Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Is it the same the other way round? As i don`t hate lowe i just think he is an arrogant, egotistical idiot who made a fool of himself getting involved with football and we are paying the price for his stupidity. Most people acknowledge others had some part in our demise but their mistakes/****ups pale into insignificance in comparison to his disasters. Like Crouch?....Yes.. Hate Lowe?.....no just think he is an idiot. Hate is such a strong word. But as much as I agree with your summation for Lowe, I have to say although Crouch is likeable as a person, he is also a bit naive and a bit of a motor mouthed idiot. But fair play to him for stumping up the money to keep us going, that is proper fan stuff, from a proper fan that just got out of his depth.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 What a total bollux post. Fans have differing opinions on a vast array of subjects concerning the club they support - we are no different to other clubs at all. Franks Cousin (post 16) and DPS (post 21) have got it spot on - the forum is here for (constructive) debate. FWIW I often agree with a lot of what 19 Canteen posts, he states his POV, doesn't sit on the fence and gives cogent reasoning as to why he holds such views. He may sit in the minority, but he puts himself up there whilst others remain in the forum 'saftey zone'. Unfortunately I don't have the balls to quote, support and respond to his posts because I know that it will only degenerate into name calling by others, and I really can't be arsed to get into petty arguments. Devided on here maybe - as are most clubs, but we are united in supporting Saints - no matter what our opinions on the thousands of variable that go to make up a football club. Hand clappy facey thing. Spot on sir.
solentstars Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Different thread...... Same Shiite agree you think they would be more worried about this club surviving , its the same old recycled clap trap,
solentstars Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Love Lowe = hate Crouch. It's to be expected from Ruperts fan club. i thought you were ruperts fan club your the one who keeps bleating on about him all the time, reminds me of the lyrics of a old doris day record secret love:p Once I had a secret love That lived within the heart of me All too soon my secret love Became impatient to be free So I told a friendly star The way that dreamers often do Just how wonderful you are And why I'm so in love with you Now I shout it from the highest hills Even told the golden daffodils At last my hearts an open door And my secret love's no secret anymore
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I think one of the main issues is people who don't bend over and take the opinions from some of the more vocal members are labelled as Lowe Luvvies and thus the divide is formed. For instance, I keep on getting called a Lowe Luvvie even though I went to both marches, stood outside and chanted against him. I think the problem is some of us try to look at things in a balanced way, but get derided and divised by those that aren't quite so myopic. That's a revelation and a half and I thought I was holding back in admitting I supported the ousting of Lowe in 2006. Is NickH the only man left standing who was proven right over what now seems a lifetime ago?
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 It's not getting over Lowe that is the issue, more trolls like yourself. I dont know Nineteen Canteen but would not mind betting he will still be going to St Mary's, even if that idiot Crouch is chairman. It's one thing having an opinion, it's completely another to remove your financial support from the club. This is a disease you and your ilk infected the club with, so don't start bleating because of the extent it has spread. I don't think the bookies will be offering odds even if I have to sit between Crouch and McMenemy and behind Gaffer and Scally.
rpb Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Love Lowe = hate Crouch. It's to be expected from Ruperts fan club. Is that going to help restore unity amongst the supporters?
Mole Posted 19 May, 2009 Author Posted 19 May, 2009 Is that going to help restore unity amongst the supporters? I don't think it's possible to restore unity between the factions if i'm honest. There's too much water gone under the bridge.

lordswoodsaints Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Sadly i think our fanbase is probably the most fragmented of all clubs in the football league in terms of online supporters. Trolls such as nineteen beast are sadly to be expected, but even after taking his ilk out of the equation the divisions caused by 10 years of Lowe will take some time to get over. I suppose you could compare Saints to England following the civil war. Will we ever be a united club again? Tbh I don't think any set of fans will ever be united, there will always be differences of opinion at every club....after all, isn't that the idea of fans forums? Even in the dark days of branfoot there were fans that were behind him so it is nothing new at this club.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Of course many Saints fans have different opinions and because our club has been so badly managed and the fact that we have had to suffer so many poor performances,i doubt theres not much common ground. But whatever our views we all seem to come together and get behind the team when we need to. This is what we must now concentrate on.Lets hope we have a team next season and lets all get back to SMS and give our full support. There will be time for blaming those responsible for our demise once we are again established and safe from extinction.
um pahars Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Tbh I don't think any set of fans will ever be united, there will always be differences of opinion at every club....after all, isn't that the idea of fans forums? Even in the dark days of branfoot there were fans that were behind him so it is nothing new at this club. And before Branfoot there were those for and against Nicholl carrying on when he had some trouble with the dressing room. It's always been there. Stuff on here gets well overhyped and it's never as polarised and rabid in real life (certainly some of those on here would get some short, sharp shrift if they were like this in real life;)). And of course, get some good results and a semblence of success and the past will soon be forgotten as we're all rather fickle.
Dalek2003 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 We have been dis-united ever since the vocal minority hijacked the club in 2004 and blocked the appointment of Glenn Hoddle for ther our selfish and vindictive egos.

Alain Perrin Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 As soon as you realise that I am right and your leader, the happier you will be.
docker-p Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Until I meet a Lowe Luvie in person i'll refuse to believe they represent anything more than a tiny but vocal minority. Can they really exhist in cyberspace only? Aparently so. A certain amount of them can be ignored as skates on a wind up, others like 19C, or whatever his current name is, can safely be ignored as the village idiot.

As long as people begin to respect that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and just because others may not agree with it, doesn't mean they have to treat that other person with contempt. I don't see the same lack of respect on Saintslist and there are people there who have the same opinions of our former major shareholders and chairmen as those on here, but they don't get labelled trolls, luvvies or any other derogatory term, it's only here that it seems to happen. That's what anonymity does.

Sundance = closet Leeds Flashman = closet Andover Third Bear = closet Salisbury etc etc etc LOL NineSunFlashThirdTeen CanDanceBearBeastTeen uses his special football kit pack to decide who he will support this week

In normal day to day circumstances they are probably quiet law abiding citizens but give them a laptop and they turn into 'angry opinion man' always ready to fight the world as long as it's in cyberspace.

Wes Tender Posted 20 May, 2009 Posted 20 May, 2009 We have been dis-united ever since the vocal minority hijacked the club in 2004 and blocked the appointment of Glenn Hoddle for ther our selfish and vindictive egos. Kindly explain why people would veto the appointment of Hoddle for their own selfish and vindictive reasons? I am at a loss to understand your reasoning. There cannot be any selfish motive unless there was personal gain and I struggle to see how any ordinary fan could have gained anything personal whether Hoddle was appointed or not appointed. Vindictive? Most didn't want him because he had shown a lack of loyalty to the club and felt that he did not deserve to be given a second chance. Are people not entitled to hold their own personal convictions about whether they want one manager rather than another without being accused of being vindictive towards any that they do not want? One would have to infer from such a stance that the holder of those viewpoints was a bit strange, but your obsession towards Hoddle proves that anyway.
Wes Tender Posted 20 May, 2009 Posted 20 May, 2009 Yet they keep calling to tell me they want me back. No. You misunderstood. They keep calling to say that they want to see the back of you.
