Danny Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 Almost certain the badge will be revamped and relaunched a la Arsenal, Chelsea and QPR so that the new owner can get the rights to it. Anyone who wants to produce saleable items bearing the badge would have to pay for the privilege. The rights to the badge are owned by the club, which the new owner will own, so there is no need to do a new one just for that reason.
doggface Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 Sounds like a load of old balls to me.
Badger Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 Southampton St. Mary's Use some of the old names from the past(both these have been used before) or include 1885 Name would be fine by me,but everyone will still refer to us as Southampton anyway. Micky Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 I don't give two hoots what the new owners change, the name the badge, who cares, just so long as the change the forward line, midfield and most of the defence too. Then I'll be well happy...!!
Amesbury Saint Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 Southampton Saints or Southampton City for me
Neil Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 The most important thing is that we won't be Southampton Leisure Holdings Plc next season! As for the 125 years, I definitely think it would be good to do something a bit different with at least one of the kits for this, the 1885 kit sounds like a good idea. Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 We are Southampton Football Club, no need for any alterations thank you! And there's no way we'll ever be United...
saint_ed Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 Don't want any changes to our name.
docker-p Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 It ain't broke, it don't need fixing. I want Saints to be officially Southampton FC. I want the badge to stay the same, and I want them to play in Red % White stripes. You can't build heritage by changing your identity

trousers Posted 2 June, 2009 Share Posted 2 June, 2009 I think you'll find that was Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC, not Southampton FC. Does that mean we get our 10 points back?
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 3 June, 2009 Share Posted 3 June, 2009 Nice idea, but there's something very disconcerting about that badge - maybe the use of a crest within a crest. I almost expect to look closely at the rose in the centre and see another old crest hidden in there... :-)
