Can't find the guys original post from last night RE Dyer going for £400k with £200k upfront and £200k next month.

Anyways, it's true, also included is a substantial sell on clause, top ups on appearances etc

In todays Echo.

Also saying there's a deadline of this morning for bidders with Pinnacle & the Irish front runners.

Sigh - I think this is one we will regret in the future. He wants to go and we are in the poo - So I guess the choice is next to none.

400k - how long will that keep the wolves at bay ?/

Edit : Doh - can't go editing the original post on me MB :) Could be a worthy deal with the add ons.

Quite possibly but whilst Dyer is here he will not progress, he has gone stale and has too much 'history' here to be the player he wants to be.

It happens, Kevin Davies was the same second time where he just wasn't going to achieve his full potential as he need the North to feel comfortable.

We may regret it in the future but IMO he will never make it here, hopefully McLaggon will come through and be better than Nathan anyway.

How many deadlies does that bloke give,I bet his kids run riot.

There, I allegedly edited it for you for a possiblly more accurate effect, maybe

Anyone heard the one about his kid and his credit card on ebay to buy some goalposts for his 3/4 sized football pitch in his back garden?

Apparently he complained after delivery that he couldn't find them

They kept moving

Thing is, why?

What happened with the money Crouch provided? Did it go to Fry's expenses/wages/A N Other instead?

Interesting question. Echo reported it only themselves last week.

Perhaps they forgot what they wrote? Thought they would compose some new story and hope no one notices that they don't appear to know what is going on?

I had assumed that the loan from Leon was the reason why Fry dropped his non refundable deposit to secure exclusivity?

As always, more questions than answers.

I think McGlaggon looks better at his age than Nathan Dyer did at the same age anyway. Similar amounts of pace as well. Good luck Nathan, hope you tear it up next season and get yourself a £15m transfer to one of the big boys next summer with us getting a hefty lump from the sell-on clause!

Its not just a question of us needing the money, Dyer wanted to leave as well. He has told all and sundry that he wants to stay at Swansea so that must be taken into consideration. Financially it was a very good move to offer him another contract.

We would have got more from a compensation tribunal though, true we'd have had to have offered him a contract anyway but compared to the 650K we got for Best,400K isn't a whole lot.Plus I guess we actually paid him before he moved to Sheffield on loan so the best solution would appear to have been offer him an unacceptable contract last summer and let him wander off to another club then and take the compensation fee. Might have saved us from administration, I think I advocated that way last summer.

Depends on how much the add-ons are.

Also, if he gets a multi million pound move in the future the sell-on clause will justify handling it this way.

Where are all those fans who said what was the point of giving Dyer a new contract when we were just going to ship him out on loan? It looks very likely that the money from his transfer my be the reason we actually have a club to support next season.

We had to match the contract he was on previously to ensure we got a tribunal fee. How do you know we didn't do exactly that?

Plus we probably got loan fees of some sort from Sheff U and Swansea??

You took the words out of my mouth with that one !

I suppose that it sort of confirms that we desperately needed the money to tide us over otherwise we could have held out for a while !

I would say so, yes. Another month of fees for Begbies Traynor though so it can't all be bad news.

Wonder howmuch comission Lowe gets, if any, tee hee hee

Why do I get the impression that Swansea will hold off on signing on the dotted line until tomorrow in the hope that the delay forces Saints under and they can pick Dyer up for nothing?

well I'm happy for Mr Fry but I think if my productivity for the next month matches the last one then I might be looking for a new job...

Ok, the answer is, Crouch's money apparently paid April's wages.

Which, using the power of Vulcan logic (great movie that new Star trek) means.....

what? in relation to May's wages...

Nah just that the Echo about a week or 2 ago reported Crouch will be saving us by paying this months wages (May), then they have a story today saying we had to sell Nathan Dyer to help towards this months wages

"If Dyer's sale doesn't come to a conclusion..... The last resort would be to go cap in hand to Leon Crouch and ask him if he could stump up the cash.............. Crouch has already made a very hefty and generous contribution to pays April's wage bill".

So Echo which is it, did Crouch pay last months or this months?

Uhm so all that ranting an raving o the CRouch thread acouple of weeks ago which about how he had bought us time was?

Surely in April we still had gate receipts to pay the wages and Mays wages will only just be going out.... something simply dont add up.

The Echo story (I posted the link above) says Crouch had paid April's and could pay May's wages - not that he had done already.

See my response in the other thread, i'm still sitting corrected.

If you wouldn't mind running up and down Above Bar too, singing about how corrected you are, that'd be great. ;)

does this actually mean another potential month of waiting? oh dear god...

Quite. Interesting the Echo talks about "breathing space". I can't see us being taken over until the last, last moment so this just seems like a prolonging of the agony.

If I was either party my sense of urgency has just gone right out of the window with this news.
