Bailey Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 One thing I do like about the 'new' website is the 'Player Profile' pages. Each player has an in-depth and detailed description about their playing career, with up-to-date stats too. A stark contrast from the previous website, whereby player descriptions were often lifted from their previous employers website!
Saint_clark Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Is it just me or does it not work very well? If you load it up from a bookmark (or if it's your homepage) it comes up saying error. But when I try just typing the address in, it sits on "new site coming soon" forever and ever.

(1) Yes, as the old page doesnt exist any more, hence the "Not Found Error" message (2) Yes, as it is not really live yet, so the holding page is up...

But the website is still there when I load up my homepage, it just has an error message at the top. I can still view everything on it.
Pancake Posted 1 June, 2009 Author Posted 1 June, 2009 But the website is still there when I load up my homepage, it just has an error message at the top. I can still view everything on it. What is teh URL of your homepage? I guess you have http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/index.php or similar yeah? That page no longer exists, so it takes you to an error page.
Baldsaint Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 But the website is still there when I load up my homepage, it just has an error message at the top. I can still view everything on it. Try this; http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsHome/0,,10280,00.html If it works for me, it should work for anyone!
Over land and sea Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 (edited) One thing I do like about the 'new' website is the 'Player Profile' pages. Each player has an in-depth and detailed description about their playing career, with up-to-date stats too. A stark contrast from the previous website, whereby player descriptions were often lifted from their previous employers website! I agree, it's an improvment. It's also been updated to show most of the players returning from loan although Michael Byrne has not been added back to the list after his loan to Bognor finished - does anyone know if he's been released (he was out of contract I think)? I see that Jack Boyle and Jack Saville are both now included in the squad listing (number 30 and 38 respectively) and that Andrej Pernecky's shown as a striker! I assume this is an error and not a reaction to the fact that we already have four other 'keepers! There's a much fuller list of Academy players as well - though no profiles yet. The9 Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 My favourite bit so far is that the Online store link to the main site is still linking back to the old (index) home page. That and once you get to the useless Coming Soon holding "home" page the only way out is to foce a 404 error with an incorrect URL in order to get a link to a page with some navigation on it !
richie Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 To make is work dont click on enter saintsfc.co.uk click on ticket news in left hand corner and it brings you into the home page and it works fine for me

The Kraken Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 What was the thing that someone on here got wound up about before? About something not being hyperlinked? Was it not the FlyBE logo or something??

Right sider Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Have a look at the history page. Utter ******, even has the dates wrong. Has our first cup final down as 1899!
benjii Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 What a bunch of ****e. I hope the new owner cans this bizarre shower of ****.
VectisSaint Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Have a look at the history page. Utter ******, even has the dates wrong. Has our first cup final down as 1899! Very odd that it is almost word for word what is in the Southampton FC Wiki page, except that they changed this date and the number of years before the next final from 2 to 3. Those 2 first half goals from Jasper McLuckie, and the others from Wood and Plant still haunt me To be fair to Bury they were bound to win with a player called Jasper McLuckie weren't they.
tommi Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 What a load of ****e!!!! click on a news story and you don't know where to look for boxes, adverts, text?? it's shocking!
Isla Wight Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Moan moan moan - what a miserable load of tw*ts on this forum. Never satisfied with anything.

Barry the Badger Posted 1 June, 2009 Posted 1 June, 2009 Moan moan moan - what a miserable load of tw*ts on this forum. Never satisfied with anything. Do you think it looks good then? I'm usually in favour of change for changes sake, freshen things up etc, but it looks like somebody has snorted a load of Saints related information and then sneezed onto my screen.

Id like to print off the web page - put a grid on it and work out how much is devoted to saints and how much is devoted to adverts. I know beggers cant be choosers.
VectisSaint Posted 2 June, 2009 Posted 2 June, 2009 Have a look at the history page. Utter ******, even has the dates wrong. Has our first cup final down as 1899! Notice that this has been fixed now, changed to season 1899-1900. I guess someone is monitoring this message board
Mase Posted 2 June, 2009 Posted 2 June, 2009 Notice that this has been fixed now, changed to season 1899-1900. I guess someone is monitoring this message board If that’s the case then when/if the Online Store is redesigned, can you copy Everton’s. It makes me want to buy stuff and I hate Everton and I hate Scousers! http://evertondirect.evertonfc.com/stores/everton/default.aspx?portal=SN2NBL73
