Hatch Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Hopefully the Skates will get a Scottish or welsh team?
bungle Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Welsh teams (TNS and Bangor) both got knocked out.
notnowcato Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Is their squad big enough for a European campaign...??
Hatch Posted 29 August, 2008 Author Posted 29 August, 2008 Why? So their European Tour only consists of a drive to Inverness or wherever,
Scummer Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 So their European Tour only consists of a drive to Inverness or wherever, It's a group stage, they will have several games.
stevegrant Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 It's a group stage, they will have several games. Not yet it's not. They have to get through the first round before it becomes a group stage.
Saint Martini Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 I hope they get some small team, underestimate them and get kicked out. Maybe Kalmar FF would be a good candidate for that.
Hatch Posted 29 August, 2008 Author Posted 29 August, 2008 or maybe a team from Georgia , same time as the Russians bomb the **** out of the place
Saint Martini Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 (edited) They can get any of the unseeded teams in group two. Maybe Kaunas can do British football another favour? On the other hand, if they play Salzburg they'll get Co Adriaanses team and he always plays proper "Total Football", should be interesting to see. Group 2: Seeded Sevilla FC (ESP) FC Rapid Bucureşti (ROU) Paris Saint-Germain FC (FRA) UC Sampdoria (ITA) Portsmouth FC (ENG) Unseeded Vitória SC (POR) VfL Wolfsburg (GER) Kayserispor (TUR) FC Salzburg (AUT) FBK Kaunas (LTU) http://www.uefa.com/competitions/uefacup/news/kind=1/newsid=743492.html Edited 29 August, 2008 by Saint Martini added link to uefa website
bungle Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 I hope they get some small team, underestimate them and get kicked out. Maybe Kalmar FF would be a good candidate for that. I have seen them play. True story.
saint_stevo Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 i hope they get Wolfsburg and that bloke with the silly hair they had on loan scores the winner. D'Allesandro?
Saint Martini Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 i hope they get Wolfsburg and that bloke with the silly hair they had on loan scores the winner. D'Allesandro? He plays in Brazil now, hasn't been at Wolfsburg for quite some time.
saint_stevo Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 He plays in Brazil now, hasn't been at Wolfsburg for quite some time. My bad http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andr%C3%A9s_D%27Alessandro
Scummer Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Not yet it's not. They have to get through the first round before it becomes a group stage. Oops, thought they said it was on the radio last night. Cool, hope they lose then.
scott_saints Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 They'll never beat our European tour in 2003.
saint_stevo Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 They'll never beat our European tour in 2003. SMS to Romania? We released a new shirt and everything. Good Times.

Saint Martini Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 tis true, i stood next to you. Which match?
stevegrant Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Portsmouth v Vitoria Guimaraes (Portugal) Not the easiest, but they'll expect to beat them over two legs.
Saint Martini Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 (edited) Portsmouth v Vitoria Guimaraes (Portugal) Not the easiest, but they'll expect to beat them over two legs. Vitoria are really not very good, they lost to a quite average Basel side in the CL qualifying. Should be easy enough for pompey. Funny that Standard Liege will get another shot at winning in Liverpool. Edited 29 August, 2008 by Saint Martini
bungle Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 I have seen them play. True story. tis true, i stood next to you. Which match? OIS v Kalmar in July 2006. OIS had "Big" D1ck Last in goal - is he still there?
Scummer Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Vitoria are really not very good, they lost to a quite average Basel side in the CL qualifying. Should be easy enough for pompey. They came third in Portugal last season though, they can't be that bad. Just noticed that Saga used to play for them.
saintkiptanui Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Tough draw, the Portugese will play them off the park with there superior technical abilities, redc*nt will claim he was never interested and a top 10 place would be an amazing acievement for him and the club cos they are down to the bare bones and have no money.
70's Mike Posted 29 August, 2008 Posted 29 August, 2008 Portsmouth v Vitoria Guimaraes (Portugal) Not the easiest, but they'll expect to beat them over two legs. typical skates playing a side we played some 30 years ago , always in saints footsteps
