Did the "Lowe Boycott" Damage the Chances..

The product is lousy !

Some customers don't buy !

Who do we blame ? Why, the customers of course !

Some of you guys have to get real, we were lucky that 15,000 odd turned up on a regular basis to watch 4 wins out of 21 in a sh1tty league !

The boardroom bickering, the patronising attitude, the sheer incompetence of those running the club was the major cause of failure and anyone who thinks that the paying customer is in any way at fault is basically thick !!

How many fans on average supported Derby when they didn't win a home game for over 30 matches? I don't know the exact number, leave that to others but my guess is it's well over 25k and that followed relegation. Same for Norwich and Charlton although they did win some home games, they must have felt spoilt.

If Football is a simple commodity like a Petrol Station or a Supermarket then I would guess you are in it for the wrong reasons and suggest you simply buy a Sky subscription as it will save you getting cold and wet in the winter, well cold anyway.

The situation you describe is totally down to Rupert Lowe and the way he hijacked the Club with his shareholdings. If he walked forever years ago then the current scenario would not be as bad. His actions have made the whole thing a mockery and no doubt have turned people away. Lowe's attitude was 'its my club' and therefore nobody else can have it.

The so called lowe boycott is just a way for his fans to make excuses for him again. It was the worst home start in the clubs history this season lets not forget. Incompetent managament in bringing in two dutch donkeys, so Lowe could be director of football. The list of shame from Lowe goes on and on.....

All roads of disaster lead to Lowe, end of.

LOL! Lowe was ousted and that set the wheels in motion to this unmitigated disaster. It may have been the worst start to a season but I doubt many before him had the empty cupboards and bank accounts to deal with left by Crouch and those before him.

TNT you are making Stanley look shrewd.

One thing that does make me laugh (in gallows' humour or irony rather than genuine amusement) is that all these people suddenly using the "if a customer doesn't like the product in a shop, he/she doesn't buy it, why shouldn't football be the same?" argument were almost certainly the same people who got ****ed off when Lowe quite openly called the fans "customers" and threw the "football isn't like any other business" argument at him.

You can't have it both ways.

True but you'll never stop them thinking it. Somebody used the analogy that is it a child's fault if they run away home. Maybe not, unless he has just torched the neighbour's car, but if an adult runs away from home isn't that simply childish or cowardly or both?

Sorry I was wrong Canteen, you're funny as feck, "It may have been the worst start to a season but" how any one can say it may have been the worst start to a season and then say "BUT" cracks me up. You're pure genius mush.

Spot on.

IMO football has become too money-orientated, which has seen clubs become products, franchises etc. We need to snap out of this mentality and, as you said, love the football club unconditionally, through thick and thin, through good times and bad times, in sickness and in health, and all the other related phrases.

:smt041 Ultimately, it's this attitude that will save the club as those influenced by boardroom personalities or watching premier league stars in order to support thie club do not understand the term support and will only develop their yo-yo love of the club once again when the next convieient excuse arises. We have c.15,000 hardcore fans and that needs to be the bedrock on which to re-build but sad nonetheless when you see what some of our peers can achieve during significant failure.

There is no smoke without fire!

Stop blaming the result, and start looking at the root cause.

So right Canteen, true supporters pick a club, stick to it and support it through thick and thin. I knew we'd find common ground eventually.

And finally, GM and 19C climb into bed together. Over time, I have watched this relationship grow and now it has blossomed into one of those stories that Mills and Boon would be rightly proud of.

I think we all knew it would come to this one day, as many of us could see the love/hate relationship from those early days and just waited for it to go the distance. Well, now we are here, and we can judge GM and 19C as one and of having the same opinion.

Who spun whom, who is the submissive one, who backtracked and gave up their opinions and sacrificed their right to chose? Funnily enough, I think 19C won, but then after his PM to me about GM, I think he has been casting his net for this moment for quite some time.

Hope you guys are happy trolling together, keep it up and good luck to the both of you.

John, put your wife's blouse back in the cupboard and stop the hissy fit. Shock horror two posters agree with eachother but their seems to be many more joining the party. We can't just expect those in charge to realise the errors of their ways if this club is too survive and avoid a repeat in the future then we all need to make a sea change in our attitide and you Smithy are on of the worse IMO dressing up your hatred of Lowe as an excuse to can your ST's in order to put your daughter in a straw hat and send her to private school.

Don't blame you but take that blouse off and accept you rightly put your family first. The only thing I have watched evolve over the past few months is you getting in touch with your femine side and developing self-love.

I grew up with his brother and knew um as a nipper so maybe some of his famillies humour has rubbed off on me, sorry about that. I suspect you like some of these great new politically correct comics who couldn't fill a theatre for a night let alone do a summer season.

When you post some thing funny can you pm me so I'll know I have to laugh.

Cheeers John

I guess Mikey won't be on HIGNFY or MTW anytime soon. Not sure the Chris Tarrant Fan Club comes across as satire anymore. When's Mike new DVD coming out? Having watched some of our finest comedians perform recently to packed out theatres I have really enjoyed seeing their DVD's like McIntyre, Bailey, Merton and Boyle comparing their contribution to comedy with your brother is like comparing Lowe as a football Chairman to that of Crouch IMO. (Just to keep it topical).

Its called putting things into context that people like you may be able to understand. Don't worry i won't give up trying although the easy option is simply to suggest hanging those who tried to make a difference as soon as they got involved instead of the alternative approach of trying to convince us everything was ok.

I appreciate your kind words Canteen and I agree, Leon has shown his true colours since we went into admin, it's a shame those that took out for years couldn't do the same.

The thread was mildly interesting until Nineteen Beast ruined it with his trolling.

Stanley have you given up googling? 118 247 - its directory heaven. I thought you were clever and I may have ruined a thread ( I don't agree IMO) but i draw the line at the entire forum and I don't think I have ever issued veiled threats to anyone. Do you ever experience that? Must go my meds are wearing off.
