Paul Chuckle Posted 29 May, 2009 Posted 29 May, 2009 LOL at his Radio 5 live interview. Made Marc Jackson look like a Pro
Frank's cousin Posted 29 May, 2009 Posted 29 May, 2009 He was imprisoned for sh@gging monkeys. FEck that was funny... ;-)
mynameisthehulk Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Have you ever done a radio interview? I have done a few, both interviewer and interviewee, not rocket science
Master Bates Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 He was last spotted sat behind nickh at the last home game of the season. I kept looking at him thinking, "where have you been all this time", he kept looking at me looking at him and got a bit creeped out.
INFLUENCED.COM Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Didn't his company go bust last year? The one he sold did after spending a rake of dough on lavish offices etc...from memory believe he is still trading
stthrobber Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Does he still have an interest in the club ? Why should anyone actually care? The man was a publicity seeking bull****ter who looked like a complete ***t when despite his bluster and "you'll see tomorrow" talk, er, nothing actually happened. He's probably not able to reach tyre kicker status

Top bloke? don't make me laugh, I know several people who worked or have done work for him and he is a complete stroker IMO Never stood a chance of getting near taking over SFC, although his inflated ego means he probably thought he could! Or maybe you disagree ?
Mr Nice Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Top bloke? don't make me laugh, I know several people who worked or have done work for him and he is a complete stroker IMO Never stood a chance of getting near taking over SFC, although his inflated ego means he probably thought he could! Or maybe you disagree ? Well i will disagree as he NEVER had any intention of buying SFC ! As for ego again not really him.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Couldve sworn i spoke to him yesterday. I asked him to make my fries large with a coke to go!
LostBoys Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Way way way out of his depth - that interview made him out to be what he was a chancer who got lucky with one set of commercial circumstancers but a pillock otherwise
4737_carlin Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 Nice chap who ive worked with on a number of charity events. Amusing the rubbish being spouted on this forum regarding him.
ponto1963 Posted 30 May, 2009 Posted 30 May, 2009 looks like he was a casualty of the credit crunch http://vur.me/s/Strode-gibbons

J Bizzle Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 His son got expelled from my school and he couldn't live with the embarrassment.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 May, 2009 Posted 31 May, 2009 looks like he was a casualty of the credit crunch http://vur.me/s/Strode-gibbons Yep, that is probably the reason.

Saints foreva Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/4659622.stm Good times.
kpturner Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 I don't know why he ever added the "Strode" to his surname, because those of us that have known him since we were kids will always know him as Andy Gibbons. It may be his mums maiden name - can't remember. He fell in love with SFC at the same time as me - I should know because we both sat alone in his parents lounge as kids and watched SFC beat Man Utd 1-0 in the 1976 Cup Final. His dad then took us to Channon's testimonial on the following Monday night. I have never spoken to him about the proposed buy out of Southampton a year a two ago, but always believed that the press just got hold of his name as a local wealthy Saints fan and took a punt by contacting him to see if we was interested in buying the club. I expect he quite liked the attention and provided a few ill-advised sound bites for them. Before he knew it, he was in up to his neck and then had to wriggle his way out of it. Good job the press then found Crouch and Co. which allowed him to slip back into the background wishing he had kept quiet. I am sure he will put me straight if I have this wrong....
Ken Tone Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Top bloke and laughs about the clueless idiots on here ive been told. I would love to hear some of you lot on the radio it would be far worse than ASG or MJ. Well I don't know Strode-Gibbons and thus can't comment about him, but by the same token you ought to be more circumspect in your assumptions about people on this forum; they vary widely in experience, knowledge etc, and some are certainly used to dealing with the media. One of the fascinating yet infuriating things about the forum is that you never know when you start reading a thread whether it is being led by a berk or someone with brains, or inside info (not often!), or relevant experience, or an ego that needs re-inflating, or an internet troll, or ... Since you are shown as only joining in April you either are jumping to premature conclusions ---- or maybe you are a longer term user, who has signed up with a new user name because of too much 'history' with your old one? K.
Pancake Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 I should know because we both sat alone in his parents lounge as kids and watched SFC beat Man Utd 1-0 in the 1976 Cup Final. Some sort of multiple personality disorder?
kpturner Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Some sort of multiple personality disorder?LOL "unattended by adults" would have made the sentence too long-winded.
OldNick Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 . He fell in love with SFC at the same time as me - I should know because we both sat alone in his parents lounge as kids and watched SFC beat Man Utd 1-0 in the 1976 Cup Final. .You'd have been about 18 at the time then
