Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Why must everything rest so finely on the no news/bleak news border? Adrian, judging by the comments on this thread I'm not sure it does for most of us. No news is most definitely good news and until an official statement we wait and hope safe in the knowledge some mercenaries are unlikely to be paid this month when they usually expect it.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 that causes the humour, everyone is sick or rummours and allegations and the complete lack of fact. I hope KPT doesn't read this.
TNT Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry still trying to make more money out of the deal by flogging the stadium off to a third party ??
Ken Tone Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 I was hoping that someone else would post by now saying they too had heard this, but clearly and it was not that bad. With all due respect to the OP we are all panicking on the basis of something he didn't even hear properly. Might it for example have been along the lines of "pinnacle failed to deliver by the deadline on friday so now have until close of play today", pretty much as solent said at 7.50 this morning? K. ..clutching at straws maybe but .....
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry still trying to make more money out of the deal by flogging the stadium off to a third party ?? Do you think Alan Whitehead can justify it as a second home or flip it?

slickmick Posted 18 May, 2009 Author Posted 18 May, 2009 Almost a direct contradiction of your first post!! I appreciate getting the heads up of some possible developments but you could have been a little less alarmist at the start could you not? It is not a race to see who can post "the" news first is it? Changed it. Hope someone else can clarify it.
OldNick Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry still trying to make more money out of the deal by flogging the stadium off to a third party ??Interesting you put that TNT.
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 cue.....jeez why I am such a pedant. Ahem! Should that not be am I with a question mark? Otherwise it's a rather strangely composed statement.
St.Patrik Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 No news usually is good news - trying to be positive here.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 That sounds like no news! I've only heard no news and bleak news. The only good news is that most the bleak news is speculation from those pessimists nervous about the no news! I'll come back to this thought after I've popped out for some paracetemol. As Master Bates said No news is on again in 5 minutes.
kpturner Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Ahem! Should that not be am I with a question mark? Otherwise it's a rather strangely composed statement.I think you need to carry on reading before posting.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 2 mins before Solent's usual audience is doubled for their no news bulletin
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 We're doomed! Fry says Pinnacle failed to deliver!
LestWeForget Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Lynam tried to appear confident, but sounded very very nervous. Gave me the impression his consortium isn't coming up with the goods.
kpturner Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 (edited) It said "The future plunged into fresh doubt. Fry told Solent that they (Pinnacle) have failed to deliver. Unlikely a transaction will be completed." Lynam (in broad Hampshire) said "if he thought a deal could not be done he would have packed his bags long ago". He then went off to do so. Edited 18 May, 2009 by kpturner
damers Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 failed to deliver on what they promised, and unlikely any other party would be able to complete a transaction.............
St.Patrik Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 ****e ****e ****e.....Is there anyone else interested in buying Saints then ??
SFC Forever Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Mark Fry told radio solent that Pinnacle failed to deliver as requested. Lynam though has said that he is still confident. Who do we believe?
Gemmel Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry also said he doesnt expect to make a transaction - as in selling the club. It is really starting to look like this is it. Fook fook fook
saintalan Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Quotes from MF 'Pinnacle failed to deliver bid' asked about other bids quoted ' very unlikely a transaction will be completed' Pinnacle Tony Lynam on air said" hopes a bid will be in shortly"
LestWeForget Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Mark Fry told radio solent that Pinnacle failed to deliver as requested. Lynam though has said that he is still confident. Who do we believe? He didn't sound it though...
OldNick Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 We're doomed! Fry says Pinnacle failed to deliver!looks like fans had better hope MJ is not a fantacist afterall. None of his people are posting at the moment and so perhaps fry's delay may have made them walk away.Just have to hope there is better news later
Grim Reaper Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 On solent also, Fry said a bid to buy SFC is now looking highly unlikely !!!!!!!!
Master Bates Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Mark Fry told radio solent that Pinnacle failed to deliver as requested. Lynam though has said that he is still confident. Who do we believe? The positive one.
Barry Horne Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry also said he doesnt expect to make a transaction - as in selling the club. It is really starting to look like this is it. Fook fook fook Oh my God, it could really be down to the fans and the council after all, best dig out the cheque book.
St.Patrik Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Perhaps a game with MLT and some other ex stars to raise money now is a good idea ? Ooooh wait thats been done and no tickets sold.........
northam soul Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Right, now Fry needs to make a factual statement directly on the current situation as this is getting ridiculous.
saintsmike25 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Good news. Mystery bid on the Echo now. Stop being so doom and gloom. Fry is holding out for the overseas lot with more money.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4376709.Mystery_group_poised_for_11th_hour_Saints_bid/
Gemmel Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Right, now Fry needs to make a factual statement directly on the current situation as this is getting ridiculous. He has chosen Radio Solent as his medium. They are reporting direct quotes from Fry
Bourno Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4376709.Mystery_group_poised_for_11th_hour_Saints_bid/ Echo reporting mystery foreign bid.
Saint Bowood Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Maybe Mr Fry inviting the mystery third bidder to step forward - optimist to the end !
ladysaint Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Why why are we not attractive to someone, there must surely be someone who wants us, please.
OldNick Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Good news. Mystery bid on the Echo now. Stop being so doom and gloom. Fry is holding out for the overseas lot with more money.Yep he held out for Pinnacle as well.. i would Lol but
Gemmel Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Fry is holding out for the overseas lot with more money. He is hardly pushing the price up, by saying he doesn't expect to sell the club - that just lops another couple million off the asking price, if the buyer belives things really are that desperate
slickmick Posted 18 May, 2009 Author Posted 18 May, 2009 looks like fans had better hope MJ is not a fantacist afterall. None of his people are posting at the moment and so perhaps fry's delay may have made them walk away.Just have to hope there is better news later Sounds like Pinnacle have acted similar to MJ. All p1ss and wind, the lot of them.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 No buyer for the club, what a surprise!! Thank God we went into administration eh!
saintsmike25 Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Well this lot have the funds and want to take FULL control of the club. Rather than combine funds causing more boardroom drama's. Just the news we've been waiting for I don't even think Pinnacle failed. They came in with an offer which wasn't as good as what the overseas lot WILL offer. Watch this space.
nickfinks Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 I dont normally post at all, I just read, but I have to say I am a very worried man right now, as I am sure you all are. Is this the end of our club?
