Rocker268 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 You just beat me to it, would it be a good move if they merged with the pinnacle bid?
Frank's cousin Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Uhm, if last resort, hoping to get a better deal?
aintforever Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 More ****** from the Echo, mystery = made up/non existent.
Nexstar Posted 18 May, 2009 Author Posted 18 May, 2009 Kind of links in with Lyeham saying they were hoping to make a bid soon.
saintjay77 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4376709.Mystery_group_poised_for_11th_hour_Saints_bid/ Here we go again... LOL click on the newspaper to hear some girl who works at the Echo I guess bumble through the headlines. I doubt she will be getting a job on the 6 O'Clock news very soon.
Saint_Ash Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Uhm' date=' if last resort, hoping to get a better deal?[/quote'] Exactly, they might have been waiting for the pinnacle group to fk up then they could swoop in and get us on the cheap. Here's hoping but it could be straw clutching!

whitenred Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 What worries me is that initially this overseas lot are supposed to have contacted Pinnacle about combining funds to buy the club, doesn't fill me with confidence about their ability to go it alone....
Frank's cousin Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 What worries me is that initially this overseas lot are supposed to have contacted Pinnacle about combining funds to buy the club, doesn't fill me with confidence about their ability to go it alone.... True

Colinjb Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 (edited) Of course there is. I now genuinely believe we will be the first club of any serious stature to go out of existence. (with respects to Aldershot, Maidstone etc) Edited 18 May, 2009 by Colinjb
saintjay77 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 that is actually pretty funny. Did that make me ITK for half a second?

Doctoroncall Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 You just beat me to it, would it be a good move if they merged with the pinnacle bid? That was mooted, but cannot remember where I saw it or whether it was rational!
70's Mike Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Is it the Iranian brothers? More likely the Trotter brothers or Steptoe and Son
ericofarabia Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 [/url] + + I have just taken these pics of Paul Allen's and Sheikh Mo's yachts in dock at Southampton and also a top secret shot of Sheikh Mo in front of The Northam End for a photo shoot to be released when the deal is signed later this week (on Friday of course) so it must be true. Yay. :partyman:
SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 All this Trauma ...... and still no update from Stanley ?????? .... Must be busy ........
Mole Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 The Echo reminds me of the old clubcall headlines you used to get on teletext in the days before the innernet. Saints is shock move for world class star! Saints closing in on Brazillian wonderkid! Saints join race for Portuguese international! etc.

SuperSAINT Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 LOVE the clubcall memories! - I used to phone it! - What a loser! Anyway, I digress. The fact that Pinnacle were Fry's preferred bidders, shows you how crap the others probably are.
John Boy Saint Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Of course there is. I now genuinely believe we will be the first club of any serious stature to go out of existence. (with respects to Aldershot, Maidstone etc) Just like they said that the Titanic would never sink

egreog Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 So if the overseas group feel to match financial expectations, then I imagine the whole thing just folds?..........pretty devastating really!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Overseas bidders - permission to hurry up and buy the club, granted!
saintjay77 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 When were they named as "Preferred Bidders"? they havnt officially but then the others just seem to be waiting in the wings while Fry deals with Pinnicle so they may as well make it official. Seems to me that Fry wants to make them the official preferred bidders but also wants them to stump up a few more quid for the privalige.

SaintJackoInHurworth Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 The potential overseas bidders... they don't include Paul Allen do they?!! If not(!!), I wonder has anyone speculatively sent him an e-mail to point out that Saints are in administration in case he wants to renew his alleged former interest? Actually, who else could we send such an e-mail to? Bill Gates Michael Jackson The owners of Barcelona CF ???

martel Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 They can't be that keen if they've been hanging around waiting for the Pinnacle group to fall at the last hurdle. I have to agree Fitzhugh, further to this with a little under two hours to go on the extended dead line; what is your take on the current situation? You do come through with good posts that make sense, so your view I think is valued by most on here.
