Crab Lungs Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Lol 'pizza'. It'll all be ok. It's prob best we get the mickey-mousers out of the way, anyway...

Badger Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Is that definite, with quotes or a "The BBC understands..." ? Strawclutching perhaps. But initial response is "oh sh!t,".
slickmick Posted 18 May, 2009 Author Posted 18 May, 2009 Didn't catch all of it as a customer came in, but it sounded as if the things looked to be in trouble with the deal.
kpturner Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 slickmick said: Pinnacle have failed to deliver.Could you elaborate a little. Radio Hampshire are reporting that there is no news yet. What was said exactly? If they announced that then they must also have said something about what the next steps will be for Fry.

Ken Tone Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 They said at 8 o'clock -ish that Pinnacle had until 'close of play' today. Surely nothing would be certain yet? K.
kpturner Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 slickmick said: Said something along the lines that Lynam is hopeful that things can still be sorted. That doesn't sound much different to what we already knew. If there were no direct quotes or interviews then I would suspect they were just saying something for the sake of it.
benjii Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 It may be that the prospect of Pinnacle entering a lock-out period has driven the mystery foreigners to place a better offer. Or it maybe that Pinnacle aren't up to much. Or it maybe that things simply aren't done yet. Or it might be something else.

Radio Solent news at 11 said something like a deal has failed to be agreed ? Surely someone else heard it better than I did, hope I got it wrong, but don't think I did.

SFC Forever Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Brinksmanship of the worst order Perhaps??? I sincerely hope so anyway.

Thank you for clarifying it.

Not a word was mentioned on Friday when an announcement was expected so why was it in the news headlines and not the sport ?

I appreciate getting the heads up of some possible developments but you could have been a little less alarmist at the start could you not? It is not a race to see who can post "the" news first is it?

Why didn't you tell the customer to 'shut the f** up'? You want to get your priorites sorted out.

Nineteen Canteen Posted 18 May, 2009 Posted 18 May, 2009 Is it a sign of the times that a post allegeding the Pinnacle bid of hope is all over is treated with 35 posts of irrelevance and poor humour. It's like we are laughing in the face of our own demise, refreshing if nothing else.
