hypochondriac Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Can I get my seat back in the Itchen North next year!
rocknrollman no2 Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 I was wondering if exsisting ST holders would be offered their same seats and maybe some sort of cheaper price? Guess we will have to wait and see.
Born In The 80s Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Can I get my seat back in the Itchen North next year! Very unlikely i would suggest. The corners will more than likely still be shut.
Arizona Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Can I get my seat back in the Itchen North next year! Damn straight! Can't we close the Chapel instead? I'm sure that would save more on stewarding than the corners as we'd need less catering staff and people on the turnstyles. Whilst I'm not promoting staff being laid off, if costs MUST be cut...
VectisSaint Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Very unlikely i would suggest. The corners will more than likely still be shut. Not so sure, it may be that only the corners will be open...
Amesbury Saint Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 mine you if the new owner comes up with a pricing structure for tickets / manager / team that means we sell 20,00 season tickets then the corners will be open.
hypochondriac Posted 30 May, 2009 Author Posted 30 May, 2009 I reckon they'll open it. It made the atmosphere awful last season.
saintsfannick Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 I wouldnt say the atmospheres have been awful, but I used to sit in block 1 and it was a good laugh and I think that we would keep away support quiet , the itchen wing was like the engine room for the noise
rocknrollman no2 Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 If the club have to shut the corners, then so be it. But please keep the Itchen North open. Without it the atmosphere is not so good.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Oh I think the Itchen North lesson has been learnt. It will be open.
J Bizzle Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 TBH it was **** when they opened it at the end of the season. Far too many kids, If it is to be opened it should be to over 18's only and flags, balloons, wigs, jester hats etc must not be allowed.

I would hope it would be back to how it was before. Edited 31 May, 2009 by hypochondriac
Gudz Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 If block one reopens, I'm buying a ST. If it doesn't, Im paying on the door and probably only going to most games instead of all. I know I'm not the only one with this view by a longshot.

I know I'm not the only one with this view by a longshot. Yeah. I'll probably buy a season ticket but it just isn't the same. Last season I sat in the Kingsland and it was awful like a morgue. You can't sing or anything or you get odd looks.

I know I'm not the only one with this view by a longshot. Once the deal is tied up to buy us, now is the best time to make this heard. I think gates will be up next year, particularly if we can attract a semi-decent manager and wipe out the -10 quickly.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 I cant see why it would be closed. This Pinacle group is supposed to have a bit of money and so going by Lowes estimate that closing 3 corners all season would save £250,000 surely they can offset that if we dont get large turnouts initially.
benjii Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 If the positive news and feelgood factor continues over the summer with MLT prominent and the investor's identity being weclomed then I would expect a crowd of 23K+ for the first home game. If performances are decent this will be sustained and possibly grow. I expect the corners will be open, with the possible exception of the one between the Chapel and the Itchen as, frankly, it is utterly pointless unless the rest of the ground is full.

Just because they have a few quid doesn't mean they will be prepared to p*ss it away. Agree with the main point though that I hope block 1 is re-opened.
SaintDonkey Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 I'm guessing they'll see what season ticket demand is like before making a decision. If it's down on last year then it can't possibly make sense to open the corners. If season ticket sales are up then open them one at a time as the demand dictates (and allow people who have bought tickets to relocate if they want to). So for people like Gudz it's Catch 22. If you and those like you don't buy a season ticket the corners definitetly won't be open.

If you and those like you don't buy a season ticket the corners definitetly won't be open. This isn't a decision they have to make based on ST sales. It would be totally feasible to make the decision at any time during the season. If we get good crowds they will open and the corners and when this happens the club can offer to relocate ST holders. Once a decision is made to open the corners for the rest of the season then relocation for the remainder of the season can be offered.

The better atmosphere can also help results on the pitch.
Toadhall Saint Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 I'd love to get my seat back but only if its not to the detriment of the club.
Huffton Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 At the end of the day it will be down to us. Pretty sure they will start the season with the corners closed but if we start selling enough tickets then they will need to re-open them.
St. Jason Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Very unlikely i would suggest. The corners will more than likely still be shut. Why? The whole thing was done through Lowe's spite last year, can't see how it saved any money, all the bars, food kiosks and turnstiles were still open and still a heavy police/steward presence! The away (and home for that) is going to be even less than last year, simply squeeze the away support 1 block further into the Northam stand, that way you still maintain the 1 clear block segregation between both sets of fans!

People want to know in advance that that section is open.
kpturner Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 that's no good. People want to know in advance that that section is open.It is a bit of a catch-22. They won't open the corners unless they think that the cost will be recouped. I think the best thing to do is buy a season ticket (if that is the intention). If season ticket sales are good enough they may decide to open the corners and allow those who want to to transfer back to their original seats. I am sure they have it all on record.
