Saint Billy Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 I like the sound of that. Me too. Would be a little like going back in time.
once_bitterne Posted 13 June, 2009 Posted 13 June, 2009 I've just spoken to Tony. He is in Guernsey at the Smile4Rich Charity Golf event at Le Grande Mare. He said this is a charity close to his heart and he hopes in future SFC can be involved in similar fund raising events to build a better spirit around the club once again and give something back to the community. He said his weekend will be dedicated to going through the remaining legal issues and he is confident of getting everything in place in time for deadline day. Tony and co are champing at the bit to get on with football matters, which in Tony's words were 'what it's really all about'. Does a lot of work for charity but doesn't like to talk about it.....

We are very lucky to have MLT encouraging our new backers. Bloke's more than a legend - he's fast moving on to become 'Mr Southampton 2'!
NSS Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, particularly after all the positive vibes that have been circulating, but I feel it is only fair that you guys and girls should be among the first to hear that Tony Lynam and his team have failed in their attempt .... to win the Guernsey Smile4Rich Golf Day. Sorry, couldn't resist it

Sorry to be pedant but dedicating his weekend to sorting out the football club and also playing in a charity event does not seem to be the same thing in my book.
Third Division South Days Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 The SLH page on London Stock Exchange cannot be found. Statement reads it has been removed, renamed or temporarily unavailable. Is this old news or is something actually happening?

MusicMan Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 This may bring a smile to a few faces. I heard at the weekend that the Poopey takeover is faltering and may not go ahead. Apparently there are things in the book that the lawyers are not happy with.

Red and White Army Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 I've seen nothing to belay my fears expressed a while ago http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=315498&postcount=205 Really hope my sixth sense is wrong - I knew Wilde would be a disaster and I'm not getting great feelings about this latest chapter in the Saints saga. Hoping to be proved wrong.
Mole Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Sorry to be pedant but dedicating his weekend to sorting out the football club and also playing in a charity event does not seem to be the same thing in my book. Weren't you championing the photocopier salesman a week or so ago?
bridge too far Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Sorry to be pedant but dedicating his weekend to sorting out the football club and also playing in a charity event does not seem to be the same thing in my book. Oh Nick - you old sourpuss The man's been working all hours the good lord made. Surely he's entitled to a little time out?
Pancake Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Sorry to be pedant but dedicating his weekend to sorting out the football club and also playing in a charity event does not seem to be the same thing in my book. *scratches head* Golf event on Friday (as per the email from Farmer) and then working with lawyers etc on Sat/Sun?
OldNick Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Weren't you championing the photocopier salesman a week or so ago? I was supportive yes. If by saying you were devoting your weekend (the MOST important time at present) to sorting the club out but then saying you were playing golf is not concentrating on the matter. All IMHO, he is more than welcome to play golf and it is probably a fantastic cause but the two statements dont go hand in hand do they?
OldNick Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 *scratches head* Golf event on Friday (as per the email from Farmer) and then working with lawyers etc on Sat/Sun? Oh that is different then. NSS post was this morning and so thought they had just got back today.
Pancake Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Oh that is different then. NSS post was this morning and so thought they had just got back today. Maybe Sherl had other things to do this weekend (like sort out the aftermath of the Charity Golf Day) rather than update a rivals message board on news of the takeover?
Pancake Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 I walking by some of those yesterday. Walking? Sorry, that should have been past tents...
Saint Billy Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009  And, why the change of avatar trousers?
trousers Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009  Sorry, having one of my 'coat for Trousers' poor attempt at humour days...."Too tense" (two tents)....a reel of cotton and a needle in the post to stitch up your sides. And, why the change of avatar trousers? In homage to the "Kevin Keegan reported meeting up with new owners" rumour that (re)surfaced on here at the weekend....

SB Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Couldn’t start a new thread as haven’t paid the fiver.. BWP is at Plymouth FC and looks likely that the transfer has been agreed.
St.Patrik Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 He will leave for free since he´s contract is up....Good Luck to him !
Scudamore Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 He will leave for free since he´s contract is up....Good Luck to him ! Good luck indeed...f::ck him more like...
Master Bates Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Good luck indeed...f::ck him more like... I have, he's not as big as you'd think.
Weston Super Saint Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Couldn’t start a new thread as haven’t paid the fiver.. BWP is at Plymouth FC and looks likely that the transfer has been agreed. Oh noes! I have to go to Plymouth next weekend, do you think my wallet will be safe?

Block 5 Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 606 are reporting the press conference at 2pm today lol!!!!!! Thats the 42nd press conference that won't happen!! Another 606 wind up.......
thorpie the sinner Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 Another 606 wind up....... It certainly is!!
Block 5 Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5381441,00.html Thoughts......?
Mole Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5381441,00.html Thoughts......? No thanks. Hated the whinger when he played for Man Utd.
Give it to Ron Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5381441,00.html Thoughts......? I don't think he will have the finances he wants here...perhaps once the Arab buys Portsmouth that will suit him more? IF Pinnacle take over it has been made clear we will have to be pretty much self sufficient but have a few quid to spend....Blackburn are far richer than us and he thought that wasn't enough. We will not appoint Ince IMO.
St_Tel49 Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5381441,00.html Thoughts......? Good manager's succeed with what they have got. Big Sam kept them up. Ince looked bereft of ideas when things went badly - exactly the criticism aimed at JP
Foxstone Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_5381441,00.html Thoughts......? Too much of a glory hunter than somebody who will graft with limited resources. We need somebody capable certainly - But also really hungry and commtted to our cause !
tpbury Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 I walking by some of those yesterday. Walking? Sorry, that should have been past tents... Now is the winter of our discount tents
dubai_phil Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 How remarkable, I just ordered one like this on-line for Glasto next week. got a really good deal from Notaswaterproofasyouthink.com
Evo Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 To all intents and purposes, this is simply a case of malcontents crying for attention. Poor retention is the likely result. I blame the failure of Setenta Sports and/or after school detention. Let's hope Trousers is not "pictching a Tent". That could get messy.
Weston Saint Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 When all the information has been checked (final due diligence) all will be put to the Principal by Pinnacle for a final decision whether to proceed or not with the purchase.

thorpie the sinner Posted 15 June, 2009 Posted 15 June, 2009 I don't get this one :smt102 Is it to make sure there are no last minute gremlins the principle money man hadn't foreseen?? I am confused myself
