hugh Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 I would just like to say how much I have enjoyed this thread for several reasons : 1. The initial post for giving me hope again. 2. For teaching me a lot about grammar and punctuation, that I will now probably ignore. 3. For teaching me a lot about various Irish footballers that I had largely forgotten. 4. For teaching me stuff about U2 that I had mostly ignored in the past.
1576 Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 It's a sign I tell you. Green writing, football and a stadium with red seats. yes I know it's for the CL final but any tenuous link hey.
doggface Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 At last a bit of good news, let's hope this gets sorted quickly. Interesting that Pinnacle are still in the hunt when reportedly 2 of their 3 investors had walked. The original Pinnacle bid - If still the same, would be my favoured bid because of their plans. However it would be interesting to know more of the "Irish" & "Overseas" interest. Hopefully this now puts the MJ fronted bid firmly at the back of the Q.

I would be careful about putting too much faith in "plans". I still remember being suckered by Michael Wilde's "plans" .........

Think it is more important that Pinnacle keep talking and that the MJ bid stays on the table at this point in time. There is a long way between the steps in announcing/making/siging/completing the bid process. We need to keep a safety net until the cheque is in the bank and cleared.
ITKSaint Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 Has there been any word on the wage bill supposedly due tomorrow? I take it from this thread that this is no longer an issue? Definite?

Don't drag me back into the Lowe argument by taking that out of context  But thanks for ruining what was looking like being an Unworring day
lancelot link Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 Here's a random thought for you........ the pinnacle bloke is Irish.......!!! If I was going to wager a bet, I would be minded to put my money on a decision by the end of the day, probably before (this is my view only)
lettuce Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 Maik Taylor, Alan Blayney, Andy Townsend... can't think of any more that haven't been mentioned already!
Wade Garrett Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 Has he got glasses and a bald head? Has he got a moustache? Why don't we just wait instead of speculating whether it's Anderson, Magnier, McManus or Rupert. Has he got ruddy cheeks and a smug bastard grin?

The Pinnacle bid is still very much in the hunt and this new interest from the 2 Irish guys might force there hand one way or the other.Hopefully within a matter of days we will have a club to be proud of once again. Good luck to you, sir..you've got a lucky face !

tpbury Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 Although I've paid up to be a full member, I can't work the paypal thing and therefore can't create a new thread. Listening (as I am obliged to at work) Absolute radio this a.m., they are taking the mickey out of a fund raising event this weekend at SMS - any one know about this? Fun fair, bands, poorly attended, ' hoping to break even'. Any info anyone?

northam soul Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 So from doomsday to now they are all rushing to fight over us.So it would seem these irish guys are not the mystery overseas bidder, could there yet be a twist in the never ending saints takeover saga.
Scummer Posted 27 May, 2009 Posted 27 May, 2009 The stuff in the Echo about how Pinnacle were the front runners until this Irish bid turned up would seem to be in direct contrast to what the people advocating the Jackson Green bid have been saying.
