished uni for the summer and got 4 months to do nothing, does anyone know of any jobs going? Can be anything really. Southampton City Council and Southampton University both have temporary employment agencies I believe.
OttawaSaint Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 Not really, just need something for over the summer, have a job lined up for when i finnish uni anyway. A job in Finland, nice!
Colinjb Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 Aldi pay £9/hr. Should see you through the summer ok. On a part time basis!? F*ck me that's good!
J Bizzle Posted 3 June, 2009 Author Posted 3 June, 2009 Which is.. Floor manager of a large engineering company.
J Bizzle Posted 3 June, 2009 Author Posted 3 June, 2009 Southampton City Council and Southampton University both have temporary employment agencies I believe. Can this be found on their websites?
hamster Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 On a part time basis!? F*ck me that's good! I am told that they don't employ on FT basis for the tills and shelf fillers. It is a good rate though for shop work and they tend to be very nice staff without the patronising 'here to help' nonsense. In any field good staff are good staff in my book.
revolution saint Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 Do bar work. Lots of fun and a better education than university. Well I thought it was anyway.
benjii Posted 3 June, 2009 Posted 3 June, 2009 On a part time basis!? F*ck me that's good! Why would part-time staff get paid less per hour than full-time staff? Answer: they don't. That would be illegal. HTH.
J Bizzle Posted 3 June, 2009 Author Posted 3 June, 2009 Do bar work. Lots of fun and a better education than university. Well I thought it was anyway. I work in a bar in Bristol, but i'm back in the Ghetto of Romsey now.
Block 18 Posted 4 June, 2009 Posted 4 June, 2009 Floor manager of a large engineering company. Is that business jargon for the guy who sweeps up at the end of the day
J Bizzle Posted 4 June, 2009 Author Posted 4 June, 2009 Is that business jargon for the guy who sweeps up at the end of the day  No, they guy that tells everyone what to do and makes sure each job gets done on time.
nick1579 Posted 4 June, 2009 Posted 4 June, 2009 No, they guy that tells everyone what to do and makes sure each job gets done on time. Straight from Uni? Pull the other one pal.

HedgeEndSaints Posted 4 June, 2009 Posted 4 June, 2009 No, they guy that tells everyone what to do and makes sure each job gets done on time. Well if that's true this large manufacturing firm will go under. Any business that brings in a wet behind the ears kid straight out of big school onto a shop floor environment at (by the way you make it sound) senior Managerial level, need their heads examined. if I was a shareholder I'd want the HR Director hung by the ******** for such stupidity!

I know engineering inside out, have been around it my whole life. I'm going to uni to learn about business and management.
