Take your arguments about who is to blame etc. and f*ck off the lot of you.

Boring c*nts.

770 posts and you still have't worked out what this board is for!!

And I suspect if we'd have kept Nigel Pearson we'd have had 3-5,000 more on our gates... vicious circle, and an old argument, but people won't shell out hard earned money for zero entertainment and a losing team... ultimately that was our failure this year. A massive gamble by Lowe which blew up in his face (and ours!), hence we are where we are...

Hmmm, still unsure about Pearson, I think next season will be a better show of his ability.

It's all gone very quiet, and perhaps that's not bad news.

If the deadline was "end of play" today, which I suppose could be any time but we must be close to it, and there's no formal announcement it means something's still going on.

I would like to guess it's a battle between a stadium-only bid and Pinnacle with the former offering a better immediate return but without the potential of a continuing football club. Fry has to take the best deal he can get, but which of these could he persuade creditors to accept? Or is he pushing Pinnacle because there really is another "mystery" possiblity?

Having said that, I'll probably look very stupid in 30 mins when he announces that all bidders have failed/withdrawn.

But for now my cup's still half full.

Really curious about this deadline. Is this an "artificial" deadline set by Fry to chase up Pinnacle? How much longer does he actually have to sell the club? Thursday? Surely "end of play today" isn`t set in stone?

There must be a cut off date that the FL have given, how do they know if to put SFC into the computer for fixtures which I think are released in a few weeks.

Remember the last game of the 07/08 season? Pearson's name was the one sung long after the game ended. He had charisma, respect of players and fans and would have done the job well enought to get a decent crowd in and keep us up.

But he wasn't Lowe's own appointment ...... end of.

And I think he'll do well next season.

I agree but I am sure NP is better off at Leicester and he may well have gone there even if offered the job at St Mary's

If I am wrong, I still contend that the club folding was just round the corner anyway.

We were on a downwards sprial that was going to hit rock-bottom sooner or later.

If you want to desrcibe wanting administration as "wrong" at this premature stage, the "wrongest" it was is that it caused the end of the club a little earlier than might otherwise have happened.

Now there's a surprise.

If the fixtures are key then we have at least till Monday 'cos the playoffs dont finish till then

I dont dispute what you are saying but he was lucky that we did not lose that game but he may well be a good manager.

His record at St Mary's and his experience was not that great and I believe that Saints were higher in the League when he joined than when he left.

Strange. No Sports News on Solent at 5.20pm just a slot on the 5.30 news which mentioned Hants and England cricket and Skates game Sunderland.

Dare we hope it means something's close and there's an embargo for now?

(Must stop this optimism. Hope is a dangerous thing)

I'm sure it will - but let's not kid ourselves League 1 is easy to "walk" as Leicester have done this year. Give me Pearson, and the goodwill he'd generated at the end of last season, over the year we've just had under JP and MW any day!!!

You really are clutching at straws now.

Barclays could have called in their debt or cut their overdraft at any time when they decided we were too big a risk.

If it was so far from certain as you claim, why did they cut the overdraft ?

cause we owed too much (crouch/wilde) cause they lost faith in us bringing in enough income because we werent getting the fans through the gates (fans) because the football was crap (team/management) because we failed yet again to keep hold of a half decent manager (lowe) and replaced him with someone who only had 1 plan (JP/lowe)

Thing is we had Wilde and Crouch and the execs on the back of what the fans wanted.

Gates were low due to what the fans didnt want

Got shot of better players to fit in with our income which was less with the more fans that didnt want to go

and finally went into admin as there wasnt enough coming in from the fans to service what was going out.

Although I blame the many decissions for our problems I have to admit that we have had a fairly big role in everything that has happened. :(

Still hoping to see the light at the end of the tunnel to know it was all worth it.

Two points. He didn't lose it (that game). And he kept us up. That is what he should be judged on. Compare and contrast with what happened this season.

funny that considering it was other results that kept us up lol.

had we kept him I think we could have been safe this season but the gates would still have been rubbish because we wouldnt have been fighting for much and there would still have been a good chance that admin would have come knocking this season.

I doubt pearson was booted for financial reasons but if he was then admin could well have come sooner just as much as pearson doing fantasticlly and we get full houses as we push for promotion. I would guess the former was more likly though.

Could the SOS appeal - come or we're bankrupt and out of business - have possibly boosted these?

But I do accept NPs record wasn't brilliant, but he pulled the team together, had the fans behind him: just wish he'd been given a full season.

I wasn't behind him though, I was behind the team. Still didn't stop me going then, even though I'd seen him take us from a safe position to nearly getting us relegated.

Just to be clear, has anyone actually confirmed we don't have the cash/access to cash to make pay on Thursday?

If it is the case that a bidder needs to pay a deposit by then, we absolutely need a cheque to be drawn tomorrow, simple as that.

If I was Fry I'd be calling everyone in the world who either can afford us or who has ever shown an interest in buying a club in any sport, anywhere. What about that bloke in South Africa who was interested in Newcastle - Johannes?

its never going to be easy comparing 1 season to the next. had the FL not stuck -10 on us just before a crucial game we might well have had the fight in us to get the points we needed and gone on to get enough points to stay up.

Wotte took on a team that was in really bad trouble at the bottom and pearson took on a team that was mid table and needed guidence. Wotte was hear already so knew the set up. pearson had better players at his disposal.

Pearson didnt exactly keep us up. Other teams losing kept us up.

hands down I would prefer Pearson but its not fair to compare the 2 on what they both had to do.

Chill out guys. Pinnacle are still in this. We will hear soon enough.

And how the F you know that!?

Nothing on solent at 6, which to me after the "unlikely sale" comment earlier would mean something is back on. Otherwise they would surely mention that again?

I think its more the case that they don't have a clue whats going on.

i think there must be something going on. If there wasnt then yes they would be running the lunchtime stories so the people that have been at work all day can get updated on the situation. Those people that havnt been on the net all day or havnt seen a tv or radio wont know what fry said, and so would normally expect this info to be relayed again.

Im looking at it as positively as possible

....bleedin' obvious to me, as nobody on here, even our glorious ITKs, have got a clue what is going on where the hell are Solent and the Echo gonna get their news from. In their case for reuters see SWF.
