Rocker268 Posted 18 May, 2009 Author Share Posted 18 May, 2009 for those of us without sound can someone elaborate? Unless someone else got there first: one or two others were potentialy involved but pulled out when they realised the cost to build for a future Its either those same people or others are tying up legal matters before they can advance Lynham is still very confident otherwise he would have pulled out by now Still efforts and lots of legal meetings going on Fry and Lynham still talking (midnight last night) Unofficial bid made which Fry knows about and is talking about it to one of the clients directly

The9 Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 You must have Insider information then ....... As he doesn't have a lot of Money himself, how would he be able to come back exactly .... Jackson?Green ????? .... and how much Investment would be put into Saints ???? To give you a clue ...... over the past 12/14 years ..... SFA Leopards do not change their spots ......... Any update comment re Lowe's return from Stanley BTW ??? There's a big difference between just running things and owning the thing you're running... ...though I don't think Lowe will be involved again anyway. The9 Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 ? Can we stop assuming Portsmouth want anything to do with our debt now? They have enough of their own don't they ?

Crab Lungs Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 Was guna stick a half flybe, half OKI sponsor on but though id just leave it blank.... i dont like it I actually think it looks quite cool. Question, hypothetical one at best. What if this happened? Say, the fans of both sides 'accepted' this. SMS and Pompey's debt was written off for whatever reasons... Solent United was formed... A new ground built halfway between the two cities... would 'SU' ever be able to compete with the best in the Prem or be capable of the Champions League? Would it be a place where players would want to play? How big COULD the gates at the new club be? What is the real, honest potential of the SU? Obviously, it'll never happen like I said above but I'm just asking.... and curious to other peoples opinions...

This is actually worth its own thread, unlikely idea though it is... there is an element of the "digging a hole for ourselves for Skates to take the p1ss" if we end up surviving though, be wary... PS I'd say we would look like Dagenham and Redbridge, and may be about the same level...

buctootim Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 Apparently, the whisper that the Birmingham part owner (Sullivan or Gold???) wants to get involved but can't due to ownership restrictions. However, he is considering buying the stadium (other assets) as a toe in, whilst someone else holds the Club only to go the whole hog once clear of Birmingham!!!!!! Personally, I think number two is total ******, but thought it might cheer some of you up, and with regards the first one, I'm still of the view that this will all end in tears!!!! Gold lives in the village next to mine. During a conversation about footie Birmingham, money and premiership status I asked him about Saints about a year ago in the post Paull Allen hubris. Said nice things about the club but never expressed an interest in buying. I hope things have changed.
NSS Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 It was this post of yours that reassured me, Neil: I'll file it under "Bulsh !t Baffles Brains".... I doubt very much whether that had reassured you, John, as you had apparently always known better. It was however passed on in good faith as, at the time, that is what I was hearing on the grapevine. Of course, if I'd spoken directly to Tony Lynam I may have heard something different, but I believe he was, at that precise moment, still busily trying to save SFC and so would have had better things to do than to confide in me. Shame to waste my 3rd and final allowed post today in a petty conversation about such matters. I had planned to save it in the hope of being able to post my congratulations in the event of a deal being announced later today (irrespective of with whom). Oh well, there's always tomorrow. INFLUENCED.COM Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 Apparently, the whisper that the Birmingham part owner (Sullivan or Gold???) Straw clutching...last Friday a large Rolls Royce at the cowerds pub DG11 Reg No. saw the guy getting into it he was with a suit who was driving a peugeot or someting like that, they consulted a road map before leaving the car park, a woman was driving the rolls. Not ITK info just an observation, tried to discuss with my partner as we walked the dog around the common, it was pointless as always.

martel Posted 18 May, 2009 Share Posted 18 May, 2009 It seems to be a recurring theme from him though. To be fair though these things always are, listening to Tony Lymon though it does appear that everything that can be done is in fact being done. For example on the telephone to Mark Fry at midnight the night before say's a lot in many respects, so I for one do not believe it is dead, the other thing mentioned was how the cash flow prediction had scared some potential bidders off. That also tells me that Mark Fry has got his ducks in a row with realistic numbers, lets face it, the gate reciepts are going to be lower than last season with us now being in league one. So it does appear that he has probably built that in, as most of you are aware purchasing the club is probably the easy bit; financing it back to the premiership will be an awful lot of money. Then of course staying their is another huge financial cost as well, so for me at least things are being doen in a very professional manner, as frustrating as it all is for fans at the moment, all we can do is wait and pray for the right result; as the other options if no buyer is found I really do not want to think about. JustMike Posted 19 May, 2009 Share Posted 19 May, 2009 It's all hush hush at the moment, but I'm a little nervous about the length of time it's taking, then again, many other clubs have been taken over in the 11th hour and knowing us, I expect it to happen down here too! Then again, if all fails least we'll be in the Conference. knowing our luck it will be the 11:30th hour
