Deppo Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 ...is struggling against Soderling. Would like to see him finally lose at the French Open. His dominance has started to bore me. I'd like to see Federer equal Sampras and eventually surpass his Grand Slam total. If Nadal loses then the draw would be less daunting for Murray, who I think lacks belief against the top two in the Grand Slam tournaments. Gully Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 For Federer to really cement himself as the best ever he'd probably have to beat Nadal when winning the French IMO.

Saintandy666 Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 Get in. Please Federer win it this year! He's a great player Federer, don't get me wrong but am I the only one who doesn't like his attitude sometimes? I mean when he wins everything is fine obviously, but when he loses, well, he's a bit of a bad loser. Not very gracious and all that. I just don't like him that much to be honest and I much perfer Nadals attitude.

I really felt for Fed that time he lost to Rafa and just started crying. It must be really hard to be on the end of a loss like that after an amazing match that that neither deserved to lose. I've never seen Federer be arrogant, it's just he says when he has played really well and when he has played badly.

I agree, but he has this reputation in the media as a gracious winner, carries himself impeccably etc...it simply doesn't ring true. Some of his pronouncements also border on arrogance. I can't fathom the media perception of him...
Julian H. Cope Posted 31 May, 2009 Share Posted 31 May, 2009 Federer is a total d*ck... but still very good at tennis. I found it satisfying at Wimbledon 2008 to see him cry. It was almost akin to when McEnroe broke Borg's heart all those years ago. Still at least Borg wasn't a dildo.

Surely it's understandable that he's not over the moon when he loses, but in recent years he's lost to Nadal in the big matches on so many occasions, it must be hard for him to carry on being gracious. I think he's earnt the right to be a little bit arrogant if he wants to be. Having said that, I don't think he's one of the most entertaining players to watch. Without being bias towards the Brits, I genuinely think Murray is on of the most entertaining. Huge range of shots and seems to be able to find angles which no other players can. He, of course, won't win the french, or probably any other grand slam this year, but I am almost certain he will win a couple during his career - although he better get a move on though because he's no longer one of the young players any more. Nadal IS a ****.

It's just that normally he plays well so what is he supposed to say? That he played awful? I think he needs a good coach again though because he has been poor by his standards this year. Hope he can win the French and then Wimbledon again though.

I don't know what you have against Murray as he is just as honest as Federer, I hope Murray wins a major soon but some will still find fault with him if he does as brits normally do with winners. I know he has a superior record against Federer, but I'm still not sure he has the belief at the very highest level. I wouldn't mind being proved wrong.
