CD - that's all i'm giving you...

a) Because although i've been told it is fact, who really knows, and

b) Because if he's going to save the Saints, if anonimity is what he wants, that's what he gets.

c) You're only getting that much, so I can say I told you so!

I should also point out (and this is my final snippet) that CD is not necessarily a person.....

Listen, I don't care who or what he is - there is absolutely no way that I want a cross dresser running SFC - period...!

There's a more amusing countdown picture out there...would probably earn me 3 points on my SWF licence though...

Go on - you know you want to.....! ;)

So in 17 pages and nearly 1000 posts, the forums front runners seem to be (In no order at all)

Michael Tabor

Jim Ratcliffe

Charles Dunthorne

Andrew Llyod Webber

Alistair Dial :D

I wonder if SWF found our man

My moneys on it being none of them and can't believe it will go down to the last day.

dont shoot me here but from a very reliable friend they tell me the guy 100 percent is jim ratcliffe

Think the same myself and had a few friends put that name about.

Also, been considering things.

Well, FWIW, I still think it’s Jim Ratcliffe. The Chemical engineer turned Ineos Boss from Beaulieu?! The Five Year plan line on Wiki sounds all too familiar eh?! Also, if he’s reclusive, may tie in with the reports previously about it on this forum/The Echo and the comments about “the client” seeming to prefer anonymity (judging by the content of Tony Lynam’s statement and the desired set-up of Pinnacle).

Always found it very interesting how Radcliffe likes to use high yield debt to finance his deals, buying unwanted operations from groups such as ICI and BP selecting targets based on their potential to double their earnings OVER A FIVE YEAR PERIOD. Sounds a similar strategy to the Pinnacle Group eh?! Certainly makes you wonder.

Ineos based in Lymington? Link with Leon there?

Lyndhurst based. Could be something in that. I've been phoning, texting, delving, googling & pondering on everything to date (the snippets which may be true) & all seems to point to Ratcliffe. If not, we've been given red herring rumours or there are some freaky coincidences! I'll put my neck out anyway in what I've heard, read & researched this wk!

Lyndhurst, not Lymington!

Just to let you know that Ineos have not been in the best shape going into this recession as they were highly leveraged in order to purchase process plants from the likes of BP and Basell and were desperately trying to refinance these loans or they would come completely unstuck as the petrochemicals and chemicals markets roll back production due to the dramatic fall off in demand. When the demand does come back there is so much new production coming on stream in the Middle East and China that Ineos' plants could be uncompetitive and shut down.

How deep are his pockets? Just a thought.

Got to ask yourself why would Jim Ratcliffe get involved with Saints? Huge distraction from his core business, not even sure he is a football fan let alone Saints supporter

Charles Dunstone also owns 51% of a building company called Allied developments who have just built the new industrial estate at Solent Way in Whiteley.

I happen to know his buisness partner in Allied developments (more useless information) and i also know he is in the process of trying to buy an old 1930s Yacht approx 188ft long which he plans to totally refit on the south coast although he has had some problems with the legal side and as yet has not finalised the deal.

...and his business is struggling to manage its £6B debt according to reports. Which sounds pretty familiar too.

He went from 10th to 25th to not even making it into the Times Rich List in successive years. As most of his wealth is tied to Ineos which is in a spot of bother they were not able to estimate his wealth.

Does he need this distraction?

Nah...Ineos is in Lyndhurst.

No reason for there not to be a link with Leon...successful businessmen and all.... ;-)

If it turns out that Leon played a part (if this does happen) - how many of the naysayers will be offering their apologies for the stick dished out to Leon lately?

Hmmmm...let's see...he would be the ONLY main shareholder of SLH who had delivered on attracting investment to the club...

Three degrees of separation....

I suspect as a lurker, and with minimal posts, I may get hounded for this, but here goes.

I am not in the know or anything like that, but this is what I DO know. The company I work for in Southampton (I'd rather we remain anoymnmous as I could get ratted if not) have a major customer, in INEOS. I asked one of our directors straight to his face (whom is very good friends with Jim) "Is Jim Radcliffe buying Southampton FC?" To which he looked at me, smiled wryly, and said "no". read into that what you want, as it got me!! useless, I know, but my tenpennyworth. Friday can't come quick enough...
