Inside word on takeover... I don't know how accurate this is, but I have inside word from 'The Boss' at one of Pompey's big local sponsors (cant say who...sorry!), who was told by one of the big guys at PFC... That we have actually been approached by a consortium from the US of A, like suggested in the NOTW. I cant give anymore details like money involved or all sorts, I just know that maybe the NOTW have it right for once, and this could be a brilliant thing for the club! Play Up
Rocker268 Posted 20 May, 2009 Posted 20 May, 2009 I've heard rumours of this as well, its either rich US businessmen or a rich Middle Eastern Consortium and a deal wll go through at the start of July now they have guranteed survival, I have also heard that if Newcastle stay up they will get a new owner with shed loads of cash Although I probably heard both of these rumours on here so I wouldnt trust their validity =p

Mark Fry talks about the importance of time. does anyone know the date by which paperwork for the new season has to be submitted to the Football League? Fry's cut off point must presumably be 7-10 days before that. Answers please. Thanking you in advance.

northam soul Posted 20 May, 2009 Posted 20 May, 2009 Its actually me who is in due dilligence with that lot up the road. I have proven funds and am going through the books at the moment. My grand vision is to let the air baloon play their sunday games on a new pitch built on contaminated land after knocking down their pit to then build a fish market to rival billingsgate. I have a Thai buisness partner who plans to open a take away and far eastern food distribution depot where their main stand is and include some shared ownership housing for Westwood to sell his books from. At the centre of the proposal is a nuclear waste recycling plant which should improve the lifestyle of all the locals and guarantee they keep their good looks for future generations. All that is delaying it at the moment is the council are insisting on a fixed caravan park to house 200 local travellers which i cannot justify. My Thai partner will start getting itchy feet if it is not sorted in 24 hours.

To be fair this thread has made better reading (IMO) than most of the other boring rubbish on this forum recently, where threads just go around in circles with the same people bickering about the same stuff. We need some more random threads as a break form what’s happening at the moment which is all getting extremely depressing. Good to see the skates (Corp Ho, Mack etc ) infiltrating the defence barriers And as for the skates, I wish they would/could post on the main forum more often. The likes of crop and mack rill generally come up with some good points and arguments, but always keep it civil (which is more than can be said for a lot of the regular saints supporters on here!

I like that analogy - You had it bad for years - then good times - then bad around the corner again? Good for us, then bad now, then good again?.... that's why supporting Pompey or Saints is soooo much better than Man Utd or arsenal or Liverpool. They have, a Premier League place, an owner cancelling half their debt, owning the local rubbish pit even if they are only allowed to use it once every couple of weeks, The England World Cup bid virtually telling them that they are going to allocate a hefty amount of funding to them for a new stadium, if the bid is successful. So I wont be surprised to see them get another owner, I just hope that Saints get one as well.
