mirra Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 WTF are you talking about - the title of the thread is Strachan -what relavance does that have to the support. He was good for us - he's gone (I think he was pretty good for you too), he's history. The fact that you are complaining about winning 3 titles in the last 4 years and we have won sh@g shyte for nigh on 35, but are still passionate about our team shows how much we support our team. You continue supporting and whinging about your lot in that totally boring '2 horse race' that you call football and we will continue to support our team in a competative league - through good times and bad. Now that we have got that straight - there probably is nothing else more to say really. Your apologies accepted............
SaintRichmond Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 So he has left Celtic. Could he be set for the dream return? You heard it here first! Yes, the lure of coming to a Div 1 Club in Admin has proved too strong for him ....

Whitey Grandad Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 He's having talks with P*mpey! If he were to go there, would it change anybody's opinion of him?
Saintjersey Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 If he were to go there, would it change anybody's opinion of him? Slightly, but I will always thank him for what he did with us. At the end of the day he can go exactly where he likes, and if he did go there I wouldn't expect them to be fighting for relegation next season. Saint Ian Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 He's having talks with P*mpey! Weren't there rumours of him going there between leaving us and going to Celtic? I thought he said that he would find it difficult to go there because of his association with us, or did I dream that up??
DT Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 If he were to go there, would it change anybody's opinion of him? Yes. I'd think he was a right berk. They will be in serious trouble next season. Unless of course they get someone like him, because all the big time charlies will be offski over the summer.

I thought he said that he would find it difficult to go there because of his association with us, or did I dream that up?? You didn't dream the quote up - he said it just as Arry had joined us and Redknapp was a bit arsey about it. I'm not sure he'd go to Pompey - he doesn't need to, and I doubt he wants to join a club on a post cup final lull where everything looks down and player clear-outs are on the cards. Durleyfos Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 Yes, the lure of coming to a Div 1 Club in Admin has proved too strong for him .... He's been at Div 1 level for the last few years, so he'll be used to it.

Still, saw this on the Beeb: Portsmouth are expected to confirm Paul Hart as their permanent manager this week. (The Times) Hope so. Not a good player attractor. Bailey Posted 27 May, 2009 Share Posted 27 May, 2009 I'd be a bit gutted if Strachan did go to P*mpey, but I wouldn't think any less of him. What he did here at Saints was nothing short of phenomenal and he'll go down in our club's history. The question I'd ask would be, would the P*mpey fans be happy with his appointment? I thought he said that he would find it difficult to go there because of his association with us, or did I dream that up? Nope, pretty sure I remember Strachan saying something along those lines too.
