Pancake Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I have also been told this, I thought Souness was in for us not for Rangers but stand to be corrected. On SSN it said Saints. Have you actually seen a link between us and Souness on Sky Sports News?
exit2 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The Souness rumour has been about for a few weeks now, so maybe there is some weight behind it being true?
saintstr1 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Weirdo. You are probably correct , I am like the rest of you !!!
saintstr1 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Stalker, methinks. I would choose a more suitable prey !
Trader Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 There is NOTHING about this on SSN. Just usual carp going round in circles.
Stanley Saint Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 There is NOTHING about this on SSN. Just usual carp going round in circles. I think you may be on the fishing channel by mistake.
scotty Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Rangers are really in the mire and given his connections with the country and club not to mention the size and potential then you could see they would be a more attractive proposition than ourselves. If Sambosa is correct then Southampton Airport and Flybe are great for flying to Glasgow and given a choice who would live in Scotland's central belt? Makes the inside of the M25 look green and pleasant. Perhaps Souness could set us up as a feeder club?[/QUOTE] Remember when we used to be Blackburn Reserves?
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I agree, nothing wrong with the city centre and out towards Ibrox and the armadillo. I prefer it to Edinburgh. I also enjoy a good episode of Taggart but it doesn't mean i would like to live there. There are some on here who'd like you to. . . . damn! funny as it sounded I just shouldn't have said that!
thegaffer Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Care to enlighten me on what you mean? OK - off to watch Mock The Week
Crouchie's Lawyer Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 so has anyone actually confirmed that this was on SSN? No, like every other bloody thread on this site, the initial question/point never really gets answered and you have to trawl through posts and posts of useless tripe not associated to Saints let alone the original topic and 9 times out of 10 ends up in a Lowe/Wilde/Crouch argument or whether you were a 'stay away fan' or not.
bridge too far Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Care to enlighten me on what you mean? 19C doesn't do enlightenment - only diatribe and invective.
sun of spain Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I can see it now ....... ....... Souness takes over the club, and within a few seasons we are back in the Premiership. ........ Then in the final game of the season at Portsmouth (which we win to take the Premiership title),he plants a Saints flag in their centre circle (as he did in Turkey). ...... Oh well we can dream,it breaks up this awful wait to see if we actually get taken over ...... Back to biting my nails, and taking the tranquilisers !!
Pancake Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The Souness rumour has been about for a few weeks now, so maybe there is some weight behind it being true? Wonder if the info your heard Exit was the same as the bits Ive got. Brian Kennedy was mentioned, as was a certain ex-Saints players with a name some might heave at.
saintjay77 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 so did anyone else see it on SSN? I think I would rather have GS than anyone else thats been mentioned so far.
Danny R Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Any people to save the club I have invested my time and much emotion to will be welcomed.I just dont get the furore YET in Souness above anyother. I got talking to a Turkish Oil Baron in a Hotel in London about 2 years ago. He was a great friend of Souness and claimed he brought him to Galatasary. He used to live in Southampton as he studied at Warsash. Hopefully, my drunken chat has lead him to buy Saints! I hope so, he had a great tache and wore a beret.
Badger Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Wonder if the info your heard Exit was the same as the bits Ive got. Brian Kennedy was mentioned, as was a certain ex-Saints players with a name some might heave at. In what capacity was the latter mentioned then ? Investor, manager ? Any other clues as to name.Could help bide the time awaiting the real announcement.
Fan The Flames Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Wonder if the info your heard Exit was the same as the bits Ive got. Brian Kennedy was mentioned, as was a certain ex-Saints players with a name some might heave at. Kevin Phillips is moving back as the wife likes it down here.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I have spent the last couple of hours reading all the shate that 19 C has posted on various threads and I have not responded but this is the last straw. Scotlands Central Belt as you put it has many , many green and very Pleasent areas , much more so than the inside of the M25. I have lived in both areas and I can assure you your comments on this subject are like your comments on Crouch and all other things Saints related , Complete Fantasy. You my friend are a hapless fool of the highest order. I am a regular visitor to both areas perhaps its the grey tower blocks and leaden skys not to mention the pebble dashed walls that I find depressing. Now you've done it I don't know if I'm in Airdrie and Coatbridge or Dartford and Erith.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 There are some on here who'd like you to. . . . damn! funny as it sounded I just shouldn't have said that! ESB they do have the internet even though the men wear woollen skirts - and we know why that is, don't we.
Wes Tender Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Kevin Phillips is moving back as the wife likes it down here. We've all heard rumours of where Kevin Phillip's wife likes it.

TNT Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Wonder if the info your heard Exit was the same as the bits Ive got. Brian Kennedy was mentioned, as was a certain ex-Saints players with a name some might heave at. Eyal Berkovic
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Care to enlighten me on what you mean? Sure, its a TV panel game with some very funny people most notably, Frankie Boyle and Hugh Dennis. They run a lot of repeats on Dave and are required recordings IMO.
Saint Billy Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Souness is the new Gavyn Davies/Frost consortium I presume you mean that it doesn't actually exist then.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The Souness rumour has been about for a few weeks now, so maybe there is some weight behind it being true? Fry's Turkish Delight?
superstevesaints Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Pinnacle have not delivered. The unnamed 'Overseas' group have made a bid and have gone through the process. They will be named preferred bidder and are likely to take over within the next few days. An announcement will be made around midday tomrrow from Fry saying they are the preferred bidder. Thanks
benjii Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Re Ali Dia Yes, Souness made an embarassing **** up. However he hauled Dia off and we never saw him again. If Lowe had been responsible for Ali Dia he would have started every match for the rest of the season, been heralded as "the new Pele" and Peter Beagrie or Ally McCoist or someone would have been paraphrased saying nice things about him in the Annual Report.

Thanks How confident are in with your source?
Pancake Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Not Phillips or Eyal. The ex-player was linked as a new Manager material. I think he is learning the trade with the family at the moment.

bridge too far Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Not Phillips or Eyal. The ex-player was linked as a new Manager material. I think he is learning the trade with the family at the moment. Jamie Redknapp? Do I win?

Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Fry's Turkish Delight? Are you sure you're not a journalist on ITN? or NOTW?
Master Bates Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Jamie Redknapp? Do I win? The question should be "What do I win?" and no question mark after Redknapp.
bridge too far Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The question should be "What do I win?" and no question mark after Redknapp. The question is 'is it Jamie Redknapp?' The further question is 'do I win [if my guess is Jamie Redknapp]?' Forgive me for omitting the parentheses.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 We've all heard rumours of where Kevin Phillip's wife likes it. I haven't - is it the New Forest?
hypochondriac Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 I haven't - is it the New Forest? Is that what they call it nowadays?
Master Bates Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The question is 'is it Jamie Redknapp?' The further question is 'do I win [if my guess is Jamie Redknapp]?' Forgive me for omitting the parentheses. Just PM me a bl00dy rule 1 of you in the school mistress outfit and we'll be square.
Ponty Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The question is 'is it Jamie Redknapp?' The further question is 'do I win [if my guess is Jamie Redknapp]?' Forgive me for omitting the parentheses. As we're being pedantic; [ ] are brackets, parentheses are ( ).

bridge too far Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 As we're being pedantic; [ ] are brackets, parentheses are ( ). Hey! Join the club! If we're being uber pedantic (and, before you say, I can't do umlaut) [ ] are square brackets.
John B Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 The Souness rumour has been about for a few weeks now, so maybe there is some weight behind it being true? If the rumour is continually discussed it does not mean it is true in anyway
miserableoldgit Posted 19 May, 2009 Author Posted 19 May, 2009 Hey! Join the club! If we're being uber pedantic (and, before you say, I can't do umlaut) [ ] are square brackets. Is that a euphemism for something?
krissyboy31 Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 Is that a euphemism for something? No, she's ran out of eggs!!
Pancake Posted 19 May, 2009 Posted 19 May, 2009 As in 'yes you're right'? Yeah. All I know is that GS has been talking JR up as a prospective manager and Ive heard from a friend at the Evn. Std. that GS is sniffing about English clubs again.
