I find it inconceivable that posters here are prepared to give Marc Jackson a chance. Are you that stupid?

Watch the interview. He got ousted by the Bournemouth consortium he was involved with the following day. The guy is a walking bull**** zone with absolutely zero credibility.

I hope that Jackson is being entertained by Mark Fry only on the basis to get other possible bidders to up their price for the creditors.

If he is just a bull****ter as you say, then all he is doing is pushing up the price that a real investor has to pay, and thus leave said investor less funds to put into the future running of the club.

Do you KNOW FOR A FACT that the consortium that LLS is involved with is no good for us? DO YOU KNOW who is in this consortium? DO YOU KNOW if they have enough money? If the answer to any of these questions is "No", then I suggest that you are making judgements based on things that you have picked up on this forum. Saints could disappear in a couple of weeks or less and you are making snap judgements without knowing the facts. Let`s hope that Fry does!

I rather suspect that MJ is in the equation as last resort. There is no ****ing way he and his cronies would pass diligence and neither would Southampton City Council entertain it (meaning as last resort they would buy/lease the stadium). It would be a disaster about to occur if they let that go through. They can't afford that.

But if he has no hope, his very presence is detrimental to our future by being the patsy that fry plays against real investors.

Why do people assume that we are backing Marc Jackson just because posters have stated (quite sensibly) that if there is no alternative they would be very very pleased for ANYONE (including Jackson) to take us over? TopGun are you really that stupid? What part of if there is no alternative do you understand? He is the last resort and if his actions mean we still end up with a club next year then I will thank him.

But there is an if there. Nobody is saying for a fact that his presence in this is a good thing. At the present time nobody knows for sure! The only thing I am certain of is that I will accept anyone (yes even Lowe) if it makes I can watch saints next season.

Then we have to assume/hope that Fry is professional enough to know what he is doing. What other choice do we have?

I don't think we're in a position to be picky over who our new owners are.

Put it this way... the new Marchwood Power Station is a £500m project that will supply electricity to all of us without us knowing. For 25 years and more. No hassle. Good investment to commercial interests.

Saints???

You can see why Begbies Traynor are scraping about with Marc Jackson.

Posted

With hindsight the people who stayed away and stopped going because of Lowe, if the club ceases to exist they're ONE of the reasons we're in administration there's no way we would be in this mess if we had a loyal fanbase.

Amazing how I see more Chelsea/Liverpool and Man Utd shirts in Southampton these days and I could have sworn i saw those same faces at SMS 5 years ago.

BUT, if the club gets sold and to the right owners then maybe this is a new beginning. But we're going through hell and back to even know if we'll have a club anymore to support, it doesn't bear thinking not having a Southampton FC, despite all us moaning about the club, it's a club we all love we've been bought up on. I could say some more sentimental stuff.

What people need to understand is Jackson is a middle man who knows people, he's not got the money and he's not gonna be our new owner, he just wants a cut. But if he's got a consortuim of wealthy enough people to buy us why are we slating him? because of how he sounds in a TV interview?. Frankly he's trying to save our club and get people to buy it, yet all people do is slate him.

We don't have a choice who our new owners is, all I care about is the club getting an owner, and there being a Southampton FC next season, it's like an Ethopian whose starving saying he doesn't like the taste of this food.

Now why can't we all just keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best rather than fight amongst each other.

The potential audience is money and there is supply and demand at work. It is my belief that the oaf Jackson is being flung into the air by Begbies to see what else is there.

TopGun, would you rather have Jackson in a position of influence next season or no club?

It won't happen. It's a bait, a rather desperate one admittedly.

That may well be the case. But if it isn't and the Jackson bid is our only option? What then?

Right but you haven't answered the question. Leaving aside the fact I think you are wrong (for a start you have no idea who the backers in the background are.) in a hypothetical situation were the choice is MJ or nothing what would you pick?

Maybe it is. I want a club next year.

That too is my only requirement. My life revolves around SFC to an extent (well a lot of my planning for the weekends anyway.) I'll have lost my main source of pleasure in life really which is going to support my team with my mates. I don't really think TopGun understands what we're trying to say.

You Sir need to come down off your high horse .

It's amazing how many on here have not cottoned on to the seriousness of our current situation - this club is on the very brink of extinction tonight and anyone helping to rescue it from the abyss of liquidation is welcome I'd say. I really couldn't care less about an embarrassing TV interview dug up from the achieves , given the choice who would you prefer Walter Mitty or the Grim Reaper ?

If this is the only acceptable offer on the table then the Administrator will take it - it's as plain and simple as that and your bizarre 'rush to judgement' with it's accompanying one fan boycott is neither here nor there .

I don`t care if Adolf Hitler, George Bush or Dale Winton (insert your own stupid name here) come in to buy the club as long as THERE IS ONE TO SUPPORT. The alternative is NO CLUB! Do people really understand this?

I think TopGun is fully aware of our point of view. I think he started this thread deliberately to cause conflict. I say that because he has chosen to ignore any posts asking sensible questions.

Push comes to shove, I don't believe the Council will let control of SMS go to a muppet like Jackson.

SCC will intervene at last resort, buy/lease the ground from creditors and help Saints stay alive as a football club (though without injecting funds). Then a buyer deals with the council. Man City did the same though not under extreme circumstances. The new ground was owned by the Council cos of M2002 Comm Games and was gradually assigned to the club as it was able to pay.

FFS we aren't debating about what MAY happen. If what you are suggesting does happen then I'm sure people will be generally satisfied. However there is a chance, however remote you think it is, that Jackson's group DOES take control. In that specific instance would you prefer that to the club ceasing to exist. That's all anyone else is saying and if you agree then there is really nothing to disagree about.

You still haven`t answered Hypo`s question.

So oh mighty and wise TopGun, please enlighten us mere mortals

Kindly tell us exactly how much money the alleged Jackson group has bid?

how much of that is in cash?

What is their budget for next season?

What is the cash flow forecast and the worst case attendance break even point?

And where exactly do you think he managed to provide proof that those funds existed to one of the most professional Accounting & Insolvency companies in the country.

And kindly tell us as you are so knowledgeable to make such wise statements who else is in this mysterious consortium?

And when you have finally answered those questions to us, could you please let us all know how much work effort and cost you as an uberfan and wise person has put into attempting to save this club?

There is still at least a week of incredibly expensive and highly stressful work still to be done, but of course you would know that so could you please let us know your best estimate of how much money this process will be costing the consortium over the next week?

Failing that, kindly furnish us with the phone numbers or email addresses of anyone else out there who has the money to buy this club within the next few days. Many of us are still hoping they come along, but they've had quite a while now and I still don't see anyone else in the Echo.

The next few days are critical in the existence of this football club, if nobody else comes along then the 199,999 other signed up members of this club will at least have something to watch and complain about in late July and August when we start our new campaign in League 1, but you can stay at your keyboard and complain, after all that's what we Brits do when we're in England isn't it, we whinge.

But then you probably still believe we are just unlucky and that some uberfan revolution will automatically transport us back to the promised land where we belong in time for August.

Mods - please merge this with the other other anti-thread, this is becoming tiresome

Phil,

You read me wrong. I don't believe that MJ consortium has ability to convince Begbies Traynor. Nor the diligence.

All I am saying is that I think that Begbies are chucking this into the air to see what else might be there for the creditors.

Failing that, given the price and debt is measly in the greater schemes, I am saying that I don't believe SCC will let control of an asset like SMS pass to fools like MJ and co.

From that point, other issues can be discussed.

Hope that satisfies all questions :-)

TopGun on Marc Jackson Interview thread:-

I'm happy to say that if Jackson gets near any control over SFC I'm off.

The guy is a prize ***** of the highest order.

How can anyone forget those ramblings from a couple of years back? Beckham, 55,000 stadium, sell Jackson's Fam for millions etc.

Did you mean this?

Well no actually because you started this thread with this line:

I find it inconceivable that posters here are prepared to give Marc Jackson a chance. Are you that stupid?

Which spectacularly fails to comprehend what any poster is saying to you. If you believe that Jackson won't get in then why are you bothered about people being prepared to give him a chance. They are only doing that on the basis that he is the last resort and that he actually is successful in getting in.

I have spoken to two Bournemouth fans in the last couple of hours about him, one said 'haha, I can't believe wacko Jacko is now after you, unlucky!' the other said 'be careful lads!'

So basically you would rather saints went under than be taken over by Jackson's consortium, irrespective of the fact you have no idea of anyone else involved. Smart guy.

I think you are obsessed with me which is scary.

I have addressed this point time over. And am in a good position to understand it.

The dilligence is now simply about talking to David Jones and then going through every drawer and checking out every contract and every possible "undiscovered" liability. On top of that you have paperwork split between a number of different companies. Do you or others even KNOW what parts or the legal entities people are bidding to buy?

You then add that in to your original cash flow plan for the business and ensure that you have not made any errors when you established your acquisition budget.

Fry has deliberately allowed the group to start DD without the "impossible to accept" risk of a 500k non refundable deposit. How did that come about? By magic or by some people seeing that the best way to save the club in the limited time with the limited bidders was to make a compromise

The consortium has committed to spend a large sum of money to carry out that DD without being exclusive and fully aware that IF another better offer is received that is better for the club then they will be out of pocket. People are spending HOURS a day on phones, conference calls, there are probably something like 30 people involved in this on both sides.

Just ponder those points and ask if a hard nosed successful wealthy person would have agreed to give their money to Fry with that risk "non refundable no guarantee" in any other form of a deal with "dubious" ROI potential, without somebody holding their hands and guiding them or teams of lawyers working on solutions?

Could it be that some people are doing one of the greatest sales jobs of all time? And maybe they are scared to death that there IS nobody else out there? WHAT HAPPENS IF IT GOES WRONG?

Like I said, there are many risks at this time, this is still not a done deal, but what I and others found out at the Forum match is that this is NOT about MJ, it is about who he or Stuart or others FOUND and have brought to the table.

You and others do Fry a disservice for assuming he is a complete idiot, he would not have been assigned to us if he was, and there are a LOT of people who work for him, and one bidder is NOT going to stop him and MANY others looking for more.

Wind it in (along with the others) and WAIT. IF it all works out and no-one else is out there then we will have football next season with something like a competitive team and wise management structure UNLIKE LAST YEAR.

Isn't THAT worth waiting another few days? After all, it's a Bank Holiday there so it isn't as if anyone else can actually transfer that magically deposit until Tuesday.

What the sceptics SHOULD be begging for is that somebody else DOES come in next week, not attacking personalities when they don't actually know what is really behind this.

Im sorry but it is what you posted. So what you are saying is that IF Fry goes with MJ`s consortium you will stop going to SMS. The question that I asked (although you are not good at giving direct answers) is ,is that what you really meant? I hated Branfoot with a passion but it didn`t stop me going to the Dell but you on the other hand have said that you are off if MJ`s consortium gets control without knowing who is involved and how much money they may have! And I am the sap!

Jackson & Co might not be the correct way for the long term future of the club but at the moment it could well be desperate measures in desperate times.

Yes. I won't give any financial support to anything that is to do with Marc Jackson. It is chucking good money after bad.

I presume you don't buy products you don't believe in also?

Does that mean I am not a supporter of Saints?

Quite right, although I do wait and see what the product is like before I decide whether to buy it or not. Sadly football fans are different, buying a years worth of product in advance, not knowing what they are going to get. As a Saints supporter I want a club to support. Ideally I would probably love a "Roman Abramovitch" to come in and pump millions into our club but we are not in a position to say "If a Russian has anything to do with the running of my club - I`m off!" I want a club whoever is involved in it`s running.
