Pinnacle clinch it.

Can't shed any light on anything, but I can't understand why we can't find out who's behind it. If MLT is a figurehead, I suppose like Frannie Lee (was it him) at Man C a few years back, then he isn't exactly putting his face about (as far as I can see, not being in Soton). Has he been gladhanding and kissing babies around the area?

Can Pinnacle be gazzumped if one of the other bidders comes back with a much bigger offer on Monday (say) or is it now only Pinnacle's to throw away if they decide they don't want it at some point during the 'exclusivity' phase?

First guess: could it finally be Gavyn Davies putting his money where his mouth ("I won't let SFC die") is?

Don't think so.

Great news nontheless.

I'm hoping Pinnacle will be good for us.

Anyone know (Farmer, Doggface ??) is it safe to release the identities of the Pinnacle team yet ?

Regards

21 Days, until then we still don't have an owner!

Yeah I know but werent these the guys who had exclusivity but then people pulled out after a closer look? Surely if they have looked once they already know what to expect. Certainly sounds pretty likely from where I'm sitting.

Frannie Lee actually had money

I wouldn't worry. I'm sure the fearless newshounds at the Echo are more than capable of doing that.

Oh.

As I understand it, Fry won't deal with anyone else until the 21 days is over.

Yes, but lets calm down a bit. Nobody is going to throw a fraction of that amount at SFC unless they are complete lunatics. I would imagine it has taken this long to conclude because the plan (and the finances to achieve the plan) are very tight. We don't want to end up back in this position ever again, so lets hope they are prudent people, spending wisely so we have a solid basis for progression back up the leagues.

Plus we'll need more than that to bid for Kaka !!!!!

True, but according to the Times he was worth more that 150million a couple of years ago:

"Gavyn Davies, who resigned as chairman of the BBC after the Hutton Inquiry, is ranked 254th, with £157 million."

I guess he may have lost a bit in the downturn & recession, but even so, he could no doubt afford to commit 20-25 million to SFC over the next couple of years, if he wanted to.

Anyway, this is just rank speculation. I suppose we'll find out eventually who Pinnacle's "wealthy investor" is ...

So, if, hypothetically, some rich nutter came along and offered £50m as a 'take it or leave it now' offer, Fry would be duty bound to turn them down?

Not that there's any chance of this happening but am still interested in the 'rules' at this stage....

Nobody would risk £500,000 if they were not intending to complete. The money is in place and now the lawyers do their bit (that will cost a couple of hundred thousand as well), add to this the costs of financial brokers/accountants etc and you are talking serious cash!

Good news. Even better because it eliminates LLS!

You gotta feel some sympathy for the guy though....whatever people think about him he must have put a huge amount of personal time and money into trying to save the club.

I knew it was a sign something was going to happen as I sliced my pinnacle ball out of bounds four times this morning.

It said on the golfball that it don't hook or slice!

What utter toss...

Anyway let's hope we finally move forward to where we belong. :-)

Wow, go out in the garden for a few hours and come back to this great news.

Long way to go but it is looking good.

What a coaster ride so far. Let's hope for calmer times. Do not know the details but good friends say this will secure a long term future if it completes.

Come on you Red & Whites. Well done Tony Lynam. Hard luck Green & Jackson but I know your main aim was to secure a future for our club so I know you will be relieved and supportive. Just hope it has not cost you too much financially to get to this stage.

Who wants to be the first person to start a thread about the reason it is taking so long to complete the deal? After what seems like an age waiting for this to happen, we now have to fret for up to 21 days to find out if the deal will be concluded. It is like all the worry of waiting for a baby to arrive, and when it does the worrying really starts.....I'm still going to wet the babies head tonight though.

Serves you right for using shi!t cheap golf balls. My Titleist Pro V1's go straight into the woods without a hint of a hook or a slice.

After the years of waiting for something to happen on a Friday I guess it had to be in the end didnt it ?

Seems strange Fry has a meeting with staff yesterday then just 24 hours later we get this !! Something obviously moved very quickly......any help from these Swiss people I wonder ?

So, the upshot of all this is that the Football Club has avoided going into administration. Now bring on the battle with the Football League?

The upshot surely to date is that it is hoped that at some point in the next three weeks, Pinnacle will make an acceptable offer to the Administrator for the assets of SLH.....

They have exclusivity to finalise their offer. Given the inability of the club to pay it's employees this week, I would personally suggest heads stay below parapets for a while longer yet.

on basis that they have been negotiating for weeks, and now have paid £500,000 for the pleasure of trying to finalise it - they must be confident that they can make an acceptable offer to Fry.

has it been confirmed that this is not a consortium? - but single backer willing to put few million in?
I think that the number of people behind it has fluctuated as things progressed - probably with one individual remaining firm. Who knows at the moment. Maybe today somebody extra committed to enable them to risk putting down the £500k.
