May not have any money left.

Keep telling you guys things are bad down here.... Prices fallen by 40% since the start of the year. On these figures he'd have lost $17mil.

Mind you if you google Rod Stewart & the World Dubai, there is never any confirmation that he actually bought the UK.....

Hmmm unconfirmed rumours again. Hell he IS buying us YIPPEE

Sorry to ruin this rumour, but I can confirm to the best of my knowledge that he will not buy SFC.

I play for the same club as him in Palos Verdes, LA, and told him he should buy SFC the week of entering admin, and get WGS as manager.

He said no, he doesn't buy football clubs.

PS. he is currently in UK and Europe for his summer hols.

but it might just have put the seed of a thought in his head.....and it has grown since.............

sorry it just won't happen.

He is very careful with his money and how it is invested. He is very passionate about footy in general and Celtic in particular - but not as an owner.

Dont shoot me down for this, but i have just heard from a good source who i will not name as it could effect his employment.

Anyway not sure if this has been said before or is common knowledge but Rod Stewart is going to buy the club and Gordon Strachan is going to be the new manager.

This sounds perfect if its corect!

Huh, I suppose that means another influx of Scottish players into the side, and exit for all the foreigners who can't understand an Aberdeen accent !

Auch aye de nu ! Jock !....sorry Gordon .

Are you sure he didnt mean Rod Hull and Michaella Strachan?

It kills me to ruin your dream but Rod Hull was finished off by Emu a few years ago. The feathered one lured him onto his own roof during a modest gail, on the pretence of fixing his TV arial. Michaella could be in though!

I tell you what, I'd be happy if he took over our club. As long as in the bar he adopted a policy of no jacket required!

What, sorry, now I'm bloody confused - where the hell did Phil Collins come into this - is he buying us too..??? A consortium of Rod and Phil - must have a few bob, surely.

So is it Rod or Phil that is buying us - anybody know...???

I think having him on board would be great. I have a great feelings about this. I can feel it in the air tonight in fact! I cannot believe it's true though. I reckon that is we got this fella to take us over I would spend another day in paradise! Let's just hope that he doesn't start messng us about and his true colours have already been seeen.

All I can say is; Let's dance into the light!

Er, isn't that Phil Collins...

What - keep up, this is a serious takeover we are trying to sort out here.

The PC theory was discussed an hour and a half ago (post 121), since then Bob Carolgese and Bob the Builder look favourites to put in a bid though. ;)

You sure - I thought it was just a Jackson.

Mann this is confusing now...!!!

Bloody hell, Manfred as well !!!!

So thats Rod Stewart, Phill Collins, Jackson 5 and Manfred Mann. Who's next to join the consortium? Ronnie Wood? Peter Gabriel? Rick Wakeman? We could have some good concerts even if the football is crap

Ahhhh with you - Manfred Mann - Mighty Quinn and all that....

Niall's leaving Sunderland and coming to save Saints (finally realised he was actually at the wrong team playing in red and white stripes...!), typical bloody Irish.

Better late than never though.

I urge absolutely everybody from this site who loves Southampton Football Club to download a few of his albums or go and buy some of his CD's asap. Any slim hope we have of him securing this deal could well depend on his having the funds to do so, and I believe we, the fans, can do our bit by putting some much needed money into his account.

I met Rod Stewart in Baker Street, London, today. No joke! I really did!

Don't be stupid, everybody knows that was Gerry Rafferty, WTF would Rod be doing in Baker Street. FFS this is getting past a joke now...!

If you play his latest single backwards at 33 1/3 rpm instead of 45 rpm you can quite clearly hear him singing 'Oh when the Saints' in amongst mutterings about the devil being ousted and Hail (ST) Mary.

Found this random bit of graffitti .. obviously he is trying to remain anonymous or did it after a few drams, but at least it narrows it down to us and Northampton
