Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Author Posted 31 May, 2009 Who is John Missliebrook ? his name was mentioned last night in the pub. Managing Director of Magform Limited apparently? http://www.agform.com/index.htm
Amesbury Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Managing Director of Magform Limited apparently? http://www.agform.com/index.htm and a poster on here?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Author Posted 31 May, 2009 FYI it is Guided Missile ! Guided Missile is our new owner?
doggface Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 We want guided missile out!, say we want guided missile out!!
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Author Posted 31 May, 2009 We want guided missile out!, say we want guided missile out!! Come on lets give Guided Missile a chance! Ahhh scratch that - Missile OUT NOW
waggy Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 media frenzy? not likely. we are a div 1 side now, clubs are bought now without any media interest. perhaps the echo will want an interview, but thats about it.............unless of course the guy is a house hold name like Rod S or Branson! They should then be used to the media! MLT will generate the media frenzy, Sky have a vested interest, bolstered by the reappointment of the Wee man!
Saints Ward Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 It's not Ratcliffe.....unless he has changed his mind in the last 3 weeks.
saintchris23 Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Lloyd Evans? Mega successful DJ according to the people in the know.
maxi_sopez Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 if someone did reveal the name on this thread, would it have to be removed for legal reasons ?
maxi_sopez Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 good point, but if they had enough evidence to prove it was, i dont really no where i am going with this, just interested if stuff is leaked on here are there legal risks
Ponty Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 I'd probably err on the side of removing it, if I knew it was correct somehow. I wouldn't risk anything avoidable ****ing this up now.
Badger Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 if someone did reveal the name on this thread, would it have to be removed for legal reasons ? I don't think it would have to be removed for legal reasons. The investor wants anonimity for now, although there is no reason why anyone on here or in the media is obliged to adhere to that wish. The name could be released and as it is not causing offence or is libellous then there is no reason to delete it. That said,I think it is prudent to respect that wish.We would not wish to jeopardise the future of Saints,by creating a situation where the investor is hacked off by having the Echo etc camped outside their front drive etc.
Frank's cousin Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Uhm..after all we have been through, maybe I'm just a touch paranoid, but is it possibe the reason he has not come forward is because some fans may not like it when they hear the names?...
NickG Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 they may not want to talk to the media yet but no-one who is spending this sort of money, and has just spent £1/2m on a non-refundable deposit would back out due to their identity being on here. And as I am guessing none of us have signed confidentiality agreements there is no reason why is should not appear on here.
St Chalet Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 The name could be posted and nobody would believe it anyway. In fact I am sure it has been posted, but with all the chaff the wheat is perfectly safe.
hypochondriac Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Uhm..after all we have been through' date=' maybe I'm just a touch paranoid, but is it possibe the reason he has not come forward is because some fans may not like it when they hear the names?...[/quote'] How would someone with hundreds of millions not be anything but liked? (Unless it's Mandaric.)

Can think of some who would be popular, but no-one worth 100's of £m that fans would not like!
Faz Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Uhm..after all we have been through' date=' maybe I'm just a touch paranoid, but is it possibe the reason he has not come forward is because some fans may not like it when they hear the names?...[/quote'] I'm thinking its more likely it is someone in the public eye. Otherwise why the anonimity? You can't get much more anonymous than being owner of a Third Division football club!
Alain Perrin Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 media frenzy? not likely. we are a div 1 side now, clubs are bought now without any media interest. perhaps the echo will want an interview, but thats about it.............unless of course the guy is a house hold name like Rod S or Branson! They should then be used to the media! Less media frenzy, more the reaction of some of our more 'emotional' fans if things went tits up. You only have to see some of the vitriol directed at Rupert Lowe to see how that can happen. Players and owners alike, a Saint can become a sinner in the eyes of the fans very, very quickly. Sure it might just be words, but, if I was seriously wealthy, it would be something I'd consider before making an investment.
doggface Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 I think the name will come out shortly, though I know there was a possibility they wish to remain anonomous long term & leave the running of the club to MLT & TL and the board they put in place.

StuRomseySaint Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 This is my completely non-ITK guess as posted on another thread. The original bid consisted of Magner, McManus and Tabor. Magner and McManus could not agree on the terms and walked, causing the Pinnacle bid to stall. Magner and McManus came back as the 'Irish' Consortium. After being persuaded by Matty and Lyneham, Tabor returned to the table with Pinnacle, who were then given exclusivity. Well, that is my guess, completely non-ITK, but it does fit in with what little we do know.
Rebel Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Who is John Missliebrook ? his name was mentioned last night in the pub. one of the Misselbrook and Westons? M&W to you and me (Alldays after that!) probably not!

I dont remember seeing this confirmed - only speculated on here?
Rebel Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 blimey I think Stu Romsey Saint migth actually be right about something for once!
StuRomseySaint Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 do we know 100% that the original bid consisted of Magner, McManus and Tabor? I dont remember seeing this confirmed - only speculated on here? As I said, just speculating and having a punt based on the information. We know the Pinnacle bid stalled, and it was reported on here that one or more people withdrew their funding. Tabor works very closely at business level with McManus and Magner, so it would be no suprise if they were linked, it would also be no suprise if they were to link up in the future. After the Pinnacle bid stalled, there was a last minute approach from an Irish consortium.... coincidence? Here's hoping.

Magnier & McManus have been involved in football before ruling both out of the Pinnacle bid (we know the "individual" has not been involved in football before) Tabor (worth 620 million by the way!) does not have previous links to footy and leaves him still in the frame. Good work SRS!! Bit like Cluedo!
hypochondriac Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 It's Sir Alan Sugar. What makes you think that?
Glasgow_Saint Posted 31 May, 2009 Author Posted 31 May, 2009 I think Mick Channon would also be a friend of Tabor? Plot thickens!?

Good work SRS!! Bit like Cluedo! The last man in the consortium has no links to football, which rules Tabor in, nobody has stated the other members of the consortium who walked didn't have links to football. It's all a punt, but the conclusion I have come up with has nothing that can be ruled out 100%, so let's wait and see. I am hoping if it is true, then Magner and McManus will come back to the table with the Pinnacle bid, based on Tabor having many, many investments with them, which will turn us into a real force.
ozzmeister Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Theo Paphitas (Dragons Den), was chairman at Millwall for about 10years so has been involved in the game before and is a specialist at turning around companies??

This adds weight to your punt as proves old Tabo has desires to own a club! interesting If only hey - according to the 'rich list' ( 2008 ) Tabo (his new nickname) is the 134th Richest Man in Britain with a fortune of more than $1.24 billion
Badger Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 It's Sir Alan Sugar. Theo Paphitas (Dragons Den), was chairman at Millwall for about 10years so has been involved in the game before and is a specialist at turning around companies?? But it has been stated "not involved in football before".

After the Pinnacle bid stalled, there was a last minute approach from an Irish consortium.... coincidence? Here's hoping. That was exactly my thinking SRS. I am completely NOT ITK but I was thinking along exactly the same lines. More circumstantial evidence is that : According to the Rich List Tabor is worth £520m - which equates to "several hundred million" They have previously tried to buy into Man U. They didn't get control but they did end up with several million in profit on the ManU shares that they bought. It would not surprise me if they were to try the same again with another football club. Although they do not have horses with Mick Channon there is always the connection with him through the horse racing world. We are probably barking up the wrong tree - but if was Tabor (with possibly Magnier and/or Macmanus as well) I would be incredibly optimistic about our future.Coolmore which Tabor and Magnier set up, is now probably the leading horse racing organisation in the UK. Last year they won a record breaking number of Group 1 (highest quality) races. I have been told by someone who deals with them on a professional basis that they are very professional in everything that they do. I had better stop or I will get too excited!! It will definitely be a huge disappointment if it is not them and instead we end up with Lowe - mark 2!!
buctootim Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 I'd be surprised if it was Tabor - he's a West Ham fan who tried to buy into them in the 1990s according to the Times. Since they are now practically belly up presumably if he was going to buy a club it would be them.

buctootim Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Maybe - but being a West Ham fan didn't stop him from buying into Man U in a big way. Didnt think he did personally - just an associate of Magnier and McManus who did.
Michelle Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Theo Paphitas (Dragons Den), was chairman at Millwall for about 10years so has been involved in the game before and is a specialist at turning around companies?? Theo is my boss, and I did try to persuade him it would be a good idea when we were on our company holiday in Cyprus last week. Unfortunately, he politely declined the offer. On more than one occassion too. :-(
Saints Pedro Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 Wasn't one of the 'Pinnacle Consortium' supposed to be a 'household name'? By the way can you have a consortium with only one person in it?
