Oh MY GOD!!! A thread on this forum that has got to the 2nd page and is still a happy and positive one!! I never thought I'd see that happen.

I know the deals not done, but that letter gives me much hope and I'll be sinking a few pints tonight to celebrate.

You obviously haven't seen Red and White Army's post - he's moaning already. You couldn't make it up, you really couldn't...

Can't remember the last time I was so eager to buy my season ticket. The sun is out and it appears to be shining on us. Thanks to the mystery backer for having the belief to stay in when others didn't. Sunshine footbal returns to the south coast.

I know it's only words and there's a long way to go yet, but I can't help but smile having read that. Great to see someone on the board with no axe to grind and who puts the best interests of the club first. I've no idea who this bloke is, but I'm sure Matt would never be associated with bullsh*tters. I'm actually looking forward to next season. I just hope these guys make the right decision manager wise, and then back him to the hilt.

Great but does that mean Askham and alll the others who have divided us. Iam hoping for a complete sweep and none of the people who have brought us to this still to be involved.

So is you finally jumping ship, just so as I know. IMHO Leon Crouch should have a place on the board, if so invited. The club would of folded before now without this fan, using his own money to keep us afloat.

No! Although Crouch has been brilliant in helping us he must never be allowed in a position of power, nor should anyone who has previously been on the board in the past 10 years. It is the last thing we need, he should be rewarded and thanked but not given a place on the board!

So....how do you propose to reward him. Did I forget to tell you, that he saved the club going bust, or should we just ignore that fact. You have your opinion, I have mine.......now think happy thoughts:)

Our one client has SUBSTANTIAL wealth - several hundred million. Irrespective of this however, I am looking at this as a business which can stand on its two feet.

doesn't sound as if your reading between the lines will be the case :D

This bit seemed to be suggesting that money is not going to be thrown at the club. We will have to live within our means and not run at a loss which we have been doing since relegation from the premiership.

To stand on our own two feet means we will have to get wages to a percentage of turnover to break even, thus getting rid of the high earners.

This is something that had Michael Wilde stated in his manifesto, it might have sat more comfortably with many.

So far so good Tony, now all thats needed is to have our 10 points back.

I'm almost certain it is, although the Echo's not the best paper in the world it has the same letter in it http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4408597.Open_letter_from_Pinnacle_to_Saints_fans/

The last post underneath the letter is from the Echo web editor who states that the paper has Tony Lynam's "express permission" to reproduce the open letter on their and other websites. Seems totally genuine as far as I can ascertain.

Yes we'll absoultely have to live within our means and to be honest I'm personally happy with rather than the potential situation of no club at all.

That said, living within our means may not be so much of an issue for us with no millstone of a mortgage :-)

Thats bought tears to my eyes !

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou !!

COME ON YOU SAINTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ps - could we knock down West Quay and have a statue built of MLT that can be seen across the whole of the south coast of England ?? : - )

Tony if there is another statue to be cast then dont use the Mandaric/Bates bloke or we might end up with a Le tissier/Thompson.

Thankyou for massive efforts

After such a long time being half empty, my glass is very definitely half full and it won't be long before it's topped right up by the sound of things.

Well done all involved and thank you MLT for keeping the faith. Fingers crossed there are no nasties unearthed as the paperwork gets completed - it's not quite a done deal yet but these guys seem pretty determined to get Saints back where we all want them to be - team to be proud of.

I forgot to say in my last post that statements to a internet forum is totally naff. We had that with Wilde and the crap Questions stuff. Forget all that rubbish and sort the club out. This forum caters for nothing more than a couple of hundred fans and thus the majority of fans do not use it. Be proffesional and keep of the forum as it will be Wilde all over again.

Perhaps the fact the new incumbant is a fan like us irks you. I for one welcome the fact it doesn't appear a suit with an agenda is at the helm. Fans ask for transparancy and passion, someone offers that and there are still detractors. What about a little gratitude for someone who is working at giving you something you have been desperately looking for?

One major difference here from the Wilde dabacle as well, he played a shady game of using the forum to garner support before he got in, not after.

Disagree - it was exactly what was called for and was an excellent statement that informed fans of the facts - how refreshing to be able to type that.

That was an absolute delight to read, it sent shivers down my spine.

I really hope, like my message a couple of weeks back, we can all once more unite again.

With Matt in any role, we can. I know a few of you on here actually doubt his credentials but this would be no Shearer fiasco - Matt isn't a gob****e, he knows his stuff - any of you who watch Sky Sports will agree he is probably the most articulate pundit on there. Shearer, well... he was a boring and dumb pundit and that transferred to his brief management stint. Believe me, Matt's 'got it', Shearer hasn't. And please, I don't want to hear Paul Ince's name mentioned again, either. Bluuuurgh, gob****e...

Still, I'd settle for WGS seeing as we are all in dreamland atm :-)

Can't wait for the new season, I really want to be back in the UK for the start!!!

Very badly written! I thought this forum catered for anyone interested in the Saints?

A percentage of the fan base use this forum, just like a percentage of fans read the echo and all the other outlets he sent the letter to.

Well done to all the guys involved, if our future is anything like the letter suggest's I will be very happy indeed.

I'm really looking forward to the big reveal, however there's a little part of my brain that keeps flashing up an image of Rupert Lowe coming out from behind the curtain with his smug grin and **** plan of action.

This is now a time for unity, and I really do hope that I get all of your support, and the support of the wider community to make this club great again. I will stop at nothing to make this happen guys - but I need bums on seats AND support to achieve this. Together, we can have a club to be proud of once more (and there's me a boyhood Liverpool fan saying that!).

Come on, I can't be the only one who had a little shudder reading that line?

All he had to do was put COYR at the end and I would have been suicidal. ;)

Seriously, that read really well and I am very chuffed with how that all sounds. Maybe the comeback starts today.

You just had to ruin our new found unity, LC I would just about stomach but not 1 of the others from the past please. It could effect the chance of fulscale unity IMO

Just a thought, if the new investor has settled the debt, does that mean it will be like a family paying off the mortgage and all the income can be spent elsewhere. The match income can then be spent on the clubs' progress rather than paying back loans and interest. So, say for a £15m payment the season ticket money can go to finance the wages of above average players for the 3rd tier (still cant call it league 1, will always be 3rd division).

As another overseas Saint does anyone know the start dates for the new season? It'll save me googling but I also wanted to say: "I'll be there!".

No season ticket, obviously, and only a token financial support (although my few shares are worthless!) but just to show that there are people all over the world willing Saints on.

I hope this is the one and only time i read a statement on here from part of the prospective new owners team. It reads well but some will also read it as cheap pr and pandering to a select gathering of fans via an internet forum. Innocent it maybe but proved to be the downfall of others in the past.

I am impressed that Mr Lynham has posted on this forum himself and has not used stooges or ITKs to communicate.

A good start.

I am feeling incredibly optimistic about next season.

The last year has been traumatic; we have hit new lows on and off the park.

The most depressing moments for me personally have been witnessing Saints fans fighting each other with words on this forum and fighting each other with fists at both home and away fixtures.

Surely this is the time to put the past behind us and unite again.

I for one, can't wait to renew my ST and start enjoying Saturday afternoons with the best fans in the world.

Together forever! RED AND WHITE!
