When Irish eyes are smiling

This proposed takeover is a bit like watching the five minute freeview on the fantasy channel, you know you really shouldn't look at this website because there isn't anything to get excited about very often, but you can't resist a peek anyway cos there is always that little glimmer of hope that you might see something that makes you happy.

Or am I alone on that one ?

You know - I was SOOOO excited last night. Enjoying the silly stuff about grammar and clover because we were all relieved at the thought that it might be all systems go today.

I can't begin to tell you how depressed and let down I am today. I don't need to tell you - you're all feeling the same :(

my thoughts exactly, but then again, did we really expect anything else? There has been a string of bad luck / karma hanging over us for a while now. And im beginning to think that its not ever going to get better. I was watching the Championship play off final on monday, after the final whistle, seeing how happy the Burnley fans were and just started to think that we will never see times like that, especially with the news today about staff wages etc.

Totally deflated today, and what also bugs me is how in one minute the Irish are coming and the next they aren't even mentioned.

It would have had to have been the fastest takeover bid in history, and while I don't worry about anyone else agreeing, it just leaves me feeling a little uneasy, something doesn't sit right

Apparently they had a second look at the training ground as late as yesterday, probably in their rear view mirror as they raced to get to the M27 so they could get away from us as fast as they could.

What doesnt sit right, the Irish interest and their alleged deposit or just that the deal is going to fail or something more ominous?

I cant believe that there has been so many deadlines, how many times has he said in the next 24hrs etc ?

I also cant believe how much slack we are giving him, if it was the board there would have been marches arranged by now.Is it a case we feel so trodden on that we have just given up? It seems a curse has decended on us and we cant shake it off, and to have the braggers down the road having their new owners announced the same time is a real killer.

Ps The Cherries will be back into admin very shortly.

Nick - we aren't the ones that can cut him slack. It's the creditors who can / can't do that.

He owes us nothing - information, updates, consideration.....

Nothing.

Jumping around on here being all melodramitic isn't going to make one squat of difference. Write as many posts as you like, but it won't change anything.

All we can do is wait.

Yeah, but for how long. This is bloody ridiculous. If he cant complete a deal with anyone then he should bloody well just admit it,not keep saying 24 or 48 more hours, when will this nightmare end.

Thats the stuff

Nick, with all respect. That is the stuff. Life's a schiit and then you're dead.

What you can influence is worth worrying about mate.

What you cannot influence, as in this case, it's really not worth raising your blood pressure over.

On here we have now dissected just about every possible angle. We've criticised, moaned, taken the p155, got downright angry with others. We've laughed, smiled, cheered, got our hopes up and, most of all, been depressed.

I think it's time to just wait in silent hope.

We've all had our say, it's no longer worth us all falling out.

God help us.

SSN just had an update nothing new really but said that there were 4 seriously interested parties..... I thought there were 3?

Marc jackson

The Irish guys

Pinnacle/MLT

And who knows!

Can't see all 4 of them failing to make a decent bid/make exclusivity

nick...........stop it, you are fast becoming a laughing stock. You are rapidly going from self professed ITK to IAP. Be told for the last time....Mr Fry is not here to save the club, he is here to get the best deal for the creditors. Now do you understand???, or shall I say it S L O W L Y.....

If a bid was unlikely then I'm sure Fry would have told the staff not to come in Monday as we are going to the wall. Just chill out, I would guess that the deadline we have been waiting for is next Friday because I can't see Fry asking the staff to carry on working without wages for another week.

Takeover bidder to be announced by Wednesday is my guess.

One cannot fail to read your earlier posts nick, you post so many. If you look back over today's contributions, you have had the club folding, and the administrator, having to answer to some fans on an Internet forum. As to loads of people wanting to buy us...........um, let me think, did we have any interest!.......must of been another Saints team. As for a rich man buying us.............get in the real world nick, you're supposed to be a business man FFS.

PS wheres MOrphs daily injection of positive takeover posts?

No news from me I'm afraid.

I'm hoping that the edge of the cliff negotiations that seem to be taking place now are a success.

I suppose we all have to be patient and wait and see.

BTW I suspect that Salz is the 4th interested party as he has been interested from the start of all this, he just does not appear to have the money that others are reported to be prepared to lay out.

Regards

I'd love this to be true, but whilst I agree that it is unlikely there will be too many times you can ask for this goodwill (and Fry will know this), it's more likely that it will but him a few days to conclude activities to improve cash flow (i.e. transfers of Dyer etc), therefore being able to pay staff for a little longer rather than conclude the takeover.

The takeover will invariably take longer (they always do), however, within administration there is always a balance to strike between short term/medium term results for the creditors. i.e. if he sells Dyer and puts the money into a creditors pot, the club will fold have no more staff and will be even less appealing to a proposed bidder. He's got a tough balancing act, maintaining what assets still remaining and ensure they don't depreciate too much against ensuring that the short term selling of assets don't get poured down the drain....tough call.

I know he's under lots of criticism (mainly because his communication has been a bit naiive) but Fry's not got the easiest job in the world.

Still I hope I'm wrong and there is a miracle swift conclusion.
