The respective noses of Mr Rodney Stewart and Mr Matthew Le Tissier would mean that any press conference announcing their takeover would need a very large venue.

I think there is no reason why he would not want to buy a football club. i dont rule out any rumors i hear untill such time i know there are bull****

 

But if he is so loaded, why wouldnt he buy a Premier League club and install WGS there?

Rod Sewart was due to stage a concert this summer at St Mary's. I suspect the rumour starts and ends there. However, I suppose it might just conceivably be him seriously bidding for the stadium as a concert venue, or indeed so he can get his concert on and make some money by leasing it to Saints. Just a weirdo left field idea. No facts...

he flys back to essex on average once every 5 weeks where he as he has his own over 45s football team who play every week at his home pitch. Glen ****erill and a few other x saints also plays for Rods team.

Given that his big mate WGS has just left Celtic could there just be some truth in this rumour ? Somehow I don't think so but you never know, eh ??

Not true. My mate is his personal driver and I know for a FACT that he is in Essex for 70% of the time. The rest of time is split between LA and Italy. He rarely goes to Scotland now.

 

Also, my wifes hairdresser is mates with Penny's assistant's sister and I know from them that Penny said Rod wont invest in Southampton as he doesn't like vertical stripes on football shirts, hence his love for Celtic. Its a little man thing.

Some people take themselves way to seriously on here. If someone places a rumour (emphasis on the word rumour) then please take it in the way it is probably meant. Talk of his mate deserving the sack etc etc is a bit of an over reaction.

I very doubt it but I can understand where the rumour has come from and thats with the Fry comments and Strachan's ex link with us etc....

 

I put this rumour in the scale of 1 only being that I have noticed that Fry has been buying time in these takeovers and he had to wait till Strachan quit before getting it all in full motion.

Anyway not sure if this has been said before or is common knowledge but Rod Stewart is going to buy the club and Gordon Strachan is going to be the new manager.

Anyone know if Stewart actually went through with his intended plan to buy one of the Islands in that "World" development down here? He was supposed to be buying UK or something, but then with the whole property crash down here maybe he pulled out and has some petty cash laying around.
