SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 ...... All Quiet On The Weston Front .............
buctootim Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Solent talking about it now. saying what? "if you know whats going on please phone in and tell us now"
miserableoldgit Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 (edited) A lot of stuff that has already been put out. Lynham interviewed. Originally had a bigger consortium but now down to 2 businessmen. Still talking to Fry. Has already put unofficial bid in. Loads of interest but no-one "showing the money". Reporter suggested that Thursday is the key day. Edited 18 May, 2009 by miserableoldgit
Block 5 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 (edited) Fry, we need to know something. Fry is definitely not ITK - FACT! Edited 18 May, 2009 by Block 5 poor spelling
Bailey Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 The fact that it's gone so quiet suddenly suggests to me that a deal may still be possible, be it with the Pinnacle led consortium or some other group/individual. Maybe Fry announced that a sale is 'unlikely' in a bid to force potential investors into making a formal bid NOW before it's too late? Who knows, but I'm forever an optimist! Lets hope we hear something soon.

Nexstar Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Thursday being the key day for what? The club folding? The last chance for interested parties to bid?
Katalinic Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Radio Hants said that Fry is at the stadium tomorrow so they will ask him what the situation is.
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Thursday being the key day for what? The club folding? The last chance for interested parties to bid? It's pay day .
DaintyDave Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Thursday we need cleared funds to make payroll. If we don't make that, we lose our players (the PFA will not intervene out of season and with the club in admin) and open ourselves up to further penalties. Basically it is time for the talkers to put up or shut up. Fear houses of cards are falling fast in these "mystery consortia".
SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Radio Hants said that Fry is at the stadium tomorrow so they will ask him what the situation is. Not being funny, but WHY has Fry got to be at St Mary's tomorrow ??? If it's all doom and gloom, he could pull the plug from his London office surely ???
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Strangely this story was not even mentioned on Meridian Tonight (aka Skate News) - make of that what you will . Since Meridian Tonight started broadcasting to the whole region, from Newbury, I have been trying, vainly, to get to grips with the whole idea. I can't and now hate it. Obsessed by the hope of hearing something though I tune in. Great news for Gillingham but what about us lot down here? Not a mention, bugger all, not even a whimper!
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Not being funny, but WHY has Fry got to be at St Mary's tomorrow ??? If it's all doom and gloom, he could pull the plug from his London office surely ??? He's got the padlocks, keys and chains.
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Anyone hear solent? they went live to Mark Fry, guess what, still talking with Pinnacle.
SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 He's got the padlocks, keys and chains. Fed - Ex them to Cheltenham PDQ .........
SKATE_HATE Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Anyone hear solent? they went live to Mark Fry, guess what, still talking with Pinnacle. Did he say if the deadline still stands and things have to be completed by tonight?
Katalinic Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Not being funny, but WHY has Fry got to be at St Mary's tomorrow ??? If it's all doom and gloom, he could pull the plug from his London office surely ??? Shall I start a Press Conference conspiracy theory?
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Anything on South Today? Did he say if the deadline still stands and things have to be completed by tonight? Neither that I heard, just trying to see if it's online yet.
The Majestic Channon Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Anyone hear solent? they went live to Mark Fry, guess what, still talking with Pinnacle. Did he say more? like how the talks are going, chances of a deal etc ?
SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Shall I start a Press Conference conspiracy theory? Yeah !!! ...... Go on !!!!!!!!!
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Did he say more? like how the talks are going, chances of a deal etc ? Didn't catch it all, I was walking the dog, my mate phoned me and put his phone up to his radio so I could hear, he sounded confident, but then that means nothing.
thefuriousb Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 South Today just gave the attributed quotes from earlier in the day.
SaintRichmond Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Did he say more? like how the talks are going, chances of a deal etc ? Yes, pretty good actually. Apparently, they all had a nice cup of tea, three rounds of cheese and cucumber sarnies, and a packet of Wholemeal digestive ....... ...... PS No news re the Football though ....
StuRomseySaint Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 So what does ITK stand for?? I Talk Krap I'm Totally Knowledgless I Try Knowing I'm the ku nt ( who pretends to know everything )
niceandfriendly Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Absolutely nothing on South Today apart from a 20 second "story" just saying exactly what's on the BBC website. Did anyone else hear Fry on Solent just now like MB said? I didn't.
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 I've got this far: http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/ But don't know how to listen to the radio news again.
REALIST Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Were saved Fry did a final stadium search and found 10,000 cases of: http://www.forbes.com/2006/06/13/expensive-whiskies-world_cx_np_0614feat.html Thanks George :-)
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Well, as you cannot show figures to demonstrate the proportions of fans that fit into each of these categories, then it rather renders any comparison between our take-up and theirs, doesn't it? Therefore, until such times as you furnish a detailed split, most on here will be able to take it that a large proportion of their sales are inevitably to those either under 21, or over 60, attracted by the sort of price deals that we have failed to offer. Furnish a detailed split??? How about player wages to turnover ratio, allowed to rise to 81% under the Wilde, Hone and Crouch watch. I wonder what was Norwich's ratio and if the overheads had an impact on pricing. Furnish a detailed split? Seriously Wes you must get through a lot of Torch batteries.
Bailey Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Anything on South Today? Nothing new on South Today. Was hoping they could shed some light but no luck.

Under the 'Hone' watch it has to be said. Well those that had executive powers anyway.
waggy Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 I've got this far: http://www.bbc.co.uk/hampshire/ But don't know how to listen to the radio news again. ... it's still got the original quote from Tony Lynam earlier in the day on the media player.

Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Just to be clear, has anyone actually confirmed we don't have the cash/access to cash to make pay on Thursday? If it is the case that a bidder needs to pay a deposit by then, we absolutely need a cheque to be drawn tomorrow, simple as that. If I was Fry I'd be calling everyone in the world who either can afford us or who has ever shown an interest in buying a club in any sport, anywhere. What about that bloke in South Africa who was interested in Newcastle - Johannes? A cheque? What is that, some sort of prommisory note? I'm sure they can pay funds same day or god forbid those poor players have their salary delayed by a couple of days in the clearing system. Perhaps we should pay them by cheque.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 and the palace game was kids for a £1 Was it pay to play ?
jawillwill Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Just got in. Have I missed much today? Quick summary anyone?
thorpie the sinner Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Just got in. Have I missed much today? Quick summary anyone? We have been going bust all day, now there may be a lifeline as Fry/Pinnacle still chewing the cud according solent!!! All saints fans knackered due to high stress!!

Do you not read the stick his posts receive? "Childish remarks" shows considerable restraint under the circumstances... Regardless as to whether you agree with him or not.
beatlesaint Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 I do like the way 19C comes on here, makes his little jokes that are ignored by everyone, then he buggers off. Any chance he's getting the message ??
OldNick Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 why is he not allowed as he is perceived a RL sided poster and the really negative posters are given free reign. It is a forum for all opinions I thought. As long as he is not abusive let him speak
