pleased to hear it' date=' i think most are fed up with the old arguments although Alpine has not had his say yet but me i am looking forward to handing over the dough for 3 season tickets watching the club re build from the bottom, but most of all, hopefully, winning some home games and [b']enjoying my football[/b]

That`s what it`s all about and something that has been sadly lacking for the last few years.

Okay, not a done deal just yet, but I hope now that some of you who've been doubting Tony Lynam's ability to pull a deal together will give him due credit for the incredible efforts he's been exerting in order to rescue your club.

Frankly, I think some of you owe him and his team an apology for some of the less than savoury comments that have been made on this forum.

"I am very excited to have back possibly the only man that can really unite this club back, soon to be Club Chairman!!!!!!!!!! MLT"

...I hope whoever the new owners are, they have the sense to put in charge of the club someone with the skills to run the club - not someone with a set of amazing - but totally irrelevant - skills.

Suhari,

Nothing funky attached to the bid as far as I am aware at all, however I dare not say "football first" now where have I heard that before!!! If you go back through my old posts might tell you a little more? BTW I only know limited information so do not preach to be completely ITK re all things pinnacle, but what little I can share I will if it's not sensitive.

If the original backers did not come back to the table then their financial plans may well have changed so it's unfair to speculate. However if not original backers, I doubt MLT would give his backing to any deal which was not in the best interests of the FC.

I think MLT is a smart cookie & he will surround himself with others on the board who are more than qualified to run the football club.

After 55 years supporting Saints I know exactly what you mean. 1959/60 was some of the most exciting in the old third division. I have a good feeling about this.

Many thanks for the reply.

Like many others no doubt, I am desparate for more news.

Feel more excited being a Saints fan than I have for ages.

A cold beer and ignore t'internet for a few hours I think.

Go-on...who is going to be manager..?.....:)

Fair enough but I think that it was a minority (they just tend to be loud and relentless).

Well done to Tony Lynam and even more plaudits to come if it all gets completed.

Michael Tabor. There, said it. "Mystery" backer no more. No need for silly hints, racing analogies and all that.

Now wouldn't it be REALLY funny if it turned out Pompey deal wasn't quite as nailed on as claimed.................

I have no idea if you're right or not, but there is a reason why the names haven't been released in the media yet - they don't want to be known.

so how about you keep that kind of info close to your chest until we're over the line?....

This!

Hopefully there are no irregularities and it's a straightforward exchange. this by no means means we're out the poop yet but it's definately some positive news that've been waiting for.

My feelings too, it is the most you can expect ay this moment in time, so far so good. I will have a beer or two tonight, but keep the champagne on ice.

Potentially we have turned a corner !

I hope and pray that this is the catalyst that suddenly improves our fortunes and moves the club forward after 5 years of sh1t and mediocrity !

We`ll walk this corner

Only by one or two ITKs. Most fans will obviously be more than grateful and won't need your advice on such matters.

If you're right, he has a few bob but why Saints? Is he chummy with Mike Channon? Seems he's had a go at buying a football club before

but otherwise I just don't see the connection.

We can all sleep a little easier while the £500,000 lasts, but the fat lady isn't singing just yet. I hope more details of the proposed deal emerge soon.

As I have said before I suspect the bid will be around the £12m -£14m mark. This will buy you the club all the assets and no debt. Barclays and Aviva will settle for about approx 3m and 9m respectivley with the odd going to other creditors. No doubt Aviva will put in a clause that will mean we pay a figure back to them on contractual basis if we reach the top flight, as might Barclays. The difference between the 2 bids will be what thay can offer the club in the future and this is going to be the interesting bit.

I have had communication with Tony Lynham this afternoon, and have preliminary organised a session with him to answer some questions from you guys upon completion. Details will follow

Was this the name you were alluding to this morning?

If so, thanks, you made me look a right tit!;)

And which bid are you referring to with Mr Tabor? Sorry if I missed it in another post

I don't think that is any of the names linked with Pinnacle!

Still well done so far TL

Exit2,

I want to know about any possible points deduction appeal. Think we have a good case based on the league moving the goalposts of their rules and what Mark Fry said at the time. Have their lawyers been looking into that and what are their plans? Can you ask him about that? :)

to be honest, I dont think we have grounds for appeal. Yesterdays non payment to football club staff just showed that really SFC were insolvent

Hang on a sec. This seed that was planted FOR A REASON about Tabor. Is he supposedly part of the pinncale bid or not?

If NOT tread carefully as Dainty Dave isn't a poster that i'd trust as he clearly has an agenda.

Saved by Le God!

You can go stick you arabs up your ass

Go very carefully with that, as Pinnacle represent the investor, so we do not know who he or she is yet. By the way only Americans spell ass that way, the correct spelling is Arse.

I think not. IMHO

If that's the case cast your mind back to previous shenanigans with ITK newbies on this site. Not once have they been worthy of our trust.

Don't get carried away with rumours on here or in the Daily Echo. That's a lesson we all should have learnt by now.

I have no idea why this guy has been mentioned by DD, and I wouldn't trust him as far as I could flick him.

If it is some attempt to upset the apple cart which appears to be moving along nicely I don't believe it is possible with the period of exclusivity IMO

Good news. I really don't give a flying **** if they haven't got mega millions to throw at it. Would much rather we build it up the traditional way and attempt to get stronger gradually. We've had, 5 years of complete sh!t so I'll be patient...
