Pinnacle clinch it.

The Farmer

Didn't The Farmer confirm yesterday that Tony Lynam had spent the day at st Mary's and hinted that all was just dandy?

This is possibly just a rumour that starts when nothing of any note happens for a few days. Do we not all remember the past couple of weeks where it has swayed from "its close. yipee" to "lets face it. We are screwed"

Is this the same pinnicle group that have just pulled the plug on sponsoring nottm forest shirts & are laying off staff right left & centre. I hope not

No its not.

Forest were sponsored by Pinnacle Insurance Group.

1) It's a different company to the Forest sponsors

2) Pinnacle aren't buying us they are acting on behalf of a client so doesn't really matter about their finances(to an extent :))

The fact his name is "Ted Rogers" is a bit suspicious but its slightly unnerving just the same!

:(

Woah there cowboy, my (late) grandfathers name was Ted Rogers!

I can safely say it is not him though (unless reincarnation can happen?!)

However have people seen our Wikipedia page? 'Southampton fc' under the boardroom section. Appears to have been edited today to say the Pinnacle bid is falling apart and next in line are Fat Boy Photocopier and another German/Swiss consortium. I added the very last bit to that section though :)

Radio Solent earlier reported that MLT had said he would be happy to take on the Chairmans role if the Pinnacle deal goes through and they invite him to be Chairman. I know that has been reported before and seems to be common knowledge but its the first time I've actually heard it stated.

Just heard MLT himself say this on Radio Solent. He hopes that his role will be agreed in the next few days and said he is happy to be Chairman if required.

www.pinnacleproperty.net

and if you run it through whois.net you get the Farmers last name as contact details.

So, purely hypothetically, someone could have done the same search above and then set up a user id on here pretending to be the same 'Farmer'?

As I say, hypothetically. I have no reason to believe 'The Farmer' isn't the genuine Mr Farmer.

A lot of hassle surely? And I'm not sure what I would gain from pretending to be me and then deny it isn't me denying it!!

I confirm you are who you are :)

Cheers fella.

Did you see BBC thread ...can you confirm/deny this thread about bid failing

I can also confirm The Farmer just dropped something off to Tony at SMS as he is there burning more candles than I even own working late into the night after being in London all day neck deep in paperwork. Hats off to the Big Man.

What thread Ron?

This is a cut&paste from it although its fromm BBC and I think its a wind up just wanted a bit more confirmation from you as Weston Saint also said he had heard this.

Ted Rogers wrote: Bad news re. Pinnacle Take over, they have put the brakes on having uncovered info during due diligence. Not in a position now to employ anyone at SFC.

Pinnacle did not pay £500k, that was a figure mooted in the media and widely accepted by most. This deal is faltering - fact. Has no deal ever fallen out of bed because matters cannot be agreed upon? Do not think that this is a simple case of dotting i's and crossing t's;Pinnacle were given preferential treatment over the Jackson consortium on a set of verbal commitments and the involvement of MLT. You will soon witness the collapse of this deal due to 'irreconcilable difference'

I think it is ******** but have just sent a couple of texts to confirm it is. Reason being, that where did the £500k come from then to pay the wages on Friday! Due Dilligence was completed before so if a problem would not have enetered the 21 day period.

wasn't it nationwide?

You may well be right there fella.

Can vaguely remember it in the late 70's(ish) as an April Fool's joke.

I'm sure it must be up there on Google somewhere (and will have to see what the That's Life stiry was)

It was either Nationwide or Panorama (although I doubt the latter). I remember it was Richard Dimbleby fronting the piece :)

Just looked on Google and it was Panorama in 1957, which is not the one I was thinking of as this was in the late 70's/early 80's, so more digging methinks!!!

Whoa...

I read this thread, then went down and watched an episode of Red Dwarf Series 1, was wandering upstairs and had a WTF moment.....

Tony is burning the midnight oil, lots of jokes about pizzas.

The only other news was that MLT & Tony had meetings yesterday.

One thing missing here - why no stories about the forensic accountants and lawyers?

PLEASE tell me I am missing something here, surely Tony isn't doing all this alone is he?

What have I missed?
