Pinnacle clinch it.

I saw Rupert in The Don restaurant in London today. I managed to refrain from shouting abuse at him although I did utter a fair few expletives about him to my guests. I didn't recognise any of the gimps he was quaffing champagne with.

True story.

Thank the Lord that Tony Lynam was supposed to have been either at SMS or in Switzerland today (depending on which Echo story they print)

Would have been horrific news IF

"seems to be" rather than "is"....?

(sorry to be picky)....:)

Gonna have to employ a proof reader before I post anything in future!!

All is progressing as planned.

Not sure where these rumours are originating from, but I'm told they are wide of the marc

See what I did there?

These things take time, but it's bloody frustrating being in limbo.

Seeing as that lazy sod MB can't be bothered to get out of bed, the echo is reporting that the Pinnacle deal is going according to plan and will be completed by next Friday!!! Lol

So it could be tomorrow, or Saturday, or Sunday, or Monday, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday, or Friday.

Being picky but there is a small contradiction in there.

PINNACLE have assured Saints fans their takeover is “going to plan” and will be sealed before their exclusivity period expires.

and

If the deal can be confirmed quicker it will be, but all the available time could well be used – meaning things would go right to the wire.

Nope. no contradiction. If it goes to the wire, it gets completed minutes or hours before the exclusivity period ends, but still BEFORE the exclusivity period ends. Going past the ire would be AFTER.

Now, they're saying they hope to complete the deal earlier, i.e. days before the exclusivity period ends; but that they cannot be sure and it may go to the wire.

How you find any contradiction there confounds me.

From all the agonizing about the length of time it's taking, I can only conclude that many people on this forum have never bought a house. Up until a year ago, I'd maybe have been saying the same sort of thing, but having been through that process and seen how much useless paperwork and regulation the lawyers have created even around the relatively simple transaction of buying a house from its previous outright owners, I know that the legal side of this business deal is simply bound to drag out for weeks and weeks. So the fact that it is taking weeks means nothing other than that the lawyers are doing their thing and "earning" their fat fees.

Bunch of vultures, but there, the cost of living in a society of laws.

House deals fall through all the time!! Terrible analogy!!!

Butt(y) I agree with the sentiment that when the chips are down as they are right now, you hope someone with business saveloy is working hard behind the scenes to get this pickled egg back in the jar and wrap the deal up before the fat goes cold.

So glad you spent the time to sensationalise my post RinNY!

Yes I have bought a property numerous times, and yes it does take time. Exactly what that has to do with my post god knows.

Notice in my post the words "being picky" and "small contradiction". I was not banging on about how long the deal is taking, I was merely pointing out two sentences that seemed to be at odds with eachother.

Get a life drama queen!

If the cap fits, my dear fellow, then you will simply have to wear it. What on earth has fried your bacon?

I did two things: pointed out that there was no contradiction at all where you claimed to see one. Sorry, old chap, but picky, small, or whatever other qualification you choose to put in, there was no contradiction. That is a simple matter of fact.

Now, I then went on to reflect about the process in general and how some folk are reacting to it. Not about your post any more, because guess what? Not everything is about you! Can you imagine???

I will say, thanks for the chuckle you just gave me though. Drama queen indeed!

Not been a rumour here for a while, so here goes....... I have it on no authority whatsoever that KK, TL and Barry Venison (?!?) have been spotted together in Soton and a call from a friend of a friend of a friend to a friend of a friend of TL has KK as our manager next season and an annnouncement of the last day of exclusivity (Friday?). Should I retire a safe distance away?

No I like that one, I have been touting KK for a while but Nick G (darn him!!) wouldn't put him on the manager poll thread!!!!!! I would still run to be safe though!!!! LOL!

I'm sure people on here were talking about today being the day teams need to register themselves for the fixtures, otherwise down to Blue Square Prem? or did I dream it?

Wouldn't be surprised if I did dream it tbf.

Also, by the way, ART is opening up his house, which is nice of him, opening it as a cafe. Guess the recession forces us all to do daft stuff.

I've just spoken to Tony. He is in Guernsey at the Smile4Rich Charity Golf event at Le Grande Mare. He said this is a charity close to his heart and he hopes in future SFC can be involved in similar fund raising events to build a better spirit around the club once again and give something back to the community.

He said his weekend will be dedicated to going through the remaining legal issues and he is confident of getting everything in place in time for deadline day. Tony and co are champing at the bit to get on with football matters, which in Tony's words were 'what it's really all about'.

Can you just call him back and say that pre season is fast approaching,we need a manager, and can we pinpoint any possible signings ASAP and so we can prepare for the forthcoming campaign in an organised fashion.

That would be groovy,thanks.

The term "drama queen" is slang for someone who makes a fuss about nothing, in a histrionic manner.

Strange to say, I'm aware of that: hence my response to your very queenish reaction to my post. I say again, since the cap clearly fits you, you'd best wear it.

Sounds good. If he's got time to play golf there's nothing to worry about r.e the deadline.

It's funny how the lens of hope, or maybe desperation, makes responses different. Six months ago this would have been - "How dare Tony Lyman [Rupert Lowe] play golf [shoot ducks] when the club needs saving."

Il y a deux poids avec deux mesures.

difference is that Lowe had already fooked us over. Some of you lot cannot resist dragging it back to lowe life can you

have to say i agree completely - 2 situations that cannot really be compared, he is gone - please just forget him (and all the other mercenaries(sp)) and move on.......

i want to feel positive about 09-10, and i think (know) i will be - i just want to see some good football at long last (it's been a while - something we can ALL agree on), with passionate players and passionate support

I just want my club back - i dont give a **** about RL or his cronies, or anyone else in the past, it's new dawn and all that

all imho of course (i know what some of you are like) ;)

Alain Perrin, up and away and the professor all Loweys dancing girls on their reunion tour

tonight on behalf of their troupe leader...such arrogance to treat real Saints fans the way you Ra Ra girls continue to behave.

What are you on about? I was merely pointing out that there would have been a 14 page thread on that one line if RL had uttered it rather than Tony Lynam. Mysterious money men, no football experience in the proposed chairman, limited business experience in MLT, limited communication, dodgy websites - you can see the Anti-Lowe's touching themselves in excitement if it was Rupert, not Tony.

Personally I think it is refreshing that such hyperbole and over reaction is gone (for now) from this board / football club.

Anyways, you can say what you like about me in your random streams of conciousness Ottery, but I've always supported WHOEVER ran the club. Constructively criticised yes (including Lowe), but recognised that it's a ****ing hard job (can't please all the people, all of the time etc.). I don't think you can say the same.

The big difference is that we are all sat around waiting for/expecting something positive to happen, with a definite date given as to when it should. I can`t remember waiting for anything positive to happen when Lowe/Wilde were around.Just waiting for the inevitable.

"Nero Fiddling Whilst Rome Burned" comes to mind in that case.
